Thank you dear friend for your advice for making drum pads. I made pads with which I am very satisfied. I use an old Roland modules R70 and PM 16 and now I have a drum that really work well. Thank you again. Franciso
6:25 "I don't know what I'm doing but this is AWESOME" haha Everyone that plays drums for the first time thinks that, the adrenaline rush starts, you're high as fuck, your heart pumping hard, your hands shaking and when you realize you're addicted for life
Thank you for this! Your tute is very clear : ) Would love to have an elaboration on what you connect the pads to... also I am into finding a way to make everything like this kind of DIY a bluetooth mod...any thoughts or ideas? Thanks again!
these are simply triggers pads to connect to a drum machine, i've included a link to a more in dept video on how I connect the pads to a drum machine and to a computer. its a video on how to convert acoustic drums to electronic drums. same concept as the pad just with an actual drum set th-cam.com/video/_qxdqIB7cxE/w-d-xo.html
How do you connect the drums to the computer? Where do you run the cables to? What do they connect to, and what software is used to set the instrument up?
You actually need a controller... Rolland, Alesis, whatever... those controllers have many inputs where you will plug each "drum" so the controller actually produces the refined sound. The output of the controller then you run through a bass amp or send to the computer.
I used a Roland Drum Mod, it has a nice sound bank. but I'm using the drum pads to trigger midi to my FL Studio. and Presonus Program Thanks for watching
+charamuta not much mike?dont follow thta fillipines boy,too much work,is only some plastic plate?and some rubber,is easy, for me? the problem until now?is only ftdi driver too hard to fix it,installing ftdi driver 4x more and looks done ok,but i cant see where they are,software/wallscreen ?nothing there
can you make a tutorial of a drum simulator? i can do the drum kit but i dont know how to make a drum simulator that gives sound to electronic drum. If you could make one. That would be awsome. Thanks bro and God bless.
Can u please make a short vid on how it is connected or at least a pic. Since I dont have any experience,I did some researching on this and on a lot of diy sites it recommends some controller like arduino and programing skills to put it all to work.
it's a massive pain in the ass tho and you still need a way to connect it all up to your computer. By the time you get done buying that device + parts for all the pads + building the pads and a stand + factor in the time spent doing it all, you could have already been playing your nice new factory kit, money ahead...I have an Alesis DM6 using Addictive Drums...Total cost was under $500 and I love it.
exactly what @Ozterkvlt said! Yea this is perfect for me, I've been wanting to replace my tp65 Yamaha snare. At first I was looking at buying one but something even like the Pintech Single-Zone Concertcast 10" is about 200$. I'm pretty sure I can build one of same or better quality for 1\4 of the price. You're also right Ozterkvlt People would save so much money if they just knew how simple the technology behind these are. I don't think I would go as far as to build a full DIY Kit (props to those who do) but for me who just wants a mesh head trigger pad its great!
statikreg hey man,i am thinking about buying the same kit (or maybe DM7X for extra dual zone pads)and using it with AD2,BFD3,or some other vst,but i am worried about durability of those cheap e-drums,can you tell me how do they perform after some period of time, like 6 months?do they wear out,is everything still working?i'm a guitar player not a drummer so i really dont know what to look for in a drum set, but i want an alternative to manually drawing beats in midi editor (because that shit just kills all the joy of music making for me),so basically i will use the kit for laying down some basic beats for my music and later manually add/edit the rest of the beat...if you could spare a few words i would appreciate it :)
This is exactly what I need but don't have time to make. How much would you charge for say maybe 4 of the pads just by themselves? I'll give you my info if you're interested.
I don't know about Radio Shack's pieces. However, if you can do Amazon, they are 15 for less than $1 a piece. www.amazon.com/dp/B00A9AMHTI/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=3L3J11USOXTJ5&coliid=I2GBEBFT8FO7WE
hi thanks mate, for that info...i've found 'em in one of the local stores here, so no worries, we are up and running with 4 trrigers to my Roland SPD 30. I appreciate you time efforts, for making this vid. Long story short, here in India, to make this simple trigger, a fellow was charging about $ 32.23. After watching this vid, I was able to make things out of the trash lying around, and costed me less than $ 2 each. Once again thank you mate. TC GB.
xieng prod check them out scontent-b-iad.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-prn1/t31.0-8/903447_567437046638062_1232940666_o.jpg it would be a little ore complicated right?
This is really cool you hand made this..but by the time you get a module and make all this you coulda worked a day flipping burgers and bought a cheap set like the univox..with the pedals and all. Anyhow at least you had some fun fabricating I suppose
+Guitar Covers i think so,when he talking from the beginning,i think?too much work to make it,but i saw on the youtube too? indonesian boy,very2 simple they make it,
What's up bro, it's actually pretty simple but you will need the following: -"many" drum pads -MIDI Drum Brain -MIDI interface (unless brain has USB MIDI) From there, you just plug your pads into you brain module and then your brain module into your computer Hope this helps!
Nate David that's to make a louder, fuller sound. Dave Grohl's style of playing is really loud, so he holds them like that. In this case, it's useless since it won't affect the triggering, and all it is doing is damaging the pads faster than if he were to play them normally. It's not really a big deal, but still worth mentioning.
dear god i could go out, apply for a job, get the job, collect the paycheck, quit the job, use the paycheck to buy the drumkit, make a sandwich, take a shit, and i would more efficiently have an electronic drum kit.

Oh my god TruthSurge it's you!!!! Hi! Big fan
making e drums is not hard at all actually, people would save tons of money if they knew about the possibility of making your own...

statikreg sure, but alot of people (like myself) enjoy getting their hands dirty. I understand most people don't tho, or don't have the opportunity.

Your drum sticks are upside down, when they should be up side up
Mekiah Lewis Dave Grohl plays with his sticks upside down sooo
Nate David that's to make a louder, fuller sound. Dave Grohl's style of playing is really loud, so he holds them like that.
