Nanis story gets even sadder when you realize she was on track to be a professional surfer, as demonstrated by all the medals in her room and her skill on the beach.

And the fact that she’s only like 19, so young yet so many responsibilities
The part that makes me laugh as an adult now is the fact Lilo was so against giving the fish Tuna, but in real life most fish are omnivorous aka eat both meat and plant matter. So Pudge probably wouldn't have minded the switch up. XD
Also the fact Jumba knows of Elvis is a fun poke at the conspiracy theory some people people have about Elvis having been abducted by aliens rather than being dead. lol
OH. MY. GOSH.
The fact Lilo waited until AFTER the lady told Nani he’d been hit by a truck to say “I like him”… he survived a car accident unlike her parents. She thinks he’d never leave. Especially because she’s feeding Pudge to keep the weather safe on the roads to save everyone. Oh, my heart. 😭
And to think the creators had a scene with Stitch killing Pudge.....
Who's to say he doesn't, Lilo and Stitch share the same universe as American Dragon.
Watching Lilo & Stitch as an adult, I feel like I sympathize with Nani so much more than any other Disney character lol

As a Pacific Islander, even though I wasn’t Hawaiian, this film was the first time I ever felt culturally connected to a movie. It truly changed my whole world to see that as a child, even though it made me terribly homesick. (It’s also just an incredibly well-made movie with probably my favorite art style in all Disney animation!)

They explored the other 625 experiments on the Lilo and Stitch TV show. It was pretty good. I love Experiment 625, aka Reuben - all the abilities that Stitch has, but he prioritizes making and eating sandwiches over destruction. 😂

The Experiment 625 is in those and also for example Experiment 221 aka Sparky, which I love bc his power is literal electricity!

The sandwich and the weather controlling fish is actually foreshadowing to later when she tells Stitch about their parents' car accident in the rain.

@@thepowerfulwolfspirit.2581 Basically, Lilo has a lot of rituals that she does throughout the movie, to deal with a lot of the things that happened to her, and you could probably diagnose her with OCD. One of them is feeding a specific fish every Thursday because she's afraid that if she doesn't a weather catastrophe will happen to the people she knows.
She's also most likely autistic due to many of the traits she shows throughout the movie, such as the obsession with Elvis and taking photos of tourists (something that also harkens to the idea of tourists taking photos of native Hawaiians because tourists have tend to have no sense of privacy and take photos of the natives as if they are a free attraction).
@@nijapyrosphere4145 Oh, I never knew any of that. My guess is her parents died on a Thursday which explains why Lilo feeds pudge every Thursday so nothing else bad happens to people she loves.
The story is that the car accident that killed her parents was the one day she forgot to give the fish a sandwich. So she also blames herself for her parents death.

If you want you heart strings REALLY tugged Aloha 'Oe (Which means Farewell to Thee) , the song Nani sings to Lilo was written by Queen Lili'uokalani, Hawaii's last monarch before the country was annexed into the US. Bubbles is an agent of the US about to rip Lilo from her sister and it's shown toward the climax that he also sees that tragedy of what his job is to do to them.
Can we just give mad props to big sis in this movie. She’s young and has to be parent as well as sis.

This movie has such hidden subtle heartbreak when after Lilo tells the story of her parents dying in a car crash & hints it was because of the rain which is why she feeds Pudge the fish a sandwich every week because he controls the weather
When this movie came out, I had absolutely no interest in going to the theater to see it. I was in my early 20's. However it was my cousins turn to pick a movie at the theaters and she picked this* one. I went into the theater wanting it to be over fast and ended up disappointed when it was over. What a freaking cute, fun, beautifully animated film!!!!!

Great reaction! I love this movie so much! Not sure if you noticed or not, but in the scene where Lilo and Stitch wake up Nani to show her the record player trick, Nani has a bunch of surfing trophies on the shelf in the background. She could’ve had a career as a professional surfer but chose to give up those dreams to take care of Lilo after their parents died.

I got a fun story related to this movie. So a couple who are longtime friends of ours are army vets and they were stationed in Hawaii when their toddler daughter needed hip surgery. After the surgery, she was in a full lower body cast for a few months and during that time all she could really do was watch movies cuz she was stuck in bed. She loved this film and watched in on repeat so much, the disc actually melted in the player.
The joke behind “I love this song” is literally saying “Elvis was an Alien” 😂😂😂
The scene with the spaceship chase through the city was actually redone after the movie was already made.
Originally they hijack a plane and chase down Gantu though the city.
They changed it because it involved the plane crashing into a building.
Right before it was set to be released in theaters, 9/11 happened, and they made the executive decision to delay the release in theaters to reanimate it so now its just a spaceship that LOOKS like a plane.
So they did a chase through the mountains instead.
When you think of it in this context, it makes sense why Pleakley was so horrified of being left behind earlier, since they need a lift from the main ship to get back.
As a kid, Stitch was my ADHD icon and now Lilo is my Autistic icon and both sides of my neurodiversity love them so much.
When it comes to the big shark guy, my favorite description of him comes from Movies Explained For ‘Free Willy With a License to Bare Arms.’
The Accuracy…
Lilo is obsessed with taking photos of tourists because she wants them to get a taste of their own behavior; always taking pictures of the natives without their permission like they are tourists attractions instead of just people. This explanation got taken out of the movie.
This movie contains one of the first Easter Eggs I remember discovering in a movie: the papers that Lilo and Nani sign when buying Stitch contain a letter thanking the crew that worked on the movie.
I really want to see Lilo and Stitch 2 on here next. Because that is a real tearjerker
This is actually my all time favorite movie (Disney or otherwise). I can watch this multiple times without getting tired of it and when I'm feeling down, I throw this movie on.
I highly recommend watching the other Lilo and Stitch movies, while they aren't to the caliber of this movie, the spirit of it is consistent. The series is also adorable! One of my favorite disney series when I was growing up, my sister and I were obsessed lol. Every year I get or make her something Stitch related

All I can ever think about is how many people probably needed to hear that.
Lilo is also heavily damaged herself. She suffers from abandoned child syndrome which is a common illness among children who have lost their parents. She also has a behavioral disorder called intermittent explosive disorder in which she often has outbursts of anger and usually takes it out on her classmates violently.
Why is Pudge the fish important?
Because of this, Lilo has come to the conclusion that Pudge the fish controls the weather-as he is a fish in water and rain comes from the water- and gives him peanut butter sandwiches so no other kid has to go through what she did. She is cooping with the loss of her dead parents. And this is her only way of being able to express her feelings about this. I read somewhere that she blames herself because on the day she didn't feed the storm happened and her parents died. So, this is why she thinks Pudge the fish controls the weather and it's a sad tale yes. But she has a lot to deal with being a 7-year-old who's being raised by a teenage sister.

Watching ‘Lilo and Stitch’ in any form is like watching my childhood. They had the best online games on the Disney Channel Website, I’m here for the Hawaiian fashion and I once had a toy that showed slides from stills taken from the show.
This is definitely my all time favorite Disney movie!

Also this is unconfirmed but an interesting perspective either way, but a lot of people including myself believe Lilo is coded to be autistic, I've seen some very in depth discussions on it and as someone who is neurodivergent it meant a lot to me as a kid to see someone acting the way I did on screen and to see how hard Nani tries with her and how much she loves her no matter what
But there's a whole franchise! Stitch the movie, which sets up the TV series, Lilo and Stitch 2, and then the movie that closes the TV show. It's all good!
Fun fact: There’s a Lilo and Stitch show where Lilo and Stitch capture Stitch’s cousins and put them where they would be most useful

I love this movie I watched it many times.
So I don’t know if anyone else commented this yet. But, Lilo actually feeds the fish because her parents died in a rainstorm and so she wants the fish that “controls the weather” to not do the same thing to her sister I’m guessing. And that’s why her teacher was like “oh” and let the situation go.

i’m hawaiian and this was the only movie that i really related to a character by how i looked and to this day still one of my favorite disney films especially since i’ve had to leave the islands loved this reaction as always
also i believe the movie was supposed to be about clueless tourists which is why lilo takes all those pictures of strangers and nani doesn’t like working at a fake luau

Lilo and stitch growing up watching it in theaters was pretty cool and it’s an overall great Disney classic film, if you’re gonna be watching Disney classic films I suggest you watch the sword in the stone, a Disney classic and at the same time fun to watch and laugh highly recommend it!!!!
I got hamster last year and named him stitch.. and I’m 22😂 I just felt like lilo being lonely and a lil crazy and I’m living on my own, and since I feel like a hamster is like the most random pet to get a college student I thought stitch was the appropriate name😄 this movie brings back so many fond memories and I absolutely loved this as a kid😍
Everytime I watch this movie I get the strong urge to give Lilo a big hug. She goes through so much at six and it breaks my heart :(

Streaming cut Lilo hiding in a dryer by replacing it with a pizza box.
The lei, if I remember right, is made with a calming fragrance flower.

I don’t remember when the last time I saw this movie. It’s so extremely good and cute. Stitch is to cute and when he said "Ohana means family” omg my heart ❤️. It’s hard to choose a favorite Disney movie but I think for live action musical movies high school musical is my #1 fav. I think you’d like the Disney movie called Rip Girls. It takes place in Hawaii and a girl named Sydney inherited some land from her mum or grandmother think I don’t remember who left it to her but it’s basically her figuring out if she wants to sell it to this company to turn into a hotel or something or keep it. It’s a good movie. Love your videos!
Grew up watching this movie series also if you plan on watching the 3rd movie Leroy and stitch you need to watch the tv series that came out after the second stitch movie that way your not confused or anything plus stitch series was awesome as well you'll see what i mean by that hopefully once you watch it : )

We never seen Angel's blood taken by sample, but when I was a kid I thought Stitchie and Angel's inside mouth colours are the same until I read a fan years ago who made Angel with someone having same purple inside mouths like 627, I was shocked in disbelief, because it say Angel's mouth is purple like 627, but I don't get it the reason how Angel not having the same mouth colour like Tickle-Tummy, her mouth is red like Angel's mate.

Kinda sad how the ride doesn’t even exist anymore and many of us who were not born until 2008+ never got to ride the ride unless we were lucky
