Disney ruined Star Wars and replaced it with their typical teenagers agenda with problems. The only good thing is the Mandalorian. All these “new fans”, just like it cause it’s Disney and never will truly understand what Star Wars is about. All the old and OG fans will remember the good ‘old movies. I’m glad this shitshow of sequels ended. Also the cast, is a bunch of random boring actors that are impossible to establish attachments to them. The only good thing about the movie are the Emperor Palpatine scenes. What a shame. Another legacy ruined. PS: Also the bs LGBT agenda that they tried to push in the movie makes me wanna give a big F U, to Disney and LGBT.

I tried to tell everyone it was gonna be bad. I've been saying since The Force Awakens was released. Everyone was too blind with nostalgia to see the fact that the movie sucked. I told everyone Disney would ruin Star Wars. Then slowly but surely with each passing film more and more people started to finally see what I was talking about. I understand why people were in denial. But it's like the old saying goes: *"You can't turn a puddle of festering fecal matter into a hot fudge sundae!"* 🤷♂️ Maybe people will listen to me next time!
They had Sabine Wern & Ezra Bridger ... so much could have been done with them in a progressive way ... Ezra Bridger could have been next-generation Obi-wan Kenobi trained by Luke Skywalker. A kid with no force-power parents but good heart & courage to stand up against the evil.
@@R3GARnator I would suggest they actually ripped off "Legacy of the force" series. Kylo was still Ben Solo (Darth Cadeus), FAR more developed with an interesting character. and Rey was Jaina Solo (his sister) who sought to bring him down. Ben ran the Galactic Alliance which was an offshoot of the New Republic, which in these movies they called the FO. Ben rejects the teachings of Luke, just like in this garbage movies. They plagiarized it, except they own it, so is it really plagiarizing? I'd have been fine with them just copying that story. But instead they took bits and pieces from that and "Dark Empire" now and stitched it together with cancer.
I remember a game I played as a kid where everyone would start writing a story, conceal everything but the last sentence, pass the paper on to the next person in a circle to continue, then after a few rounds the stories would be read out for hilariously bad results. Never thought I'd see this done as the plot design strategy for a billion dollar franchise.

And is it really that way for you, i don't really watch many shows or movies so i don't really consume much product as entertainment goes, certainly not anywhere near the average person does these days, i have some things i enjoy, and i may watch them once every couple of years not to spoil it for me and get bored of it, so its not nostalgia either, watching the Power rangers is nostalgia, and i cant stand it any more. And fair enough the target audience may be 12, but he did understood that his audience were mostly adults otherwise he wouldn't had bothered inserting so much politics and development into the movies.
They're not even Disney stories, as much as I loathe the Monopolistic Mouse, they usually understand how to tell a competent story. TFA (the best Disney Star-Wars movie) is about on par with Captain Marvel (the worst MCU movie).

I really don't understand the praise for the Sonic movie. It was every single uninspired, lazy, 'CGI mascot meets the real world' movie ever, just with Sonic and a couple of half decent jokes. We praise mediocre crap like that as the gold standard, and then ask why we get movies like Rise of Skywalker. We get the shit film industry we deserve.

The irony is George Lucas once said in an interview that a special effect is just a tool to help tell a story, and a movie with just special effects and no story is a pretty boring thing. (Edit: In case you're wondering the source, it came from a 1983 TV movie called "From 'Star Wars' to 'Jedi': The Making of a Saga." If memory serves it aired on a Sunday on one of the big three prime time networks: ABC, NBC, or CBS; I distinctly remember seeing it as a child. That quote always stuck with me.)
Yeah. Too bad the prequels were ass though. Nice special effects but the story was horrible. The acting from some of the best actors around was atrocious.
George also stated that each of his movies had to show something new, whether it be light sabers, character arcs or special effects. Don't do the same thing over again, or you will lose your audience.

Friend of mine watched it yesterday and really needed to vent. I told him ok just tell my everything I wouldn't watch this movie anyway anytime for now. So he told me all the big story twists and had to start with "I'm not kidding" every single time.
They should've just used the better parts of the Expanded Universe as a basis. But they kneejerked upon buying SW and unthinkingly decided it was all non-canon to avoid a "headache". WHAT'S THE BIGGER HEADACHE NOW?!
Let's face it, they will just do some time travel BS side movie/TV show and try to write this mess out of existence like they tried with Star Trek new movies and Discovery TV series. How must luck they will have with it is debatable but they won't let this cash cow lie still for long, if at all.

Prequel trilogy had it's best movie at the end while the sequel trilogy has its worst movie at the end. My personal opinion is that a story as a whole suffers more from a weak ending than beginning. So the prequel movies does seem a bit better to me personally.
@The Caring Adolf Hitler The reason why Star Wars sucks is very simple. Disney as a company is leaning heavily toward the left. That's a bad business decision, though. To be honest at this point I am quite convinced that these people generally hate their main audience, hence all the questionable decisions. So, they wanted to replace the main characters with their new characters, that's why all the character assassinations. They also wanted to replace their main audience with lobotomized normies who are willing to buy whatever they are selling, so assassinating all these OT characters is paramount toward that goal. Also axing all the expanded universe and declaring them non-canon to further that goal even more. Then we get Kathleen Kennedy lying to audiences in multiple interviews, saying stuff like "there is no source material" or that "George Lucas didn't write any scripts or material for 7-8-9 episodes"
For me, canon ended when everything relating to the original movies and anything relating to the original lore and extended universe was burned to the ground

I haven’t seen it but you can tell from the trailers the producers think all audiences care about is explosions, glow sticks, and space blasters. yeah but kinda nah chief... Battlefront (2015) was a good game and Battlefront 2 (2017) launched terribly but has since gotten waaay better, i have much more hope for a perfect Battlefront 3 (202-) launch than i have hope for ever forgiving the end of this movie.

EA said singleplayer games were dead and shut down the studio that was making a singleplayer sw game to work on bf2. @@PassiveDreamer but see im not doing that, we all know EA is a trashcan but DICE made Battlefront 2 amazing and it was because Disney and DICE both told EA to back off and thats the ONLY reason as well, why that game you love (Fallen Order) even exists or at least without MTX... as much as i hate Disney, they wanted to make money so they made EA (along with DICE's many insider complaints) stop with the Pay-To-Win mechanics, partly because Disney wants no part of any lawsuits and DICE doesnt wanna get shut down like all the other great companies EA owned and then messed up and then said that company wasnt good (even tho EA ruined them) and then shut down. ofc battlefront 2 at launch was abysmal, but after Disney and DICE complained, DICE was able to work on the game again and made it the best it ever has been.
You're wrong, the sequels clearly commit to several intents: character-assassinating and destroying Luke Skywalker, as a character and hero; destroying the other OT characters and their arcs; giving their arcs to Rey Sue; distorting and undermining the Jedi and their philosophy; endowing the Sith and justifying their actions; completely misrepresenting what the Force is and how it works - including what the Dark Side is and how that works; woobifying Kylo with excuse-itis and never having him take responsibility for his actions and choices; god-moding Rey Sue; making Finn look like a moron and writing him further and further out of the story until he is a literal pointless token; annihilating the Skywalker name, (brand,) and legacy; pissing all over George Lucas' work. All three films commit to that wholesale.
I want to say you've got it exactly spot on, but I don't quite believe it. However what I will agree with you is that everything you mentioned they achieved, maybe as a side-effect of their horrible understanding of sci-fi, sagas spanning over several movies or in general.. the understanding that Star Wars is supposed to be run with "a hero's journey" -formula or something similar. Then, Disney should fucking understand that you need to have a very good plan, if you want to make series spanning three movies. All the mystique that the original trilogy and yes, even the prequels had.. GONE. There's not a speck of that in this new trilogy. It's just action packed garbage designed for an audience suffering from severe ADD that can't notice all the inconsistencies with the characters.. It took three movies to give some really fucking bad character development for Kylo Ren and boy, it was fucking bad. You know what the worst part about all of this is? I'm finding so many faults with these three films that I don't even know which one to point to.

You are right. It’s because Disney made an agreement with Lucas to pay him 100% of all toy profits for HIS original characters. Killing them means no future toys and no money lost to George. The next Star Wars movie will be 100% “original” Disney characters. That means no more Chewbacca (most likely) in any future release or he will die, too.

Literally the best part was Mark Hamill saying “a Jedi’s weapon deserves more respect”. You can tell he wanted that. The blame falls squarely at Kathleen Kennedy’s fault. SHE chose to switch directors, or allow them to not lay out a design for the whole trilogy. They should have made the Thrawn storyline and been done with it. It would have be fking amazing.

Dude it's horrendous. Palpatine just fucking lets her reflect his lighting back at him exactly like Windu did as if he learned nothing. Palpatine yeets Ben swolo in a pit. Rey kills palpatine, then she dies, (I guess cause reflecting lightning was too much) then Ben comes back up the pit and kiss revives her then proceeds to die again. (Ben)
I loved it. Finally, when promised that a Force user was powerful, we actually got to see what that means. I'd been told for six movies that Anakin/Vader was a POWERFUL force wielder. Told. TOLD, but never shown.

However, this trilogy was abhorrently written and the main character was not even a main character, this movie sucked BAD. Think about it, yeah we wanted to see those powers but it should not have been fucking Rey displaying those powers unless she had an actual written explanation as to why she is that powerful, not some mary sue nonsense. Yoda himself only is ever shown lifting large objects and an X wing but somehow Rey has the ability to do that to a fully loaded flying space ship? Rey did not earn her abilities and did not ever have an arc, she peaked when she could force mind read before even meeting Luke. She never got worse, they gave Kylo his arc well enough but Rey, Rey was and is always going to be a character I loved at the start but grew to despise. In the force Awakens I excused the OP abilities of Rey, thinking they would be explained and written to make sense, I loved her character, I loved that she was mysterious and badass. But she ended up being a shallow, mary sue with forced and sloppily rushed explanations for her power in the 3rd installment, she overcame NOTHING, she was always strong, always winning, her moments of adversity were just that...moments, they lasted all of a few minutes until she OPed her way to victory for no reason, beating a fully regenerated Sidious with a block move...yea the Jedi had her back...The cheapest way bad writers try to get people to like new characters is by getting all the most powerful and popular older characters to validate her, it's such a cheap and corny tactic, getting an unlikable Mary sue over on the audience by using Yoda, Luke and Leia, its sad and annoying when you have to rely on that. She earned nothing. Kylo had redemption, he did evil and disavowed it, Kylo sacrificing himself to Kill sidious would have been great but him dying to save Rey is pure stupidity, Kylo was more of a main character arc wise than Rey. Rey did nothing but be strong from the get go, her relationship with the others was weird, it was disingenuous in a way, they tried to make it seem like they were a family but did little to make them seem like a real team, it was like a star player joining a bad team, sure she is friendly with them but she knows and they know she is better than them and it's her show, yea she is the main character but Luke, Leia and Han were equals in terms of importance to the cause, she was just an all powerful for no reason character who they tried to give a decent story to in a crammed last film, it's nonsense.
Naw that what everyone said about the prequels which were even worst as they ended hayden career and caused a child actor to be bullied they were so bad and they didn't even have the help of the internet to amplify the hate. But a few good games and decent tv shows some expanded universe things to keep interest then bam you can make another movie in like 18 years.

Funny thing is everyone's talking about how the movie's plot feels like a video game, with all the macguffin hunting. Fallen Order meanwhile is a macguffin plot that also manages to have some of the best Star Wars writing I've ever seen.
Lemon Senpai yes. Kylo is on his ship in space. Rey is on a desert planet. She puts a necklace on. Rey and Kylo “force Skype” like in the last Jedi. Then Kylo swipes at Rey’s chest and instantly the necklace appears in his hand. They scan the necklace to find Rey’s location. This all happens within 3 minutes.
But I liked the physical connection between Rey and Ben... It made Ben's turn to the light more impactful and solidified their bond. I hated the kiss at the end though, it was clearly there just to please Reylo fans.

Keep in mind that 99% of people who see a Star Wars movie don't really care that much for Star Wars as a universe and just want a good time. They might only know half a dozen things from Star Wars, like "Jedi", "Darth Vader" and "Millenium Falcon". "Skywalker" is one of those things. I'd love movies about Thrawn but nobody except fans know about him. So yeah, there will be more movies about the Skywalkers and there legacy. They couldn't even kill any major character in Episode IX, remember ?

It's never gonna happen. I just removed them mentally from my head and that's it. They don't exist to me. Never happened. I happily enjoy the old movies, computer games, TV series, and even Mandalorian, which is not that bad.
This trilogy lacks all that made the middle three great: A story and character arc (Obi Wan and Yoda coming out of Jedi retirement to rebel against the empire, Han going from scoundrel to hero, Luke being naive and inexperienced to more powerful than his father and besting him even though Darth Vader was stronger than him in regards to the use of the force...). Instead we have a Rey that's so overpowered that she pilots the Millennium Falcon and kicks ass with a light saber out of the gate...
The new trilogy as said by Yong, had NO roadmap except: "Let's cast a female lead and we'll go from there." And ofc, they went nowhere. They just wanted to fit a pretty face in there with no semblance of a plot . These feminists can't FATHOM having both . As long as a girl looks cool doing cool things on screen,everything else can take a backseat . Cool CGI shots will lift the rest of the movie ,don't mind the cringeworthy dialogues and acting.
Did you watch her piloting the Millennium Falcon? She spent the entire sequence hitting shit and barely had control over the thing. Did you watch her fighting Kylo Ren? He yeeted her into a tree and KO'd her immediately, but was so handicapped by getting _shot_ that he was struggling against a storm trooper... Who had in a previous scene lost to another storm trooper. In Force Awakens she was for the most part plausible, and had the benefit of being a co-protagonist to Finn. She was uncertain, naive, and talented but lacking in guidance; the main reason she didn't get an arc is because Rian Johnson didn't want to write a proper sequel.

I had some high hopes for the game of thrones writers trilogy, they said they wanted a clean slate with no strings attached to other previous films. Sadly they dropped the plans, hoping whoever carries the torch next doesn't royal fuck up the series like these past few movies did.

I so wanted to love or at least like this movie, but for me, it was like watching a really expensive poorly conceived fan fiction. I know there are people who enjoyed this movie. Disney ruined Star Wars and replaced it with their typical teenagers agenda with problems. The only good thing is the Mandalorian. All these “new fans”, just like it cause it’s Disney and never will truly understand what Star Wars is about. All the old and OG fans will remember the good ‘old movies. I’m glad this shitshow of sequels ended. Also the cast, is a bunch of random boring actors that are impossible to establish attachments to them. The only good thing about the movie are the Emperor Palpatine scenes. What a shame. Another legacy ruined.

Now I know how the 'Dead Inside' face looks like.
I tried to tell everyone it was gonna be bad. I've been saying since The Force Awakens was released. Everyone was too blind with nostalgia to see the fact that the movie sucked. I told everyone Disney would ruin Star Wars. Then slowly but surely with each passing film more and more people started to finally see what I was talking about. I understand why people were in denial. But it's like the old saying goes: *"You can't turn a puddle of festering fecal matter into a hot fudge sundae!"* 🤷♂️

I mean...the biggest mistake was Disney throwing away the Extended Universe. They threw away a free script.
They ended up ripping off Knights of the Old Republic with Rey (Bastila) and Kylo (Darth Revan).

They had Sabine Wern & Ezra Bridger ... so much could have been done with them in a progressive way ... Ezra Bridger could have been next-generation Obi-wan Kenobi trained by Luke Skywalker. A kid with no force-power parents but good heart & courage to stand up against the evil.

Kylo was still Ben Solo (Darth Cadeus), FAR more developed with an interesting character. and Rey was Jaina Solo (his sister) who sought to bring him down. Ben ran the Galactic Alliance which was an offshoot of the New Republic, which in these movies they called the FO. Ben rejects the teachings of Luke, just like in this garbage movies. They plagiarized it, except they own it, so is it really plagiarizing?
I'd have been fine with them just copying that story. But instead they took bits and pieces from that and "Dark Empire" now and stitched it together with cancer.

The irony is George Lucas once said in an interview that a special effect is just a tool to help tell a story, and a movie with just special effects and no story is a pretty boring thing. (Edit: In case you're wondering the source, it came from a 1983 TV movie called "From 'Star Wars' to 'Jedi': The Making of a Saga." If memory serves it aired on a Sunday on one of the big three prime time networks: ABC, NBC, or CBS; I distinctly remember seeing it as a child. That quote always stuck with me.)
Yeah. Too bad the prequels were ass though. Nice special effects but the story was horrible. The acting from some of the best actors around was atrocious.
George also stated that each of his movies had to show something new, whether it be light sabers, character arcs or special effects. Don't do the same thing over again, or you will lose your audience.

To be honest at this point I am quite convinced that these people generally hate their main audience, hence all the questionable decisions. They also wanted to replace their main audience with lobotomized normies who are willing to buy whatever they are selling, so assassinating all these OT characters is paramount toward that goal. Also axing all the expanded universe and declaring them non-canon to further that goal even more. Then we get Kathleen Kennedy lying to audiences in multiple interviews, saying stuff like "there is no source material" or that "George Lucas didn't write any scripts or material for 7-8-9 episodes"

They didnt do shit for a year and blamed everyone else and only started making changes when there was no more wiggle room and everyone saw them for the scum that they are ("sense of pride and acconplishment","surprise mechanics" lol). EA said singleplayer games were dead and shut down the studio that was making a singleplayer sw game to work on bf2. That dead game is probably what is now jedi fallen order which i personally thought was really good. Dont make excuses for corrupt moneygrabbers that want to squeeze you of your last dollar.

You're wrong, the sequels clearly commit to several intents: character-assassinating and destroying Luke Skywalker, as a character and hero; destroying the other OT characters and their arcs; giving their arcs to Rey Sue; distorting and undermining the Jedi and their philosophy; endowing the Sith and justifying their actions; completely misrepresenting what the Force is and how it works - including what the Dark Side is and how that works; woobifying Kylo with excuse-itis and never having him take responsibility for his actions and choices; god-moding Rey Sue; making Finn look like a moron and writing him further and further out of the story until he is a literal pointless token; annihilating the Skywalker name, (brand,) and legacy; pissing all over George Lucas' work.
All three films commit to that wholesale.
From the very first movie I was convinced the new trilogy only existed to dismantle the Star Wars legacy and replace it with absolutely nothing.
I want to say you've got it exactly spot on, but I don't quite believe it. However what I will agree with you is that everything you mentioned they achieved, maybe as a side-effect of their horrible understanding of sci-fi, sagas spanning over several movies or in general.. the understanding that Star Wars is supposed to be run with "a hero's journey" -formula or something similar. Then, Disney should fucking understand that you need to have a very good plan, if you want to make series spanning three movies.
All the mystique that the original trilogy and yes, even the prequels had.. GONE. There's not a speck of that in this new trilogy. It's just action packed garbage designed for an audience suffering from severe ADD that can't notice all the inconsistencies with the characters.. It took three movies to give some really fucking bad character development for Kylo Ren and boy, it was fucking bad. You know what the worst part about all of this is? I'm finding so many faults with these three films that I don't even know which one to point to.

I felt like my personal review of the movie went up 1 whole point when he said that. I appreciated JJ at least giving Mark Hamill a chance to be Luke Skywalker again and stick it to Rian in the process.
The original trilogy had three directors, that's not a problem per se. Rian Johnson is just an asshole and no one stopped him.
An Old Republic film or series of films would have been nice, but I don't trust KK or JJ or RJ to not screw up anything they touch.
I feel so bad for JJ. He actually knew where to take this trilogy forward, I personally disagree with critics saying "There was no road map". George handed the wheel over to JJ and TFA was more positively received. However, this trilogy was abhorrently written and the main character was not even a main character, this movie sucked BAD. Think about it, yeah we wanted to see those powers but it should not have been fucking Rey displaying those powers unless she had an actual written explanation as to why she is that powerful, not some mary sue nonsense.
Yoda himself only is ever shown lifting large objects and an X wing but somehow Rey has the ability to do that to a fully loaded flying space ship? Rey did not earn her abilities and did not ever have an arc, she peaked when she could force mind read before even meeting Luke. She never got worse, they gave Kylo his arc well enough but Rey, Rey was and is always going to be a character I loved at the start but grew to despise. In the force Awakens I excused the OP abilities of Rey, thinking they would be explained and written to make sense, I loved her character, I loved that she was mysterious and badass. But she ended up being a shallow, mary sue with forced and sloppily rushed explanations for her power in the 3rd installment, she overcame NOTHING, she was always strong, always winning, her moments of adversity were just that...moments, they lasted all of a few minutes until she OPed her way to victory for no reason, beating a fully regenerated Sidious with a block move...yea the Jedi had her back...The cheapest way bad writers try to get people to like new characters is by getting all the most powerful and popular older characters to validate her, it's such a cheap and corny tactic, getting an unlikable Mary sue over on the audience by using Yoda, Luke and Leia, its sad and annoying when you have to rely on that. She earned nothing.
Kylo had redemption, he did evil and disavowed it, Kylo sacrificing himself to Kill sidious would have been great but him dying to save Rey is pure stupidity, Kylo was more of a main character arc wise than Rey. Rey did nothing but be strong from the get go, her relationship with the others was weird, it was disingenuous in a way, they tried to make it seem like they were a family but did little to make them seem like a real team, it was like a star player joining a bad team, sure she is friendly with them but she knows and they know she is better than them and it's her show, yea she is the main character but Luke, Leia and Han were equals in terms of importance to the cause, she was just an all powerful for no reason character who they tried to give a decent story to in a crammed last film, it's nonsense.
Naw that what everyone said about the prequels which were even worst as they ended hayden career and caused a child actor to be bullied they were so bad and they didn't even have the help of the internet to amplify the hate. But a few good games and decent tv shows some expanded universe things to keep interest then bam you can make another movie in like 18 years.

Then Kylo swipes at Rey’s chest and instantly the necklace appears in his hand. They scan the necklace to find Rey’s location. This all happens within 3 minutes.
Lemon Senpai it’s a set up for the ending as well. I don’t know if you want spoilers. But it happened several times. It’s canon breaking.
But I liked the physical connection between Rey and Ben... It made Ben's turn to the light more impactful and solidified their bond. I hated the kiss at the end though, it was clearly there just to please Reylo fans.
The world would be a better place if this trilogy wasn't made.

I'd love movies about Thrawn but nobody except fans know about him. So yeah, there will be more movies about the Skywalkers and there legacy. Talk about day and night.
This trilogy lacks all that made the middle three great: A story and character arc (Obi Wan and Yoda coming out of Jedi retirement to rebel against the empire, Han going from scoundrel to hero, Luke being naive and inexperienced to more powerful than his father and besting him even though Darth Vader was stronger than him in regards to the use of the force...). Instead we have a Rey that's so overpowered that she pilots the Millennium Falcon and kicks ass with a light saber out of the gate...

I mean The piloting thing could be explained with The feminist droid from solo.
The new trilogy as said by Yong, had NO roadmap except: "Let's cast a female lead and we'll go from there."
And ofc, they went nowhere. They just wanted to fit a pretty face in there with no semblance of a plot . These feminists can't FATHOM having both . As long as a girl looks cool doing cool things on screen,everything else can take a backseat . Cool CGI shots will lift the rest of the movie ,don't mind the cringeworthy dialogues and acting.

In Force Awakens she was for the most part plausible, and had the benefit of being a co-protagonist to Finn. She was uncertain, naive, and talented but lacking in guidance; the main reason she didn't get an arc is because Rian Johnson didn't want to write a proper sequel.
