- In today's vlog, I head out to look at another Chiang Mai Condo. I've been living in the same Thailand apartment for 3 years now and I've been thinking about getting a new condo in the future. This will be the first of a few Thailand condo vlogs coming on the channel. Today I go to look at CM CONDO GARDEN, south of Chiang Mai City. Wayne, have you ever considered any of the D Condo's or Supalai Monte 1 and 2? I used to live in D Condo Sign and the gym and pool are world class. The room was a little small, but I lived in it no problem for 3 years. I only paid 6900 baht a month and that included the full use of the amenities and electricity was cheap. I'm not sure if those sorts of condos are your cup of tea, but I thought I'd mention it anyway. Great video brother. Keep them coming.
Hi Jason, I've never really considered the D Condos, but that's not because I don't like them, they are great places. I'm in D Condo a lot, many friends stay there, and I was dating a girl from D Condo. The pool is awesome and all the area around the pool.

It's not a bad place, needs a bit of a clean up but could be a good place for someone. The road isn't to good but and you would need transport.

Great idea to do Condo Vlogs It's really good to see what's on offer and what you can get if you shop around. I liked that place, except for the bed in the 2 room Condo, which would need to get swapped immediately 😀😀😀 The view was AMAZING 😎 Looking forward to seeing a few more places too. Thanks Monica. The views was top notch but the rooms could do with a little TLC. Not the worst place in the world and still a good deal but not a place for me. The furniture was a bit old.

Agree with you Wayne. The two bedroom unit had an amazing view but looked pretty tired. Restaurants and traffic sewers don't mix IMO. That cafe on the main road is the last place I'd go for a bite to eat. Any chance of you checking out Chang Phueak area just north of Lanna hospital? Looks great on street view. Hopefully I will get back to CM later this year.
It could do with some maintenance Doug, it was a little worse for wear. I will be out and about at some other places mate, wherever my toes take me. I'm sure i'll be over Chang Phueak at some point.

One bedroom unit to me would be considered a single unit without the proper separate bedroom, but I do prefer the layout of the one bedroom unit. The deal breaker would be no elevator
I agree Dennis, the maintenance is a bit shabby on this place. It could be a good place. Not for me but i'm sure some would be able to make it a home. Thanks.

My big thing is whether I can enjoy my time in the condo or feel like I have to escape. These fail for me. Bigger studios also seem to make more sense than 1 bedrooms for a single person. Keep it up as this is helpful to many.

It's not a bad place Lee, good price for 2 bedroom. It would need a proper clean up and would need transport but it could make for a cool pad. Cheers man
I would do that condo in a minute! I love the view of nature and of the mountain, the two bedrooms is most unusual. I could do things online and be happy as a pig in mud!
It's a nice place Beverly, bit of spring cleaning and putting your own stamp on the place would make it a nice condo. The view was great. 🙏

Hey Wayne, many places allow you do to month to month or 3 month deals, yeah? It just be a little more money, yeah? I don't want to be there in February when burning season starts.
It's getting harder and harder to find short term contracts these days , but you can find places yes.

Can anyone tell me what is considered a normal rate for a unit of power in CM? Been told I should avoid "government rate", but idk...?
If it is your own house, 4+ THB/kWh. Renting an apartment, 4-8 THB/kWh.
As far as I know, you should be looking for government rate not avoiding it since it's cheaper? About 4.5 baht a unit. A lot of hotels etc will ask for 8 to 10 baht per unit.
As mentioned below, if you can get the Government rate, that's what you want.

What would you say the most affordable and modern condo there in Chaing Mai is w 2 bedrooms. My sister n I are planning on moving down but houses we wanted just went under year contracts. Thank you for always showing areas
Hi, that's to difficult to answer with so many great condos in Chiang Mai. Find an area you like first and then look around at some places. That would be my advice. Thanks.
One thing I can tell about Condo in Chiang Mai is the view around the city it's near greeny more than BKK.

Nicely done Wayne! That water price per unit is 13bht not 30bht. I say that because that's what I pay and my electric is 5bht p/unit. Useful and informative vlog, keep e'm coming mate!

Another great Volga Wayne I didn't like any of the condos at all too close to high way first one the views were good but it looked like it was put together pretty poorly and was so dated second no except the bathroom please keep doing more Volgs on condos for rent even small stand alone bungalows if possible

You always compare the places you tour to your current place. How about you show your current place, as you seem to make it cheaper and better than most of the other places you show(5 - 6.5K baht)? I plan on working remotely for 3 months their to see if I could consider retirement there. Plan to stay in near Malin Plaza. Any recommendations for 18000 baht/month, but preferably way less with pool, gym, clothes washer in unit?
I keep a few things to myself Lucas, where i live is one of them things, for obvious reasons. My place is nothing special but i still haven't found anywhere else i like. You will find something nice around Malin, for a lot less. I might do some condo reviews around that area soon. Thanks

It looks like you never lock up you bicycle, no issues with theft? I live in Portland, Oregon, USA and theft is a huge problem the homeless have bike "chop shops".

Needlessly big beds and no decent armchair for reading are the curse of Thai apartments. The first one is a lot of space for the money. But maybe you're paying for what you don't need. (I've bust my arse learning 100 Thai verbs, and boy they're useful. All the way through this I was meau rai kow-sen-chai saang?, dee aukamlangai, berrtt,😂 But as my pal says, you think you're doing so well, but the tones are all off, and they don't know what you're saying!)
You could get a chair for cheap up the road. I ended up buying one for my room.

Them condos too far from city I know it's up to individual but I'm a City person In my house electric 4baht unit my water average 80 baht monthly

@@WalkAboutWayne I prefer to ve a bit nearer MAYA, like Vanilla Residence as a cyclist is great plus no need for a scooter as you can walk most places. Maybe next time I'm up, I'll look for an apartment for a few months?
