The main thing is the plot are you guys going to make asha the daughter of the king and queen? Or are you going to focus on the king and queen being a villian couple ? Or strictly focusing in on the love between star boy and asha ?

HE’S REAL IN OUR HEARTS 😭😭😭 This animatic made me realise just how truly ironic the song This Wish is if you think about it - it mirrors the sentiment everyone in this community shares towards the current state of the final movie vs what could’ve been (“So I make this wish, to have something more for us than *this”)* *This* being the mediocre mess we have right now. It’s like we want MORE than what the movie barely delivered on, and - like Asha - we’re wishing hard to physically manifest through the determination, inspiration and creativity these amazing artists have towards realising this missed opportunity :p to like actually manifest a glowing awkward lil star boy lol
Worst part is, Starboy was supposed to be a shapeshifter capable of taking next to any form, so there is literally ZERO reason for Disney to have done away with that altogether since they could have had him have a human form, but still able to turn into the little marketing creature we ONLY got in the final product. OR failing that, have the two be separate characters (maybe Star is like Starboy's baby sibling bc that's how members of their species look when they're first "born") with a Peter Pan and Tinker Bell-esque dynamic-- which also adds points for paying homage to classic Disney movies, very appropriate for the 100th anniversary (plus Starboy was supposed to be somewhat inspired by Peter Pan in question) and again still allowed Star to be marketed! There were so, so, SOOOO many more creative ways they could have gone about this without sacrificing what could have been a fantastic new story to tell, and they dropped the ball big time.
With all of these animatics going around from diff people there should be a long collab at some point for a storyboard of this version of the movie. Might be a tricky thing to do though but I’d kill for it.
I say someone NEEDS to host a community recreation of Wish and pull all these spectacular artists together. We don’t need disney to make a top tier movie. We can do it ourselves!
Yeah! And put them all in a Playlist. So each individual parts that were done by different content creators can get the views deserved. (Rather than one person compling all into one video) As well as us, the viewers can comment to the actual creator!

This is so cute! I love this so much. As much as I love these, I just get so sad thinking about what this movie could have been. I can hope for Disney to reuse some of these scrapped ideas for the inevitable sequel or possibly incorporate it into a different movie , but if that happens, it’ll probably be 10 years or so. And it won’t be the same. I’m torn about wanting these animatics to continue. Oh my God this is so cuteeee! Like, understand me, one of my favourite animatic artist has just make the Starboy! I love how he sees Asha (I think this is how you spell it) and goes to her like "Hello, human, you're so beautiful", and she's like "Oh my God a freacking star y a person! Aaaaah!" I love the animation of the star moving. Really, never give up and continue creating this masterpieces.

So maybe it could be like... He's a mute (but very expressive!) character for the most part of the story, but then at the end when he needs to leave to return to the sky, he sings one bittersweet goodbye (and love confession!) song with Asha, and that will be the only time we hear his voice. Also... Some parts of the lyrics for "At All Costs" kinda sounds like stuttering to me (for example: "I-I will protect you"), as if the singer isn't used to speaking/singing yet. IDK that's just my interpretation of it haha

I.E. it's being played during the romantic moment when they dance in the sky, and it's clearly the two singing it, but they don't move there mouths, and we just see there facial expressions with no dialogue. But that's just me.

While I liked Wish, flaws and all, the original ideas that they were going for would've made the film feel more unique and stand on its own
same, I think the creatives themselves did an amazing job, it's just they had a tight leash
I have never felt so deeply disappointed about a scrapped concept until today.
