I couldn't wait to try this new version! ...mostly because I wanted to see how much smoother the new engine was! Thanks for watching! Ride safe! Peace!
Nice video , im really happy about this bike, 10 years ago, my first one witch i rode 5 years. was a 107 cc skyteam Monkey, 80 kg, torquy and sounds fun and economic. Pure bike an Honda monkey's replica, 22000 km. Buy the engine 120€ and sold it a 80 ! Putted a brand new 50cc on my monkey and sold it as is... i owned after a 883 harley davidson withc was way too much heavy for a first big bike to mee and less fun in city, after 2 sv 650s,witch i loved it... but i miss a lot that simple joy. I sold my sv to trip so im on foot, right . I tested ride the duke 2 and the super duke r 2017 , another world, but they both give me a big smile on my face. We should think the mono cylinder is the first engine ever architecture ever putted in a motorcycle. So this,is more than 100 years old of heritage, and have the most powerfull on series one is appealing also ! Maybe a new owner of the ktm 690 ;)
Hey thanks! Yeah, in my opinion the KTMs offer a lot of bike for the money! ...& you get something that you don't have to modify because it already comes with all the good stuff on it! I honestly think if I had bought the 1290 Duke at first, instead of the 690, I probably would not have bought the RC8. Peace man! Ride safe! :D
I kinda like my 2014 dash better because the tach & speedo are easier to see, especially in the direct sunlight it was harder to see rpm & speed on the 2017.
I've got the 2016 with tft and like it very much though occasionally in bright sunlight i cant see it, all depends where the sun is I guess. I dont know what the old one shows but do like the trip computer so I know when to fill up ect.
Besides the MPH, my dash has gear indicator or trip odometer, & I always fill it all the way up & reset the trip odo for the same reason! ...I know how many miles I get on a tank, so I keep track of my fuel that way, because mine only has a low fuel light, not a gauge.
I think your way may be better, I ran out of petrol the other week for the first time since I had a moped 40 years ago. Had to push it half a mile on hottest day this year. Boy am I out of condition.
Right now, I've got the Conti Road Attack 3 tires on it because I use it for commuting & those tires last a long time! ...I get like 10k outta the rear before it flat-spots out!!!
It's a Puig brand windscreen for use with the 12-15 year model Duke 690, but it fit on my friends 2017 just fine! They make clear & tinted version & sell for 110 dollars on Ebay! Have a great day!
I don't know! I don't think it looks that great, but that's the way he wants it! I'm the opposite! ...i'm proud to be riding a KTM! Thanks for watching! Peace!
Cool to get an owner of an older 690 perspective

Very interesting video for me, since I bought a 2017 Duke last week. What do you think about the Display? U like it or not?

Hey Dave, what kind of tires did you put on your 690 Duke?
Right now, I've got the Conti Road Attack 3 tires on it because I use it for commuting & those tires last a long time! ...I get like 10k outta the rear before it flat-spots out!!!
Hi coulld you ask your friend wich type & brand the extra windscreen is ?
It's a Puig brand windscreen for use with the 12-15 year model Duke 690, but it fit on my friends 2017 just fine! They make clear & tinted version & sell for 110 dollars on Ebay! Have a great day!
Thanks GotDave , great day for you too.

Why did he cover all the KTM badges out of the bike?
I don't know! I don't think it looks that great, but that's the way he wants it! I'm the opposite! ...i'm proud to be riding a KTM! Thanks for watching! Peace!
GotDave? Weirdo, I’m very proud of riding a ktm as well, thanks for the reply man, ride on 💯
Ha! He had a BMW before he bought the Duke, & he had the emblems covered on that bike too! Take care!
