- Water for Wildlife, and the Pictures to Prove It
In the middle of a desert, along the Rio Grande River, in the middle of nowhere, is Black Gap Wildlife Management Area. It’s here that you can find a surprising wealth of wildlife such as deer, bear, quail, mountain lion and desert bighorn sheep. But without water, none of these animals could exist here. So biologists build and maintain water catchment devises called guzzlers to help the wildlife. With the aid of game cameras, it’s amazing to see the variety of animals that benefit from the guzzlers.
Were I twenty instead of seventy plus I'd jump thru any and every hoop to get the job these guys have. They're living MY dream.
Beautiful water cachment & delivery. Helping wildlife: points in heaven.
I like that part of Texas too. It has a timeless landscape.
Found this video while looking up ways to set up a wildlife water station in my yard. Being 110 miles from the nearest Walmart sounds like a sweet dream. I enjoy seeing land that is basically left alone, no buildings to block the sunlight, no parking lots covering up the prairie grasses; it's beautiful. In my yard I've worked hard to create the land I love by letting much of it return to native grasses, flowers and shrubs. Most everything I plant is there because of its ability to help feed or in some way sustain the local wildlife. Of course, living in the middle of a Midwestern US city of 150,000 people, the neighbors don't agree with my vision of beauty in nature and all hate my yard. I'm not too fond of their sterile, lifeless, non-native turf lawns either! I hope you always love the land you're stewards of and never take being able to see the stars for granted. I'd love to be able to do that. Sigh.
It helps so many critters to have the water at ground level. I put a stick in mine in case a bird needs to grab ahold of something to get out. Thanks for putting water out for them.
Beautiful area. And so vast

good work gentleman :)
WOW all my life I wanted to do something liked this! You
guys are awesome and very lucky to have the opportunity to help the animals. I
wish I have a chance to do this but I don’t own any land but one day my dreams
will come true and I’ll be able to help out the animals too.
I can tell you guys are really nice people just by your tone
of voice. When people are nice it shows out from the inside. I think even the
animals can sense that too and probably try to thank you guys.
Amen!! Thank you wish they did that here in CA mt ranges
April Alfaro there are bubblers around the mountains of CA where water is a little scarce.
Why is California not doing this? or are they?..it solves so many issues.
What a pair of great guys. Thank you for all y'all do!
how come no video on Bigfoot in Texas parks?
Animal videos starts at 6:35.
You're welcome.
Guzzler huh? Saved for later...
Mercy for the animals
That water looks too dirty to drink. Is it ever cleaned?
Yes. Rain guzzlers like these have what’s called a downhill drain-line for cleaning, and since these biologists are collecting camera images bi-weekly, the guzzlers are regularly monitored. Rain guzzlers like these, while very low-maintenance, still have to be cleaned and maintained regularly.
👍❤️
Also I'm sure they have internet.
Hows the fishing? 🎣
Texas Parks & Wildlife so march red tape.
es una esperanza de muerte una poza solo para tu gusto t iras el pozo se secara!!!!!
Wowowowowowowowowowoowowowowwoowwo
Please leave the man made music off. It has nothing to do with nature.
3:34 SO STUPID just create a pond. IMO
Stupid? JUST create a pond? With 11 inches of rain a year, little to no underground water and the evaporation rate with the relative humidity out there you think THEY'RE "stupid"? Look in the mirror genius.
