Congratulations Simon , there are no shortcuts to success. To target a single fish in a water of that size and with a large stock of fish takes watercraft above everything else , the bait , the rig and skill in your angling ability = reward . It blows my mind how big carp are getting, to think as a 14 year old in Yorkshire catching a 21 mirror in 1988 was a good fish.

I live 15 minutes away from Pendle view. I used to go every month to try and catch butthead absolutely incredible fish. I never had the pleasure of catching it though. I was abit in experienced back then. Love to see butthead is still thriving and getting bigger and bigger. Incredible fish
Wow, Congratulations fella, Questions, What rods are you using, for a beast of that proportion there wasn't a lot of bend in that rod, Question 2, Is that the rig that you have been using from way back when?. ( followed you ramblings for years) I can't chuck a soft braided rig out into the pond without extreme paranoia getting the best of me, is it tangle is it not.

Man Simon, first of all big big gratulation on your catch, what a unit. This reminds me of a big common i have to catch, very low stock, very frustrating water. The catches are all one offs. The fish came from the river rhine 15 years ago with 40+ and he bulked up to over 50. Have to try again. You inspired me...
