Beste Willem, Dank voor je reaktie, je speelt fantastisch en ik ben al jaren gecharmeerd van orgelspel, heb jaren geleden ook klassieke stukken van Bach op mijn orgel gespeeld en weet hoe moeilijk dit is, de sound van zo'n kerkorgel is ongelooflijk mooi, dat blijft altijd in mijn hart zitten, jer begrijpt denk ik wel wat ik bedoel. Door de komst van mijn kleinkinderen heb ik mijn favoriete instrument "de chromatische mondharmonica" weer opgepakt en oefen iedere dag minstens 1 uur. Groeten Chris.

My professor assigned this as a listening piece for part of the music appreciation curriculum and i have to say I've never really sat and enjoyed classical music like this. Great Stuff !
This is actually the perfect speed for this piece (which I am, in fact, aiming for on the piano), and to be able to do this demonstrates much skill in playing the organ. Also, whoever said you played too slow is just jealous of your tremendous talent. I recently tried to play the organ and the pedals are definitely an adjustment, even for a 10-year pianist. The organ truly is a grand instrument and you are my go-to source of videos for popular Lutheran classical pieces (I attend a Lutheran church and we often hear pieces like Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring and Sheep May Safety Graze). Congrats for the amazing job!

I enjoy recordings like this one but as true audio files understand, it's almost impossible to record such a magnificent instrument and transmit through any kind of electronic transducer. The in person experience can't be replicated.
Bach composed this cantata for Sunday service, as he was the Director of Music in Leipzig and and had to compose cantatas every week for Sunday services, as well as teaching. Bach was a busy man.

Thanks for the upload ,- performed perfectly as all of your uploads have been (at least from my perspective), im here in the US and (with sacred music, specifically organ ) i wish there were more people exposed to the organ- !(beyond this almost ubiquitous assumption that these are antiquated instruments that sit in the church ) and/or take an interest in the music that Bach, Vivaldi, St. Saens, etc wrote for this magnificent instrument. - ☆*sigh * ' - oh well , their loss!!! Thanks for the links to sheet music in the description , that is an oft 'overlooked' issue as more and more people seek digital , or other means to acquire sheet music. I just read your history today and i could tell by the performance of the Bach "air" , that you , at the very least - were an incredible organist. Ive yet to listen to one i wasnt immediately impressed with. I do play , -28 yrs piano and maybe about half of that - venturing onto the organ (Allen) at my Presbyterian Church in NC, and really just recieving a few pointers from the forner organist. Even though this wasn't originally intended to be a "religious" (or rather Church-based) cantata by Bach, I always hear this played more often around Christmastime. Fleece Navidad!

Mr. Twillert is a phenomenal Bach organist. I grew up on E. Power Biggs and have almost every Bach organ he played. I have compared all organists to Biggs. In how the tempo, style and registration is. Mr. Twillert has much the same

I agree with +soundnicetome that this is slightly on the fast side. Of course this is a personal opinion, there is no right and wrong. In any case, a beautiful transcription, beautifully played on a great organ.
I searched long for a perfect tempo and I am glad in my way that I found te right tempo for me. In my opinion you can better play a little too fast as too slow.
Bach was a prodigy in pursuit of mathematical perfection of music without any compromise for flattering the powerful and wealthy (unlike Mozart), yet having managed to create such sweet tunes quite like this.
