TRRS 551: Chasing Marquette Rail through Fall Foliage

As the fall foliage rains down in late October of 2020, we chase Marquette Rail on back-to-back days as they peddle freight through the rural woodlands of Lower Michigan.

I live down here in Grand Rapids too and we frequently chase the Marquette Rail and anything else that comes out of the Wyoming Yard. Nice to see that other people are getting content here too

Must be an old UP locomotive leading that train? Interesting to see them be sold off then have the markings stripped off. Good video as usual and good commentary, I enjoy the stuff you guys put out. Keep up the good work.
I live in Grand Rapids and we frequently see the Marquette Rail. It’s just another model with the same color combination as a UP but it is just a Marquette signified engine. However, the engine was a former UP locomotive, but if you look closely you can see the Marquette letters on the side.
@@grrailfan oh cool. It isn't uncommon for railroads to purchase other companies locomotives and simply slap logos on them. I see trains go by with an old southern Pacific locomotive but with UP shields and numbering on the sides. That is cool though that the Marquette Line colors are the same as UP. Thanks for the info!

Former UP locomotive - look close and you’ll see it’s lettered for Marquette Rail
What are slow orders? And why so many?
Slow orders are speed restrictions below the timetable track speed due to issues with the track itself
it seems 3406 has some mechanical issues since its smoking alot more and in the last shot sounds off compared to 3408 and 3389
