Hi Lisa, I exactly have the same issue with my Bose multi-cd changer. I will try to follow what you did. Hope my device works too. As you may know, Bose has discontinued producing it so there are no parts available and they do not even do any repairs for it anymore.

I really appreciate your vid, I have one that stopped working also but I couldn't get to the lens to try and clean it, now I know how to get to it better after watching your vid thanks! I sure hope this is the problem. It kind of looked like somebody put oil on the spindle as if that might be the problem, might be a mess but I'm going to go for it.

I have a question, I have a Bose Wave acoustic II system. The 5 disc changer won’t play/eject the discs that are in it. How can I take the unit apart and get the CD’s out? Are there any precautions I should be aware of?
I got a used Wave Acoustic CD-3000. The radio works great. The CD player spins the CD and the display shows it started but does not begin to play. There is a soft clicking sound and will not play. I have tried different discs. What is the likely cause?

Hello Karl. The first thing I would suggest is purchase a CD player cleaning disc. Be careful handling the disc because it will contain tiny bristles on the underside. These bristles are what will clean the optical lens when its spinning and if you accidentally bend the bristles, they will not clean the lens properly. You can purchase a CD cleaning disc at your local Walmart, Target or Amazon. On Amazon you can get the Allsop Ultra Lens Cleaner. www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00000J1QM/ref=ox_sc_act_image_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1 If that doesn't work then a manual lens cleaning will be required and/or drive realignment. Last possible culprit is a logic board issue if the above suggestions do not resolve your issue. Honestly it's hard for me to give a proper diagnosis without the unit in front me. Hello Lance, Without physically looking at the unit, there can be numerous possibilities why it doesn't spin. Could be actual logic board issue, could be needing a realignment, could be a broken part, could be broken pin on the connectors that connect from the bottom unit to the main unit, etc. Visit a few of my other videos and see if something matches your situation. Lisa Great video! Bose customer service isn’t providing much help. I get the disk error on Drives 2, 3 and 4. However, the disk doesn’t get ejected from the system. Is there a way to manual eject the disks? Importantly I need the cd’s I’ll eventually follow the video to address the other issues.
If the eject command is not being recognized by the unit, unfortunately the only way to remove the stuck or jammed CDs is by opening the unit and manually remove them. Depending on how bad the CDs are stuck, the removal process can go smoothly or could be difficult. Tread lightly if you wish to do this yourself because you can easily break the CD and/or cause additional damage the drive mechanism.
@@zzt22t08 Ok so you removed the stuck CDs this is that correct? When do you receive the disk error message - during the startup phase? or when you insert a CD and press play? does the CD spin? do you have any audio output?
@@irepairidevices Yes that's correct I was able to remove the stuck CDs. I receive the disk error during the startup phase when the CD is inserted into any of the drives 2,3 or 4. The CD isn't spinning however I can see the gear on the right moving. Audio is only heard through the console disk 1
@@zzt22t08 Without seeing your unit mostly have a broken part on the drive mechanism. Since the failure occurs during the startup phase - The startup phase performs two tests. The first test, you will hear a bunch of clicking. Those are the drives arms turning on/off its corresponding switch. Then you will hear a buzzing sound this is when the drive mechanism raises and lower. If the error occurs during that part, you definitely have a broken part. Which one??? Its hard to tell without seeing the unit itself.

I have the Bose Wave System iv , It only plays a single disc at a time , I don't have a multi changer system . I played one disc , ejected first disc & attempted to insert another disc , it said reading disc , but, the disc did not get taken into the machine , in a few seconds the screen read disc error . I assumed some might be wrong with the disc , even though it was brand new , never played . I got 3 other discs and had the same results . I am very upset , I have only used the machine , mostly radio , maybe the disc player a total of 3 times . Any suggestions ? Anyone else had this issue ? Thank you
Can you tell if the machine is trying to pull the CD in and the CD just sits on the outside? OR when you push the CD in, you are met with resistance and nothing happens?

@@irepairidevices Met with resistance & nothing happens , CD just sits there & machine reads reading CD for a few seconds until it says CD error.
