To be fair, goods in Europe are easier to ship around. America is massive, and difficult to move around in without a car. Passenger service is heavily underutilized here, the simplest terms we need big trains to ship all those goods at once, I have noticed European trains are much smaller probably due to better logistics, these trains in all their glory, hog up a lot of space. There is actually an even more relatable way to think of it, imagine you’re hauling grocery bags from one place to another place close by, you either take a few trips with a few bags each time, which is kinda how europe hauls it’s goods, where as here in the states we take all the grocery bags at once meaning only in one trip. This was really hard to describe, greetings from Rhode Island! The smallest US state!
all these awesome trains, but there are none better than NS with that horse on the logo. 31, great shot 49, nice, 61 of course and 81... 82, thats how people get killed, idiot 93 is cool 1:16:17 great, 1:17:04, even better 97, spectacular 100! an awesome ending. a very enjoyable video. great work. thank you.
When I was a little kid I lived next to the railroad line. Then when I was about 8 my family moved to a town where there were no tracks. And that crushed me. And still does
In my neighborhood next to my house which is in the corner, used to be freight trains loved it, then they changed it TO THE SMART TRAIN A BERY LOUD TRAIN
I comprehend and understand what you mean. When I was young, we used to live ear train tracks and, the family used to take me to go see the trains go by. Happy times.
0:46 Its CSX 7927! Its an EX LMS dash 8 and it has high mounted ditchlights instead of ditchlights on the plow like the rest. My favorite unit. to bad it was scrapped
Wonderful video. Beautifully shot, great visual and audio! The variety of trains and locations is astounding. At 18:30 there's a shot of the Lake State Railway train and the camera pulls back as the train comes forward. It's so well done. Was it done with a reverse zoom or were you walking backwards?
What a spectacular RR video. The grace and pace are so beautiful! This is your masterpiece! No excessive babbling, every video is a perfect angle, and endless venues. I believe the attraction is in the trains, the sound of the engines, and not the endless lecture on "manifest, engine numbers (who cares? really), how close cars come to getting hit. The reason i watch is for the solace, grandeur, serenity, beauty, and amazing physics involved with RR's. If i want a lecture, the Ted series is terrific. If i want incredible action, motorcycle chases, police chases, or Russian fatal collisions. Tip: the damn bell at the crossing is ANNOYING. Go further down the track and stick a rag on the clapper of those bells. Absolutely unnecessary. And the horn. OMG. That is as obtrusive as cold water on the face in bed. Get away from the horns and the crossing. I can drive my car down to the corner for that show. Keep them trains rolling. If a fly lands on the hood of the cab, do they blow that horn? Trains and their power plants are relaxing. Their horns are from hell. 🇺🇸🌞‼️
Do you happen to have a list where each train is filmed? My four-year-old is obsessed with freight trains only and we are trying to guess where all the different trains are traveling through.
I'll pass. I prefer to not give out permission as a general rule, since it is too hard to keep track of and it is not worth the risk on my part. I hope you will understand.
Not a negitive nanacy and love trains but cold never expect any one to watch this hole video mabe about 20 years ago if it was only video i could watch and its snowing out
Oscar Carmona they're states in the Midwest. A majority of these trains are in Michigan and Illinois. That's why you're seeing Trains from the west (UP, BNSF) Canada (CN, CP) And The east (NS, CSX).
42:29 looks like it might be Utah or Arizona. Any of the BNSF or UP trains with a ton of containers likely started in Los Angeles and are heading for Chicago. :3
Beautiful sunset/sunrise on no 13 :)
Freight trains over there are far longer/bigger than here in the UK.
I wish we had those in Europe
same

thanks very entertaining.
let me know when you release "10000 America Freight Trains"
I heard it's over 10 hours long.
Some very good shots, but I wish they could be captioned to show where the footage was taken. Turning detective I guess most was in Michigan.
How do you only have 50k SUBS?? I love your vids btw.
Yeah that's strange, on 50K subs and over 2 Million views of this video alone.

2:30 are those Huron&Eastern?
At the time the leader (3390) and 3391 were MQT engines, now they are indeed HESR.
Thornapple River Rail Series thanks

Yes I believe so
Why did the North American long sturdy freight trains get to be the so longest parades on their North American long sturdy freight train wheels?
NIce video. I'm curious where train #49 was shot, interesting rock formation.
Echo, UT on Union Pacific's famed Wahsatch Grade.
I love American freight trans 😋
27:25 My favorite train! INSANE SD70ACE LEADER 😮😮😮
what places will we see trains in the video?
Truly one of the greatest shows on earth!!!
I love trains 💖 🌙🌙🌙 🌙🌙🌙
excellent
I'm guessing the lead unit of train 2 was ex Conrail?
Yes, the marker lights are a giveaway
Great guess! 100% correct, can always tell a conrail by the nose numbers and top lights and is painted over by CSX
amazing
2:22 COOLEST HORN EVER
Ns and bnsf productions ikr
Footage 21 has 6 diesel engines, are they all powered during transit ??
I believe only 3 or 4 were online
Most likely they are moving power to another location... So prob 3 are in service the rest are cut out
nice video jingle foam
Why the rail route not electrified?. In India EMD and ALCO loco similar to the above locos is there. Now ALCO loco is gradually replaced by EMD Loco.
These are not electric locomotives, these are Diesel engines and don’t need electricity from the tracks.
Good studio sweets
24:02 What kind of horn is that?
Leslie RS5T
Thornapple River Rail Series ok thanks.
It's a Leslie.
Do you happen to have a list where each train is filmed? My four-year-old is obsessed with freight trains only and we are trying to guess where all the different trains are traveling through.
No, but they're almost exclusively in Michigan, Ohio and Indiana.
If you have a particular clip or two in mind, I know where all of them were taken, I just don't have a list.

Train 19 is the thumbnail
What are those rail cars the NS train is pulling at 20:35?
Those are coil cars. Under the hoods they place steel coils. The hoods keep out moisture to prevent rust.
TomStick91 no they are not
Coil cars
birds and stuff yes they are. Coil cars are shaped kind of like tankers. But they put malleable stuff inside.
They are called coil cars.
NO 13 IS THE BEST ONE EVER
Callum&Maddie1992 😶😠
Beautiful video! What video cameras were used to produce this film?
This video was all a Sony PJ790V, as noted in the description.
Great footage! I remember seeing some of those shots on separate uploads. Haha.
21:17 nice BNSF train 21:49 what is the name of that train?
We’re was train number 23 shot at if you don’t mind me asking
Durand, Michigan
I would like to see more train 🚞 videos.
This video would be soooooooo much better if you could post the state and city of every clip!
I almost did, but I decided against it because it was going to be a lot of additional work and I had other projects in the pipeline to get moving on!
Very, very, good!
16:14 New personal record! Seven front engines spotted!
13 is cool
the train in the very beginning gave off ghost train vibes
I love train in phillipines PNR railway
29:12 thats a deep K5HL!
On USA locos why do the two bottom lights flash sometimes please
To increase visibility
To Warren drivers we are not the only country that have flashing ditch lights
4:40 Isn't that a Canadian Train?
CN train but still in the US. Both CN and CP have extensive US properties
After watching this,I think malaysia train looks smaller
i think they are. i think even the rails are.. i might be wrong im no expert i just was told that once before
the thumbnail looked like a model train
I like this sound choo..choose..
SimCity 4 we got to operate the train so we even won awards for out work with the model we used to design a working simcity 4 electronic arts team
This is a CSX-8542 CSX-8337over right recover that sure over trying to see the red signal over right the cup of that sir over
WHERE IS TRAIN 08 FILMED?
Dunlap, IN on the NS Chicago Line. The signals were removed several years ago.
Would it be ok if I used one of the clips for my George Reeve remake opening video?
I'll pass. I prefer to not give out permission as a general rule, since it is too hard to keep track of and it is not worth the risk on my part. I hope you will understand.
All we have to do was follow the damn train CJ
3:44 Looks like the place where Unstoppable was filmed
Josh Houston besides that you see the train bouncing on the tracks? I just noticed😂😂
8:23 reminds me of an old 90s era K5LA
Stafford Northern Railroad it’s a beautiful horn!😀
Yeah same
Why there bell ring sound in the train video?
All locomotives in the United States are equipped with a bell and a horn to serve as warning devices
You can smell the might of the BNSF engines from the video!
