I was mentally broken. My father noticed the change in my mood. He tried to talk to me about that, but every time I thought that i will cry and there is no worth of telling them they will not understand. But when my father asked me today I bursted in tears and spilled everything out of my heart. When my mother came and saw mw crying she yelled at me for crying and asked my father why was I crying. My father told her that I was under pressure for "studies" and was stressing out so bad. And can you imagine what my mother said????
    Here are her words
"You never focus on your studies and always on that damn phone and that is why on this point of time you have to get stressed to complete you left portion. "
I have started to think that there is no point in living at all. Its like a dead soul with a half living body...

I hope you're doing a little better now. She probably can't remember what it was like when she was in school or just has no idea how to deal with the emotions of others and possibly herself. Strive to do what you can, take breathers, and just know that one day you'll have the ability to cut ties if she continues treating you this way. I have a narcissist as a dad so I know it can be hard.

Cling to your father. Tell your mother, with no accusation or anger in your voice, that she hurt your feelings and you don't want to be yelled at when your already hurt, and if she still doesn't seem to care ask her why she's yelling at you, and if yelling is her way of showing her love and care because if it is, that love and care is certainly not getting across. But seriously, cling to your dad, and try to be there for him in his troubles the way he tried to be there for yours. Also, I recommend you listen to the band BTS because they might help you have the words to express yourself.

as a millennial I've noticed something.
Old videos talk about how "the next generation will save the world" and "our kids will do great things" all the way back to the start of video. Newspapers and books printed the same sentiments even farther back.
It's been a game of pass the buck for well over a hundred years.
"I couldn't do it, so I'll pass the buck to my kid. Surely they can do what i couldn't."
No. You want us to do what you procrastinated on and now that the time limit to get it done is coming to an end you can't decide if we're gonna be great and fix it or if we've failed to do it in time.
The problem isn't us, it's YOU for putting the whole world in our laps and doing nothing to help.
YOU failed and now you're yelling at US for YOUR failures???
Shut up and get to work. If you want us to save the world then start being a better example of what you expect us to do about it because WE'RE NOT THE ONES WITH ALL THE POWER.

Whether I'm the wealthy entitled one or the poor scapegoated kid of them. My kids would be gen alpha, if I ever wanted to subject them to this world.

I heard someone commit suicide and heard an elder one say "they died and left their loved ones at such a hard time. No kid should do that. They should tell things to their parents." And i felt the disgust. No one commits suicide without thinking about the things they are leaving their loved ones with. No one eventually goes like "bye i am leaving this world" and dies.. It takes so much effort. Every depressed persom thinks about their loved ones before they take such decision! They prevent themselves so much times just because they can give their people hard times due to their death but when no one feels like caring or giving a hand of help to them when they are down, they can't help it. They tried and tried and then made the decision. Suicide is not normal. If people cared more about someone who is living through everything hard, there would have been less chances of such cases. Everyone deserves a hug, no one deserves to die in this world by such causes at such young age.

Depression and suicide are all too common in the current generation, and the adults, parents, teachers, they all wonder why. They say it’s because we are weak, because we are entitled.
They pushed us into the fires and condemned us for being burnt. Our parents want us to be happy, they want us to learn so that we are able to survive in this world's cruelty.
But they don’t try to stop and think about how we might feel, how the way they treat us makes us develop distrust in them, how it makes us discouraged to talk about our problems in fear that we will be rejected for being different because we were born into a world that had been beaten and bruised.
They tossed us in and expect us to fix the mess the generations before us made, we are the cleanup crew that isn’t being paid for our work and instead criticized because we aren’t “doing our jobs” or because we are “being defiant.” when they should be considering how the weight of their expectations affects us.

@@vaughnrob4548 Hey... I feel you, but after reflecting (in my situation) I realized that it won't give me any positive benefits if I keep making those people (you know who) affect me negatively. So I thought that I'll prove to them how much I'm capable of and make them regret "those days" that I was being helplessly humiliated in front of others that (little do they know) would scar me for life. I know that feeling when they don't take you seriously and it's just sad to think how your mother just missed a perfect opportunity to help you out, especially when you gathered all that courage to share your thoughts, feelings, and opinions... only ending up to feel betrayed and judged. I'm writing this public reply not because for pitying you, but instead I'm doing this out of compassion. I want you (and anyone else who took their time reading this) to think of this or any problem/s you have encountered as an obstacle that God has planned out for you. (to make you stronger and grow brighter as you charge head first into the future) In other words, don't let "them" affect you and accept it as a challenge from them instead. Let's both do our best!

I heard from my phycology teacher that we are The most stressed generation he’s ever seen. Said something’ll never forget. “You guys are expected to do everything but aren’t given the resources to do anything”... really it’s f*cked up. We are overloaded, stressed to the breaking point, given ZERO help for mental health, usually only one (not trained) counselor PER SCHOOL! Half of us want to die everyday and 3/4 of us have extreme anxiety disorders. And we are expected to do MORE the past generations. My parents tell me that there’s nothing to be stressed about. Ok, is 2 papers, read 2 books, 7 pages of math work, with 6 extra worksheets, a science worksheet and lab, history notes, and vocabulary not stressful enough? Oh I forgot, keeping a social profile, keeping up with friends so they don’t ditch you, look right, talk right, hope you don’t look too tired, tell you parents you’re fine, mental breakdowns in school, trying not to fail but you don’t understand, depression in quarantine, the struggle to get out of bed in the morning.....
    is it not enough
We’re just suffering in silence now..

@@hllyenaylleth9576 Who said they did so happily? Japan happens to have the highest suicide rates. Besides, war time and assignments are not comparable. Also being overloaded with work is a perfectly valid reason to be stressed. Not only do we feel overwhelmed, but we also end up sacrificing too much personal time, missing out on family events and holidays, blowing off friends and families, losing relationships and friendships due to distance, etc., all just to keep up with assignments and stay on top of the class. Lack of human interaction, personal time with hobbies, and hygiene is really bad for one's mental health, and it also causes the type of loneliness that hits you like a truck and eats you inside at 3am when you've finally finished the assignments and studying you started at 5pm.

These “issues” seem to be self-created issues. With all due respect to the speaker here, he’s clearly missing the mark and making excuses.
We have gotten to a point to where life is truly SO GOOD, then we must create problems to “fix”… everything is solved; generation Z just needs to be more innovative. I can see how that is difficult, given the massive strides made in the past 200 years, particularly the past twenty years. What else is left to create? What technology? … 21st century innovators seem to be far and few in between. Innovation is what needs to be focused on, not political talking points.

I'd rather have them hate us and than having to keep changing their mind. At least we know exactly how they think of us now.
We're walking on eggshells 24/7 and we don't know when to talk to the boomers because their mood swings are unpredictable. They're happy and 1 second later they're livid.

They laugh at one thing then the next day that same thing just flips a switch on them and they just bash you.
