I show you how the pods look different and I cut open a pod and show you what is different about them. I show you how they brew an espresso different and Do a Taste test between them. I compare the taste of each one's espresso shot and tell you what I think.

The reason the Original Line pods are cheaper is because the patents for those pods have expired and 3rd parties can make them. Whereas, Nespresso still owns the patent to the newer Vertuo Line pods and so only Nespresso can make them. (I believe the patent expires in 2030) And actually, one of the biggest reasons that Nespresso came out with the Vertuo Line a few years ago was due to lower profit margins resulting from the expiration of their patent with their Original Line pods.

Do you think there is a difference in between the Vertuo and original products/ pods?
I have replicated the Vertuo line principle and actually improved on it! I use inexpensive kitchen tools that most homes possess. I demonstrate my system at various venues around the UK and audience members are often stunned at the simplicity of my method. I'm surprised that so called barista experts haven't used their brain to think outside the box.

I have the same original line machine. Really like that one. For mixed drinks I think the double espresso pods on the vertuo are best, but when I want a black espresso shot I like it better from the original line. Sometimes I do the 7.77oz pods on the vertuo but I dont really think they stand out as much. The other annoyance with the vertuo is all the unique flavors come in the 7.77oz size. for example I really wanted the Pumpkin Spice Cake limited edition in a double espresso size but it only came in 7.77oz. When you use the large pods with milk or flavors it gets too watered down and thin for me.

Hi Dad ,I really like the vertuo machine .(I can't believe I just found thus review) . Question. Have you tried any reusables on that machine ,I see they make them ...thoughts?? ..thank you as always.

You may have said but I didn’t catch it but why don’t you buy your pods for your Vertup machine from the Nespresso website? They detail the taste and intensity so well and they have such great great customer service. You can place an order and you will get it in about three days. That’s what I would do if you’re not doing it already.
Great question. I guess I did not know that Nespresso website sold pods. Sorry for this oversight. I guess I am just so used to ordering off Amazon that I forget that other places still sell things. Thank you for sharing this information and I will take a look and include this in my future videos of both these Nespresso machines. I did find that Target sells nespresso pods new and original line. I bought the new Starbucks pods that just came out and will be doing a review on them. Thanks again!!!

I have a Keurig Espresso that also works with your coffee of choice, not necessarily k-pods. I’m also thinking of getting a Nespresso. Should I go with the Vertuo or the original?
I understand the original is cheaper and it gives you a lot more options. But which one has the better coffee and which one makes the better coffee?
Great question. The original line does not make a coffee only espresso shots either a single or double (lungo). The Vertuoline make a great cup of coffee 8oz about the size of a normal coffee cup. The only thing is the veruo line pods are kinda expensive and a little hard to find, but Amazon has almost every kind they make. The Vertuoline pods are only made by nespresso and I just don't know enough about there flavors yet. The nespresso Vertuoline machines are pretty expensive and trying the pods can also get expensive. but once you have the Vertuoline pods you want it will make the best cup of coffee. The vertuoline gives you coffee a kinda coffee foam head on top of the coffee. I am not used to that but it tasted good.
I might have confused you more sorry, but if it was just between the Nespresso original and Vertuoline then definitely the Vertuoline.

@@JustADad Thanks for your reply. Yeah, the Vertuo line looks good. Nice crema on that espresso. My problem with this is that the pods are limited to what Nespresso wants to offer. The price doesn’t excite me either. Especially since I’m drinking 4 , 5 cups a day.
I thought since I’m planning to keep my Keurig for coffee, maybe I should have a closer look at the original line since it offers a higher variety of pods for cappuccino.
Just not super excited about going to an older model.

This is basically the Tassimo all over again, they had the barcode on the lid and it would either make: espresso, brewed or in some instances a latte or cappuccino(the milk would come in a separate T-disc and it would give a frothy texture no additional equipment required). In the beginning they were associated with Starbucks and the coffee was great until Starbucks no longer provided their coffee to them, they then released the Verissimo machine. I recall seeing the machine at Starbucks then, it it completely disappeared, I thought they no longer sold that machine.
