Well folks not long now until I'm going to be back in the saddle and have to say it feels like it's been forever, as mentioned in the video we had to sell the GS to pay clear some debts off as Faye has been made redundant and possibly won't have a full-time job until at least September after the summer half term, so in this video we take a look round our local dealer just to try and make sense of it and see what our next step could possibly be.

Good luck to you Shaun and Faye
Hey guys, good luck with the jobs and bike hunting, fingers crossed for you, and thanks for the mention!!!😎👍👍Simmo😘
Cheers pal thanks for the help 👍
Hi both. That was hard watching seeing Shaun in a mix of thoughts. I really hope you have some good luck very soon. But be positive for the future as I'm sure things will work out for the both of you..X
Thanks Frank yeah fingers crossed 🤞
Chin up fella, you'll get there 😉good luck with the job hunting Faye.
Aww thank you 😊
Best of luck for a bike and I hope Faye gets a job soon 🏍️🏍️🏍️
Cheers pal hopefully back on track soon
Chin up Shaun things happen for a reason, hopefully Faye will get another job soon ,shame you had to sell the GS believe me I've been there if things don't go to plan then my car and bike which I've only had for 2 weeks might be going, good luck in getting a ride for the tour cheers to both of you
Yeah needs and bills gotta come 1st , hopefully we'll get some good news in the coming weeks 👍
"Shaun's a mizzo" 😆
That's a t-shirt slogan right there 😎
Haha gonna get em done for the tour 🤪
I do feel for you Shaun. After a little situation on the road I decided to get rid of my bike however only managed 6 months without a bike in my life and have now got a little Triumph Speed 400 and feel so much better. Hope you find something soon.
Yeah hopefully it won't be to long now
Come on Honda, Shaun loves the Africa twin, give him a press bike with DCT, be a good test with the painful finger with the benefit of no clutch 👍🤞
Haha i wish pal 👍
I have “the old man bike” Royal Enfield SM 650 and I love it Shaun. You get a lot for your money! Yes, it heavy and the rear shocks need replacing but it’s a fantastic bike mate ! 👍
@pete147 actually love them hoping for a test ride this weekend
Have you considered CF Moto?Take a look at their 800 MT. Outstanding bike for the money.
Yeah great value bikes we tried a few at the bike show but the ktm link puts me off a bit
Hi Shaun + Faye, I must say I'm gutted for you Faye, losing your job hope you find a similar job soon, good luck mate. Gutted for you Shaun the GS has gone and off on your ride to Portugal hope you find the bike that you want and I hope your treatment is going well for you. I hope you get the bike you want soon, I'll catch you both soon, Take care
Cheers pal hopefully we'll have something sorted in next few weeks 👍👍
I've seen a cracking bike for sale on EB,and it's one you've had before Big H! It's a black one with gold wheels and it's only done 3,900 miles, it's at a bike shop in Middlesbrough, Have a look 😊
Haha actually been looking at cb1300's 👍
I hope faye gets a new job soon and i hope shaun finds his dream bike i am like faye i have the honda rebel 500 i pick up on sat i would like to know where did you get your luggage rack and what make is it and what other bits do you have on your bike. many thanks.
Hi there i love my rebel and can't wait to take it to Spain in a few weeks , both the rear rack and the crash bars are givi items it has generic bar risers but other than that it's pretty standard
Mine are standard controls Faye , not a lover of the forward controls , have a great trip x
Thought they where Bri as don't remember being so stretched out 😊
Both the KTM and the Kawasaki suited you, looking forward to seeing what new machine you choose! 👍🏍🏍👍
Cheers pal don't know what to do yet heads mashed with it all
Put it towards a coffee (you cant buy much else with it !!) Thanks and good luck with the bike search and life in general, its hard going at times as i know very well 👍🏽
Aww thanks so much will definitely put towards a nice brew 😊
Plenty of DCT ATs out their at good prices .
Yeah been having a good nosey 👍
Things happen in life which you can't control but as long as you come out the other side that's what matters.
Yes very very true .. not for the sake of trying but we'll get there 👍
It sucks not having a bike. I hope you can sort somit for the trip 🙂
Yeah looks like I'm gonna have to borrow something, just been a tough few months pal but shit happens eh
@@TinsonTour it does, but we survive and overcome 💪
Hey Shaun you stay at home with your poorly little pinky and Faye can come with me. I'm currently in Italy but willing to help a damsel in distress needing to experience riding on the wrong side of the road. 😂
Me and my wife's life's have changed in the last 2 years with my wife being off work due to illness and me collapsing last year and nearly died puts everything into perspective I suppose.
So so sorry pal and yeah in the space of a week ours was the same, how u doing now ?
@TinsonTour doing OK thanks it's been a very slow and frustrating recovery back to some kind of health but getting there .hope you get sorted OK and chin up fella .
As Fay has around 50bhp in power. Maybe consider buying an old fazer 600 off Ebay for around 2k.
At least you will own it outright.
Should of kept the fazer 600 we had it was a cracker
Was in there yesterday putting a deposit down on the black vstrom 1050 de thats in the far corner. Trading in my thunderbird 1600, loved the tbird but wanted to free up some cash and decided to do a pcp as suzuki are doing a good deal at the moment. Also Kevin was telling me that they now come with the panniers as part of the deal. So might be something to consider for yourselves? Im also sure the 800 de comes with the cases too.
Was done with adventure bikes but god knows at the moment 👍
@@TinsonTour haha this will be my first one. 🤣I was after another cruiser at first, but for something new there's not much choice and they are all bloody expensive. Needed something big enough for me and my lad to get out on and something i can use for work too and the occasional trip away. So the vstrom seemed to fit the bill. Good luck with the search and with the pinky. :)
Thanks
Thank you so much 😊
Nearly got the 1100 Rebel, got the new GSX instead, matt black, loved it. Iooked at the REs, but they too heavey and way low on the HP. Currently on the 2024 Duke but only after extensive research, heard some bad stuff about them but all that is fixed and wow what a beast of a bike, but I only keep bikes for a year then trade up. Next bike coming in 2025. Ride safe😁.
Yep same here next bike is number 39 👍
The Z900RS would be a spanking bike.
I sold my KTM 890 Adventure and bought a Tenere 700. It was a tough decision but I wanted to get back on a Yamaha again.
Supposed to sell my Husqvarna 501 this coming weekend took a short ride on it and I'm having second thoughts. Bikes & Life will drive us crazy!
Love the z900rs prob my fave bike at the moment 👍
Faye reminds me of Brenda Wilson in the 1990's sitcom "Watching". Has Shaun had a look at the CF Moto range, their 700MT (Multifunctional Tourer) looks great and it is now reduced from £6299 to £5699. If you want more power, there is the 800MT at £6799. They are both certainly worth considering if you are on a budget.
Funny you should say that as Fayes mum was the absolute spit of her ... as for CF moto it's really hard to ignore the prices and some of the bikes look proper nice in their own rite
Cool…. Enjoy ! I’ve just subscribed mate !
Aww thank you so much 😊
Z900RS is a great bike, good fun, sounds great but zero wind protection and limited luggage options which is why I sold mine. If I was looking for a low cost, bomb proof reliable tourer, there's a standout candidate, the V Strom 650. The bikes up to 2008 look better than the 2009-2016, then the 2017 to date bikes look better altogether. I'd have a 50k mile 2008 V Strom tomorrow confident that it wouldn't let me down. A decent one costs £1800 upwards and you'll get the vast majority of your money back when you sell it. Good luck with your search.
Yeah ride vstroms in Gran Canaria most years although I'm pretty much done with adventure bikes and like the old days (yep I'm old) a roll bag on the back seat is plenty ... it'll work out finger's crossed
New bike. Oh not again haha 😂 how many is that now. Joking…..best of luck for the search guys
Haha next bike will be bike 39 🤣 not by choice this time though
Hi Shaun & Faye, great and more importantly honest vid. Of the struggles that go on. Not trying to advertise but my Dad has a Honda CB500 FA 2022 in black/copper. It has only 600 Miles from new. Not trying the sales pitch but just an idea if you were stuck, he’s 72 and just doesn’t use it. May not be your thing. Just a thought 👍
Could actually be a plan pal , heads absolutely mashed with it all at the moment 👍
All the best for your trip next month, I’m off to France in August too, and I’d be distraught to think I couldn’t make it. Good luck with the bike hunt, seriously if it was me, I wouldn’t be looking at new, loads of good bikes that would do the trip while finances are uncertain. A Mk2 Versys 1000 GT can be had for £7k, taken on the holiday and resold for the same money. KTM 1050 would be another good choice, often overlooked but still a great option, and some options from Honda like AT or 750X with DCT or how about the 800 V4 Crossrunner or 1200 Crosstourer?
Yeah wouldn't dream of buying new just trying for size , heads a bit mashed with it all and don't wanna spend out on a bike just for the tour but sure something will turn up 👍
I wouldn't hesitate to buy a CF Moto 450 MT if being new and the budget were the deciding factors. There is the 800 too if more oomph is needed.
Only hearing good things about them at the moment 👍
Get your self on a test ride on that himalayan and put the seat up you might be surprised how fast they are now I have a new one here
Yeah great 1up and very very tempting although we still go 2up fully loaded every now and again so it's a proper hard choice ... decisions to be made
@@TinsonTour we go two doesn't make any difference to it I shit you not
SX1000 is cheaper than the z900, though not at millennium, seen a 24 40th anniversary colours SX for £10250 at Bournemouth Kawasaki , seen for £9800 in standard colours, worth a consideration 👌
Did you get recognised lots at the ABR? I managed to get a picture with, Kate, TMF and then you guys within the space of an hour 😆
Yeah loads this time .. Still feels weird as we are just normal working folk that have a giggle
You could always borrow my Honda Goldwing DCT which would be good for your left hand , let me know if you don't get sorted .
John
Cheers John that's an unbelievable offer and so kind I'll defo keep that in mind ...
Kawasaki Z650 would probably fit the bill....fast enough and way cheaper than the 900
You could see if Richy V will lend you a bike?
Haha yeah he doesn't need all them does he 🤣🤣
@@TinsonTour yeah you need an Africa Twin and V strom 😂
Ktm 😳 Don’t do it 🤷🏻
Not really any intention of doing , used to race Ktm's in beach racing back in the late 80s they wasn't very reliable back then
13:07 you've found your new bike 😄
Haha better than what I've got 🤣
@@TinsonTour you’re an adventure bike man at heart
@djhowse u know what I'm not really a lover of adventure bikes only got into them for fully loaded 2up touring
@@TinsonTour 😵well knock me down with a feather! Interesting that Millennium are now KTM dealers though. I live in Formby and pop in there from time to time, very friendly guys.
Have a look mc moto adventure or 800 sport
Regardless of £££fortunes you have each other. You’ve got great chemistry and things will work out. If you look for a reliable cheap touring bike get an old v strom 650 and sell it when you get back.
I had a horrible injury in my 40s and lost job I loved and got put in an office because of my injuries.25 yrs ago)
I was in a very bad place and still can be sometimes. If messes with your head as well as physically.
On an aside I wish Faye had been my art teacher. I went to a strict boys school and the art teacher was a brick outhouse loved caning the boys and was a homosexual!!! Feared by boys and masters alike😂😂😂
Honestly don't know what to do but buying and selling is definitely an option 👍
@@TinsonTourI ve had hyper bikes, tourers and my vstrom will do it all. Dont let 650 put u off. Buy and sell easy but you prob like it. Had a dct myself but didn’t feel like a motorcycle🤷🏻♂️
@volt8684 yeah rode the vstrom 650 a few time in Gran Canaria loved it plus faye had the sv650 that i used to take out
@@TinsonTourmy daughter had an A2 sv
Cb650r with new e clutch. If you are OK with a mid range 4. Clutch looks brill. Or ex clutch I should say 😂
It'll look like a monkey bike with me on it 🤣🤣
@@TinsonTour I.m 6ft 4 and have a monkey. It's brilliant. Except on mway so I rarely go there. Comfy. Not worried what I look like. Just as well really 🤣 good luck with bije and finger and job. My bsa in at millenium at moment. Checks. Or recall really.
Good god do not get a 890 Adventure, I owned a brand new 2023 890 Adventure and it was nothing but glitches for three months before I got rid of it. Never i my life have I had turn signal failures, fuel level sensor failure, front wheel hopping and the horrible cold start problems!
Shame when they look so nice , not owned a ktm since my race motocross bike in the late 80s so looking like reliability is still an issue 👍
Trk 702 got to be in the 🏃♀️ yes / no .
Just unproven reliability but otherwise absolutely 👍
Hi Fella. Colchester Kawasaki are knocking out new BSA's for £4999 + otr costs
I can get 1 even cheaper direct pal ... very tempting
Blimey. Who is knocking them out even cheaper than Kawasaki Colchester?
@oldbloke9270 everywhere has got 1k off at the moment.. with using a press bike i can get a small discount
Go for the Kawasaki z900rs
Prob my fave bike at the moment 👍
I just bought a 56 plate 1200 bandit s with under 16000 miles on it, for less than 2 grand. I could tour europe on it and still make 500 quid on if I sold it. New bikes are a rip off these days.
Yeah I'd never buy a new bike these days , owned 38 bikes and only 1 was new z1000 when they 1st came out , actually had 2 bandits with pipes and ignition advancers went proper well
What have you done to your finger
Accident at work
CF Moto..same bike but half the price..
Tbh absolutely no intentions of buying a ktm just having a nosey round 👍
You should have kept your African twin 😢 some how I just can't see you on a Enfield, hope you get sorted 😂
Haha yeah was a cracking bike but shocking build quality
Kawasaki W800🤔
Do actually like them
Don’t go the KTM route fella, so unreliable….
I know yeah used to race them in the late 80's wasn't much better back then 🤣🤣
@@TinsonTour I tested one before purchasing my H2 SXSE among many other bikes, bloody thing broke down 10 mins into the test🫣Waited two hours for them to recover me!
Believe it or not but the ones made in India are meant to be more reliable.
