What names have stereotypes attached to them in your language? And have you ever been judged by someone solely due to your name?

Because my family is Nigerian, I have a really long name no one can pronounce correctly the first try. However, due to the way it's spelled, people often assume I'm Japanese or something. So basically, I haven't been judged by my name, but people tend to assume I'm Japanese. It's kind of hilarious though!

I would say that in portuguese the names "José" (commonly abreviated to "Zé") and Maria are the most stereotypical.

I've been 'judged' by my name because people keep on mistaking me for a Muslim because apparently my name is a Muslim name and I'm not one and I also keep on getting mistaken for a Filipino, Chinese or any other country from South east Asia.

Ewout, that name is reasonably common in the netherlands, but you're the first german/austruan i've ever seen with that name
edit: oh turns out it's a variant of walter, i could see how wald/t could turn into wout as in forest/wood,
a dense forest is called a "woud" in dutch.
we have quite some walters, and even an old "wolter",
but the most common variant by far would be "wout"/"wouter" over here.

I used to use my full name, Louise, when corresponding with companies, politicians etc., and if I received a reply it was often brief and sometimes condescending. Then I shortened my name to Lou, which is also a male name, and the replies changed noticeably if the person thought I was male. The correspondence was longer, more detailed and friendly. Other women have noticed the same thing. That may be why more females are adopting gender neutral names.
