  • Hey everyone and welcome back to Iowa Classic Cars! We have a 1960 oldsmobile dynamic 88 two door hardtop today that we are going to work on. This car came from inner-city chicago and was free, but has some engine issues that we will address. Its sad that the car is so rusty and neglected, but it makes it even more worth it to rescue a car in this kind of shape that was destined for the junkyard! Make sure to stick around for future videos on this 60 olds, and if you enjoy old car videos make sure to subscribe for more!
    Thanks for watching!

Dude, are you kidding? She runs, drives, stops, actually has working brake lights, she’s not that rough my man. Right was that 59 that folded in half when you pulled it out of the Tara one and tried to trailer it. That’s rough. This baby is a jewel!! If the frame isn’t junk, that’s a fixer upper for sure. Excellent video Ryan. Big Al.

We had a 60 olds super 88 4 dr sedan growing up. Got it from my grandfather, original owner, around 1965 and had it until around 1974. In Massachusetts and it rusted out just as bad or worse than what you got. The rust got so severe that we junked it. Drive train was awesome, always fired up These are such great cars. If the frame is good maybe it can go to someone that can fix the rust on their own. If too expensive or too far gone to fix rust probably part it out or sell to someone with a good body that can use the parts. Love that fluid speedometer. Ours had that speed warning also. Once my Dad drove it at 120 mph with my brother and I sticking our heads out the window saying go faster Daddy, go faster. Well he did and busted the speedo and it never worked again.

I would love to have that car! It's not a black convertible with fender skirts and 1957 Spinners like my first one was but it's still cool!

She’s really cool! Correct me if I’m wrong - Oldsmobile did *not* use the cheesy X-frame? What kind of shape are the frame and floor/trunk pans in? Someone with good DIY bodywork and metal fabrication skills could make a great car out of it. Lots of potential! But if you had to pay to have it restored, it’s probably not worth it. I’d love to see someone fix it up.

its a modified X frame, but they also use a ladder style frame with an X

I remember as a kid riding in a car of one my dads friend. He had a late fifty, early sixty Caddy that had that speed option. Tbh, I recall it made a lot more noise that that car you just picked up.
