    When I roller set my hair, I clip the rollers to each other, it makes them much tighter. This is the way my Mom taught me, and I am so surprised that I don't see anyone else doing this on TH-cam. Hmm....

    • @kurlymeka
      @kurlymeka  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi dear thanks for stopping by when roller setting the hair in cosmetology school we are not taught to pin rollers together. Once the rollers sets on its base and the hair is tightly wand on the rollers and the pins are locked in place it will be very tight. However, nothing is wrong if anyone wish to pin them together. Thanks for your feedback.

    I am a new subscriber, good work done . My hair becomes a bit hard after roller setting with a form wrap set . A friend told me foam wrap set are best best for normal to thin hair and setting lotion is best for coarse hair . I have coarse hair , could that be true ?

    • @kurlymeka
      @kurlymeka  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey dear welcome 😊👍.Some foam wrap can make your hair hard if you use too much. Some setting lotions can cause your hair to be hard too, especially those that you need to dilute. The foam wrap that i use does not make my hair hard even if you were to use more than the amount necessary so you could try that one and let me know if it worked for you. However, there are many different kinds of foam wrap and setting lotion on the market but to say setting lotion is for coarse hair that is not true.

      @@kurlymeka l use keracare foam wrap set, i just went ahead to read the ingredients to see if it contins protein but did not see that . I later bought their setting lotion and mix it with some water even though on the instructions there is nothing written like diluting with water. I think i will agree with your point that lf you use too much of some setting lotion the hair becomes hard .l really appreciate your contribution thanks

    I still get frizz at times from my rollersets. Not sure what is off in the process

    • @kurlymeka
      @kurlymeka  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      When roller setting your hair keep it wet. Make sure you smooth the ends of your hair onto the roller before rolling the rollers towards to your scalp area. Also make sure you comb the hair smooth. Keep the hair stretched while rolling the rollers towards your scalp area. I hope this is helpful to you.😊

    • @domingo8882

      @@kurlymeka i have tried those steps but what i find products used can make or break my rollerset. For example, i beleived too much protein based products and after o took out the rollers it was so frizzy and my hair felt brittle. The next day i had to rewash my hair.

    • @kurlymeka
      @kurlymeka  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ok I understand, if you are not experiencing any breakage then try not to use products that are protien base because protien does try your hair out. Make sure your deep conditioner has no protein, look at the ingredients on your deep conditioner bottle. Also products with alcohol can be drying to the hair. When you deep condition your hair on your next wash day keep the deep conditioner in for at least 20 to 30 minutes, make sure to cover with plastic cap and sit under a dryer or steamer.
