Don’t give a toss what top-rod two swims down has caught or whatever he’s up too. Well done on the catch, a right result from a casual social, Will always be talked about with the mates you went with. 👍

I think in the future we will see more fisherys like holme fen it's just the way things are changing there will be a time when abroad is here !!....carp anglers are always wanting the bigger fish it's like a natural progression (some like the old special ones I know )

Problem now is…where do you go? I dropped out of the carp scene around 17 years back, for pretty much the same reason, had nowhere left to go. I personally went off and learnt to fly fish and started chasing new targets, it’s been this long since I got back into carp which I’m doing now.

I’d hazard a guess that it was about 30lb when it was put in myself.. still a lovely fish but it’s not really a UK fish. I don’t do social media myself so I hadn’t heard anything about it till I saw it on mainlines TH-cam channel - but I have been a carp angler for 40 years now & I knew something wasn’t right there. Good luck to the fella who caught it tho he seems a genuinely nice guy. I would still like to catch it don’t worry about that ha ha 👍🏻 PS mainiline do make a decent bait - the link or cell do take some beating & the hook bait dips really harden up a bait as well as add attractant (I’m not all negative you know😂)
