Props, after I saw no mesh being punched, I lost trust in the video poster. Thank you for confirming these times for us. However, if you can tell me where the mesh punching takes place, that would be fantastic.
Things I dislike with my full mesh chair; 1. Leaning against the frame.. as the lovely Taylor(?) mentioned in this video, it’s kind of inevitable that you will feel the frame on most, if not all partial/full mesh chairs at some point 2. It’s like a cheese grater for clothing- the lint that gathers in the chair under the seat base is like a lint trap in a cloths dryer 3. It’s definitely firmer than most fabric options, which I tolerate ok, but it is by no means “plush” to sit in. Main benefit is not having a sweat-stained chair, as there is nowhere for sweat to get trapped in & it is just a wipe down to clean.
I just bought a humanscale one world chair (?) and I didn't feel the frame at all. Unfortunately, I also felt no lumbar support so it went back. Feeling the frame would be a deal-breaker for me.
@@everyhandletaken I'm still hunting. The problem is, if you go to a store the selection is limited, and it's hard to know if a chair will be comfy after a few minutes. The Human Scale was GREAT for about 1 - 1.5 weeks. I'll say this, I still recommend the Human Scale Different World for less than $500. Just didn't work for me.
@@1QKGLH I’m in the same spot as you then.. I will check that one out (thanks), though I’m doubtful I will be able to find anyone that stocks it here though 😔 I’m thinking about going to a stand up desk to reduce my time in my current chair & see how that goes perhaps too
@@everyhandletaken The one world chair is direct sell only. It's marketed for the work from home people, a company cant even buy one. The thing is, they have a 30-day return policy. I kept the original box so I could pack it up just in case. They paid for return shipping.

Great video! I bought a cheapo mesh chair and it was terrible as the fabric mesh was too soft and gave no back support. Better to buy the plastic mesh ones.
Why do some chairs have such high price tags? From what I can tell most are made in China and use the same generic designs, hardware, gas struts, mechanisms etc. I doubt if many of these chairs have been properly tested for durability and ergonomics. It's one of those things were I think paying more doesn't necessarily give you a better, longer lasting product.
Hello! I have been looking your videos but most of the options don't apply to me because Im from outside the US. So I found one offer in my country (Chile) the Okamura zhephyr light (around 470 USD). It says 10 years warranty (2y on the seat pads). Have you heard about this company or the products they sell? Couldn''t find any reviews online :( so I would be very thankfull if you can give me some info
Why did you promise punching through the mesh, if you didn't show me mesh-punching? I am here for extreme mesh-related violence. 0 STARS, WOULD NOT BUY AGAIN! EDIT: Will review in 6 month to check if this has been rectified.
Would chairs from SitOnIt (Vectra, Novo and Torsa) and ergoCentric (tCentric Hybrid) be a great alternative to the ones mention in this video? Would like to see a review on these as there's hardly any reviews for these brands. Thanks.
@@Matt-fq6ly I actually went with the ergoCentric tCentric Hybrid chair instead with fabric cushion seat and mesh back. I think I should also gotten maybe the optional lumbar support.
I bought a mesh chair with normal foam seat but the back is mesh. My concern now is that if the mesh sags ill have no back support so maybe it wasn't the best choice? Tho it does have a 10 year warranty and a 180kg weight rating (im only about 85kg) and has a special Australian standard AFRDI rating of level 6 which is for extremely severe conditions of use so hopefully it is good, so far it is.
Do y’all have any good quality recommendations for musicians/guitar players? I’ve been looking for something but can find something good that is from a trustworthy brand. Something with removable or tilt up arms would be perfect, one in which you don’t sink into the seat since it would not be ideal for playing instruments.
Yes, but the unique thing about the Aeron chair is the mesh is extremely durable and comfortable, has a great lumbar system and also comes with a 12 year warranty which no other chair does. If the netting happens to tear, arms break, have issue with seat pan. Any defect within the 12 year range, Hermen Miller warranty and repair will replace it. There’s a reason why the Aeron chair has been the number one chair in United States for the past 15 years. 🤷🏻♂️😊
Mesh chairs are first and foremost 1) an aesthetic TRICK 2) planned obsolescence - most mesh chairs will have the mesh loosen rather soon, pressing the frame parts against you. I don't think I have to explain to you what e.g. a point pressure does to your spine at the shoulder blades height...
I am buying a Chiro High Back office chair, you should too. ;o) Why? because they are a favourite in the office/ I have to fight colleagues for them as you can sit in them for hours in comfort and support, every part is full independently adjustable, they are bomb proof, and they don't cost stupid money either.
I know they are very similar but the Ergohuman V2 Elite seems to fix most the problems that are brought up about the chair on this site. It has an additional fixed point for the back position, 4D arm rest movement and option for fabric and leather seats.
@@DanWilson-tt5jc yeah the locked positions could be better, however I mostly use it unlocked and have adjusted the tension to suit my weight so I can rock comfortably back and forth and still have it support my back.
What you should consider that no one tells you: your farts will go straight through the mesh & into the room instead of staying in the cushion of the seat (because there's no cushion).
good video! i have 2 gaming chairs, one of which has a mesh back. its pretty good in the summer! but in the winter, i sometimes have to get a blanket when i watch movies etc lol. i got my other chair a week ago, but i can already say that its a lot warmer. not sure how comfortable thats gonna be next summer tho haha

The #1 thing you need to know about mesh seats is that they don't muffle your farts.....at all.
