I made this bowl again a year later. Even better than I remembered.
One thing I did differently this time is I cooked the rice with Swanson’s unsalted chicken stock instead of water. I also grated the skins of the limes (lime zest) and added it to the rice after it was cooked. I had a little extra lime juice so I splashed it onto the canned beans.
This recipe is so good for weekly meal prepping. You can have everything in a bowl one day, then wrap it all up in a tortilla the next day for a burrito…or put it in between 2 tortillas on a skillet with some cheese for a quesadilla.

    Looks great!
Brown rice, black beans, chicken, hot salsa, sour cream, lettuce, cheese. and a tortilla on the side so when you mix it all up and eat half you can roll the second half into a burrito. The god tier order.

I just did a couple things differently. I used brown basmati rice and cooked it in unsalted chicken stock and I also over cooked my rice ;) For the corn salsa, I used fire roasted frozen corn from Trader Joe's. However, you are a good man, Chris ... a great man. Wow, we had worked on the Vignerette with multiple attempts (e.g., testing & refining Culinary Hill's works, but Meggan was a little different). However, yours is SPOT ON. Loved it man. Loved it. Again, give me your email, and I want to donate to you. However, please do make some more videos and chop them into just how to xyz -- not 50 other things, which you could put into 49 other videos. Seriously, I had a better recollection of their food. Wow, their peppers & onions were charred today and (swear to God) were like pure mush. They were very oily. I couldn't tell the peppers from the onions. No joke. And, they were overtly CHARRED and kindof burnt tasting. Yes, we were at end of lunch period, and they should have swapped them ... because I got them from bottom of the metal bin thingie. But, man, no, I don't have fond memories of Chipotle as much now. But, like probably most Americans, wife and I really busted our asses during Covid and learned to be better cooks. So, yeah, we're going to learn to do more restaurants at home. So, sad. Chipotle's is not what I remember.

A good trick to cooking loose, separated, but at the same time, still soft and fluffy rice is the pasta way. I grew up using the hand/finger tip method for Jasmine rice that we ate more sticky for our East Asian food, but basmati and brown always turned out too mushy for me. When I make rice for Indian, Latin or Mediterranean/Middle Eastern food I do the pasta method.

The whole thing is accurate. Made that rice and I could've had it by itself.

The corn doesn’t need to be cooked?

Instead of throwing away your half onion you should freeze it..To make your own veggie broth! :) save your half onion and put in a bag in the freezer until you’ve collected enough veggie scraps to make your own broth at home 😎

Thank you Chris for the most tasteful Chipotle recipes. I've tried the carnitas, barbacoa and chicken both dark and white meat, rice, guacamole and salsa. All are friggn awesome and your teaching approach is great. I wanted to complete the menu with pinto beans and not sure if its as simple as your black bean recipe that you showed here. I usually use cans since its so easy and season up. Perhaps a bean video in the future. Ohh...btw....is the cheese Monterey Jack?

I like chipotle but not their beans they taste so plain. I honestly thought they just dumped a can of beans and added to rice bowls they lack any real seasonings

awesome!! i been trying to replicate my Chipotle favorite burrito and burrito bowl, which I always order with brown rice, black beans, grilled chicken, pico de gallo salsa, corn, sour cream, cheese and lettuce, i think it tastes better wrapped in a tortilla.

How would you suggest making/storing the rice ahead of time if it gets brown over time? Just thinking of meal prepping! Thanks for this!

Omg!!! This is literally it. So easy to make and if you have not watched his guacamole video, go watch now. It’s pairs well with this bowl.
Thank you so much for sharing. This is my second night eating this!!!!!
