That worked really well on my transparent pyramid box, but i had to pour the resin on the model in order to get a smooth finish. Thanks for the solution

I've heard curing the model while it's submerged in water removes the tackiness. You should give it a try
That was the first thing I tried, it worked somewhat but not 100%

Hell yeah man! Be sure to do a secondary cure in water to avoid the tackiness

cool its easier to just hold a small model and dip it in some resin and hold it while you rotate and cure it or you can just skip the resin and use the clear coat.
Great video, gonna try it to see if it makes my clear prints better. Question: You cure it once with the UV lamp, then again but with your cure station. What is the difference? I don't have a UV lamp, but I have the Mercury X Wash/Cure. Does it matter if I cure it in there for the first pass?
The secondary cure is to make sure you have all the surface cured. The 360 in the cure machine ensures you did that. Using a lamp prevents it from being cured to the surface. Use a silicon mat

Some questions if i may:
1) for color transparen print you later use clear resin or the same color leftovers?
2) after reading comments here your method now is to print, skip wash, cure, apply another layer, cure in water. Did i get it right?
3) have you tried to print clear resin but later apply color resin? How does it look?
Hey buddy, thanks for the questions. It the resin only matters if it's the same color or clear. If you're printing with clear green, you take it from the build plate and cure it right away for the same effect. Or wash it, cure it, or use a clear or a green. However, I found a better, less tacky finish way to do this

Tip: Resin doesn’t stick to the backings of stickers or silicone mats. If your curing station doesn’t have uv lights to cure from underneath, you can use those to put tour prints on.
Question: wouldn’t uv resistant clearcoat achieve the same result, meanwhile protecting the model from yellowing?
To answer your question, I use to do that. But it never got that glass like surface finish

Maybe it’s just not possible with printing and i will have to resort to printing, making a mold and cast it with casting resin to achieve that glass like object. 😔

How did you sand your piece before adding this brushed in resin. Also does any uv light work?
I didn't sand anything. If your supports are on point then they just fall right off. I have a video for that lol. And yes, any uv light will work. Including but not limited to the sun lol

Hello. To answer your first question, there isn't one lol. It seems a little redundant after a few times of doing this. However, the base could cure to the print making it hard to remove. If you wash it, place it on a silicon mat, then layer it with resin, you can prevent that.
I've never seen any drop traces or mark. It's just a conservative amount of resin that's needed. Don't over do it

just discovered your channel, great content! i had a question, i used siraya clear and my print, whenever i clean it up, i get white spots in crevaces. will this process help clearing these blemish or do i have an other issue? thanks!
Sounds like your wash needs to be swapped out. If you use clear resin it may clear it up, but i think what's going on is your wash might be dirty enough to deposit uncured resin on to it.
@@wilatheroicstudios2466 that's kinda my issue, on my second print i did a first clean under water, in a clean recipient and the same bleemish appeared right away. my tank an iso were cleaned and new. :/

i'm looking for a good non yellowing resin,do you remember what resin have you used for that?it look like anycubic,but i have tried that,and still got that yellowing finish in it
I used anycubic but I've never seen any yellowing happening. For this example I used a ultra clear resin, I wanna say it was Voxelab.

I use Nova3D High Transparency and I'm pretty satisfied. No yellowing. (Printer : Anycubic photon ultra)
@@TomHrlt I used nova 3d,but not happy on how little things/things near to build plate fuse togheter. I have found a good one by Resione, g217 resin,very good at high detail,and easy to setup

my prints tunr our pretty yellowish, is there something i can do to prevent that?

YEah, I got same crap happen after UV-curing. I will try same thing just putting the model outside on sunlight. The UV curing might be too harsh for that cheaper transparent resin.
Tried and tested method. And no need to apologise for the UV light; it's not going to come out of viewers' monitors and phones to hurt their eyes :)

It's the brand quality. Anycubic is super basic clear. I remember voxelab and siraya tech have the best clear out there but it's expensive

@@wilatheroicstudios2466 Oh I see. I guess I got cheap transparent. After 3D printing it looks great, like glass. And then after alcohol clean- it got milky. And after UV cure -it got yellow.
I gotta try your technique + varnish/clear coat.
Do you need to sand it ?
You can to clean up imperfections and such
put a pice off fep onto your curing plate and the part will not stick
