I have this lens, the Panasonic grip and the thumb grip on. my Panasonic GX85. I call it the Leica Q "Mini".

It is said that the DJI 15 mm 1.7 also are made by Panasonic. Different coating and made for drones, but are stellar...

@@umaraslam7731 Yes. I recently bought it from MPB as a Leica version and they "accidentaly" sent me DJi version. It doesn"t work in CAF on Olympus/OM PDAF bodies. It somehow freeze camera for few seconds...

It was immediately clear to me that it had to be my first and most important fixed focal length. And that has proved to be the case. I always enjoy this lens, no matter which M43 camera I use it with.
I like your enthusiastic video about this lens. It puts you in a very good mood!❤

it is a superb lens and resolves a lot of detail, I think it is a real Leica lens slipped into a Panasonic body and selling for Panasonic prices. Also being tiny and weightless, perfect on the smaller bodies.

Thanks to your previous videos on the GX9 and this lens (and a couple of other TH-camrs), that's what I bought. I'm glad I got them when I did because they are getting more and more expensive - especially the GX9. Now, if it'll just stop raining long enough to get out and about so I can use them.

I have OM5 but GX9 is really great looking camera - i like those rangefinder style cameras. I was thinking of changing OM5 for GX9 but the EVF is better on OM5 and I use it a lot...

Hi Grant! You asked for feedback about sound and video quality. Sound is good at the intro, when you talk about your new ebook. After that the sound quality decreases and it’s even worse compared to previous recordings from the past weeks. Video, again here, I prefer your previous videos that show a better lighting and background. The lens shown from Leica looks nice. Maybe you can try a recording with it if room distances allow you.

I fully agree about this lens, I am using it all the time on my GX9. The only problem is the somewhat cheap plastic lens hood, which I could no longer attach tightly and had to replace with an overpriced metal one (Haoge LH-P15). This metal one is of course rectangular, as is typical for Leica. Maybe that's why it's so expensive, but it sits very tightly on the lens and looks even cooler than the original one. I had to sell my Leica 25mm f1.4 because the images were slightly blurred. It was version 1, but version 2 is supposed to be better in terms of sharpness and also splash-proof. So be sure to check this when buying second-hand. I bought the Sigma 30mm f1.4 instead and am flirting with the Sigma 56mm f1.4. Your sound is relatively clear and distinct. The bass is a little lacking, but clarity of speech is what counts.

Yep, I purchased a used Panasonic Leica 25mm f1.4 MK1in nearly new condition, but traded it after a few months for the same reason - a bit soft. I invested in the Panasonic Leica 12mm f1.4 for low light/night street photography. It's a bit of a lump, but works well on the GX9 (and my OM5) and delivers excellent quality. However, for daytime street work, it's the Panasonic Leica 15mm f1.7 every time!

I have that combo as well. Fantastic! I’m off to do some shooting this after noon, inspired by you. I als will test My G9 with the new 100-400 I’ve bought. It’s 13:50 in Sweden now so I will aim at the sun setting in the North Sea…

Sound is good. You like to work your hands and tha cause som disturbances for your face, which means that your message comes in a little bit of “behind”. Also the bakground could be bit more blurrier. Skip the rule of thirds and put yourself in the middle to get you more strong in deliverance of your message.

Hallo Grant.

I bought one for my GX9 and I found that it was not as sharp as my RX 100iii. I did side-by-side direct comparisons. Was I missing the point looking for sharpness? Should I have been looking for painterliness?
