    It's so weird to see this tank without the white clouds in there. I love how you use proper names for all the fish, then refer to the red dude. Love your style!

    I love this tank. All the fish are active and swimming throughout the entire water column and length of the tank, looking completely like they're in an actual stream. So many different kinds of areas for the fish to explore, and so many different kinds of fish that really makes the tank look natural. And always love the GFF - Gratuitous Fish Footage. It's videos like this that make me visit Joey's channel first to see what he's excited about this time around, and then come over here to catch my breath and relax. So glad he talked you into starting your own channel. I really appreciate the work you put into keeping it going and making it educational and entertaining. Thank you.

    I set up my 125 gallon tank like this with a matten filter in on one corner and a Fluval FX6 as the filter. It has live plants and I do not use high intensity lighting or CO2 dosing. I add fertilizer to the water column when I do water changes. The tank is spotless and all of the fish (a mix of small schoolers like harlequine rasboras, cardinal tetras, neon dwarf rainbows, etc) are doing fantastic. The plants are lush and full and I absolutely love that tank!

    Hi Rachel, here’s a tank moving suggestion: Leave everything in the tank, drain water down to 2 inches, lift each side of tank stand just enough to get “Magic Sliders “ under the corners, slide to where you want it, remove sliders, and refill. You can get the sliders at Home Depot or Lowe’s.

      i would like to suggest a lavalier microphone, they are cheap and sound good, makes it a lot easier to isolate your voice, and you can speak more softly too

    • @RachelOLeary
      @RachelOLeary  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have tried them but have not found a way that the motion in the ocean didn't cause a lot of disruptive background noise. I use a shotgun mic. Reality is the fishroom is just very, very loud and there is not much I can do about that without cutting off the air, which is the lifeline of the tanks. Is what it is- an imperfect yet very real scenario.

    Man I love tanks like this that show a true understanding of the needs the different fish have. I also don't think that brown background gets the credit it deserves! I would have never chosen that color but in my opinion it looks very natural. Almost looks like turbulent low visibility water. I am planning out upgrading my 20 gallon and this tank is my inspiration.

      The older you get the faster time goes by! I look at my tanks and wonder where the hell all these fish came from! Especially the Cacatuiodes (responsible for many additional tanks!) I started with 2 pair, (one female DOA), so 2 males and 1 female. Now there are a couple of hundred growing out... and as they grow!!! Seems like it was a few days but it's been over 2 years. Definitely Crazy.

    What I love most about this tank is that most people would look at the size of it and start thinking Oscars, Peacock Bass, Discus, Angels, You've done exactly the opposite, big tank with nano fish. I know it's all a matter of opinion but I love the understocked look with all these cute little critters; as you say, there's always something going on.
    I actually prefer small fish to large ones, an Asian Arowana is a magnificent looking fish but let's be honest, they're pretty boring just going round and round at the same speed with nothing to interact with. Just my opinion.

    Hey Rachel thanks for the videos, I'm having a dilemma, my tiger oscar has gone into what seems to be shock and has been like this for a few hours, he's not moving around and lays flat on his side in the tank but his gills still move. The temperature is within their range at 78F. I've used my water purifier to help lower ph etc in case it was that but he still hasn't moved. His scales appear normal etc and there's no parasites on him. My family thinks he's dead but I'm not giving up on him yet. Is there anything I can do to help him recover faster? I know turning off the tank light helps to reduce stress but is waiting all I can do at this point?
