Really liked the last room showed at 12000 baht. I need a stove top lol. If only the cheaper rooms had stove tops. Also, not having an on premise gym might be a problem for me. All around nice looking property. I hope those prices hold until I get to Chiang Mai in January (though I doubt it). Thanks for the video! New sub here.
I really liked the big room also. You could put a mini cooker outside on the balcony but it's not the same as a kitchen inside. I think these will be the set prices now for high season. Thanks for the sub, great to have you on the channel.

I spent time in Chiang Mai Mmmany years ago and been looking for about a year for a place to escape the U.S. to, and your videos have me thinking Chiang Mai is likely my best option!

@@WalkAboutWayne Back in the late 80' and 90's I though it was one of the most livable place in Asia. I lived in Penang and preferred it to Chiang Mai back then but from what I see on line Penang looks like it's went downhll. Just before the War I had planned to try Tblisi and Turkey but a lot o ex-pats are fleeing Georgia and Turkey for Thailand, if you get a big influx of Russians and Ukrainians along with Europeans and Americans leaving Turkey and Georgia, can't help but wonder if that could change things?

Not bad! Still I would choose the Thai style house in the previous vlog by far. If these condos had a bigger balcony to sit and spacious enough for 2 chairs and table I would consider. But yeah, everyone has different desires I suppose. Good vlog, nice guy as well
I agree. The previous Thai style places was miles ahead IMO. Lower density with a semi rural feel. Also close to food outlests. Further from the old city but on the blue songtheaw route.
Them Thai houses was really nice mate. Lot's of interest in them. I would probably prefer the house as well. Cheers mate.

The 1-bedroom is nice but I think for the price, I would take the medium-sized room at 8000THB/209USD and just buy a hot plate to cook on. I walked around in that area one day and liked the local vibe.
The 8000 room was a nice place and being brand new makes all the difference. Nice area this, not far from downtown.

Hey Wayne great video and amazing value. However I find the location very far from Niiman. Do you know options closer to the expat area?
The reason why I ask is that my intention is to stay for 3 months there and connect with other nomads and be able to go to seminars and such in the area.

That's a really nice place. I'm also partial to showers with dividers. The ones without are a real pet peeve of mine. Makes a mess of the entire bathroom every time I use one. I'd spring for the one bedroom unit. It's still pretty cheap. Nice one, Wayne!
Shower divider is really important Earl. I don't have one in my current place and the floor gets soaked every time. It's such a simple thing to do and makes life a whole lot better. Amiri is a good place mate. Thanks Earl.

I'm not sure about that Simon, but i'm sure something like a mortgage would be available here. Not sure about foreigners though.

Hi Owen, I'm not sure mate?? loads of places I've been in Chiang Mai don't have either. You would have to pay your own Electric and Water for monthly mate.

I think the electric is around 7 and water 200.

All of these places seem more like hotel rooms than apartments, whereas I fail to see kitchen cabinets, or a true kitchen area. They seem more geared for eating out than setting up shop at home. One does not have to pay for a gym; that's +. I wonder what kind of places locals rent, not farangs. This place here would probably keep ants out.
This place is the Ritz for most locals. Most young locals live in rooms a lot older than this. Kitchen area is going to be small. You can find bigger apartments though. Thanks 👍

It always puzzles me, why new builds don't add a gym. It's a nice place though.
Are pests like ants big issues even though one keeps the place clean? I can see potential business opportunities to have a pest control business and makes good money.
I battle with Ants in my place every day Louis. If you leave anything laying about, the Ants will be at it. Good business idea 👍
@@WalkAboutWayne A trick I use to get rid of them is to put some foods that ants like in a dish and put it in the middle of plastic container filled with water. They will drown when they try to swim to get the foods. Hope that helps.

These condos/apartments look nice, but I would wager that they are noisy as hell, with no real soundproofing. Just like the overpriced ones built here in Canada. Paper thin walls, stomping from upstairs, hear everything going on with the downstairs neighbours etc.. Hot water can be a problem in Thailand, according to some vloggers.
