When I use aistandardhair, my image has all of those white specular dots. I can't seem to increase aa or specular settings or anything to get a clean image. Does anyone know what is wrong. I'm just a hobbiest.
I have a question about using Arnold 5 with fur. I wonder how you would color fur region with diffuse map? Cause I create a custom color map plus userDataColor and plug it into Base_color but it didn't work as it should work like in arnold 4. Please help me on fur.
The hair object in the Outliner is listed as "Description1" which is the default name for an XGen groom. You can create the hair in XGen and convert it to curves or geometry; the new Maya has XGen Interactive Groom which is a more direct & easy way to do it, which takes care of all the tedious intermediary steps.

no , In This new Arnold render v5 as I test it in Maya environment ( for other software/s no Idea ) is absolutely rubbish for me , very slow , removing some of the important shader like SSS skin , Hair ... And worst mishap is for our older projects which made them functionless completely Please consider everything before installing

Arvin Please be honest and don't make escape anything . For applying the gradient to the hair , applying 2d texture is base of the emitter surface UV . But in this video UV is based on the hair strands Which is very fantastic But Seems You escape something related to UV to the hair then U going to unnecessary parameters . which is not very important .
I mean why the fuck do i have to duplicate my meshs faces in order for my hair to grow at specific places... is there a way to select or paint where i want my hair to grow....

black hairs at 1:16 ? are they created from fiber mesh zbrush ? i am confused how to get thses type of hairs in maya

and how do i get my hair to move with the mesh cause when i move the mesh the hair doesn't move with it and ends up staying in one place.

i do use xgen my problem is why does it suck compered to c4d hair simulation (in terms of ease of use)
