@@StPetersburgme Is your goal to sound like a native speaker in the US, or the UK? You sound mostly American, however some of your words sound like you have learned them from a British English speaker. I can easily understand everything you say, you've done well learning English.
Your understanding of the English language is far superior to my understanding of the Russian language. As a matter of fact you speak better English than some Americans. I truly enjoyed your tour of the city in which you live. I would also commend you for all the historical knowledge you share in this video. Thank you for being so open and honest. Your type of video is exactly what I look for when I want to know about countries I'll probably never have the opportunity to visit since I'm in my 75th year of life.
As an American, this is very interesting. Lots of people in America love tall trees outside their windows to provide shade, especially in the south where it can be very hot.
Hello from New York. I just found this channel and I am fascinated with your country. I think that your English is better than many Americans! Thank you for sharing with us 🌻
Very informative for anyone wanting to move there. Excellent job!. Btw. Your command of the English language is very good. Don't need to apologize. You seem to have the gift of keeping a person interested in what you have to say. Don't know what your profession is but you know just how much of depth to go into to keep someone interested.
Very interesting and informative video. Your English is perfect and much better than my Russian! So please you don't need to apologize. You are very clear and I appreciate how you have organized all the information and are prepared. I like buildings with character so I like a lot of the buildings you are showing in St. Petersburg.
Greetings from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. I love the stalinkos (early 50’s) very much. Also love the boulevards streets. Very beautiful & so clean. I absolutely love that the apartment buildings have so much free space (common areas) & greenery around them with lots of space for children.❣️ As for developers going bankrupt it also happens in Canada. There is minimal governmental help for the poor investors, not very different from where you are. Thank you for the wonderful guided tour. I enjoyed every minute of it. You speak English very well... Thank you for the tour of your place...BTW, the bed that I sleep in while I was there was the best sleep I have ever experience...the bed had some kind of ticking (like back in the colonial period in America)... Your cat is beautiful ❤️
I had to agree about having a mostgage for most of your life. Bought my house built in 1917( as is) when I was 32 and payed it off finally at 62 with a very high interest rate. Am still to this day living in it at 78 and still have never finished making more repairs. Prices going out the roof here in USA due to covid and high property taxes and higher other taxes to come now.. Nice area you showed us. Thank you so much for the tour and best wishes from the USA to you.( We all feel the same no matter what country we belong to about how difficult it is to find the right place to live and live on a budget.

Thank you for such an in-depth tour of the area in which you live, and for the detailed descriptions of the different types of apartment buildings. Your English is excellent! You are very easily understood. I hope that you will be able to purchase a beautiful apartment in the very same complex that you pointed out that you loved. Good luck to you! I will be subscribing.

Good Luck and keep up the good work.🧙🏻♀️
I thought the Khruschyovkas building grounds were beautiful, like walking through a forest to your city apartment until she pointed out that the sun being blocked caused dampness issues.
Privet Ksenija! And thanks for going to all the trouble to make such a great documentary on St. Petersburg city’s housing scene! Besides your video featuring architecture, landscaping, interiors, prices, etc., it was really interesting to hear about social historical aspects and construction history like Stalinkas, barracks, Kruschyovkas, Brezhnevkas, and recent decades. You know so much about housing that perhaps you ought to go into real estate work(!), if not already professionally engaged that way. I was a little puzzled by lack of mention of kommunalka housing. I suppose kommunalkas were mainly built in the Stalin era for laborers? Also a few decades ago it seems there was talk in Russia about Finnish rowhouses (finskij domik). Was that just some kind of ideal or were such rowhouses also built in St. Pbg, Leningrad oblast or elsewhere in Russia? My sympathy for people being cooped up in small apartment buildings. That’s a problem in many cities world-wide, shared even by lovely Paris and the Venice of the North. A couple of decades ago my own move to Tallinn, Estonia was aborted by inability to find suitable housing. The only affordable rental apartments were from the Soviet era, but they were small, had convoluted floor plans and lacked closets (for clothes, etc.). There was no room for my research library’s bookshelves. At present I have an excellent flat in Finland’s old capitol, so I have no particular wish to move to St. Peterburg. And it’s a mere 8 hours by train to come there for meeting friends, cultural events, etc. - once the covid brouhaha is over. If I was ever to move to Russia, it would probably be to the Krasnodar Krai region in the south. An off-the-grid country house with forest garden and likeminded neighbors could be nice. Poka.

Some of the buildings do look very bleak and more like office blocks than homes. However, a lot of the interior stills you showed look very nice. I especially loved the little coffee/cake shop you visited! I thought your English was very good and I had no problem understanding you. Thanks for this very interesting video. I love your voice and your gentle manner. I would not like to risk buying a new build under construction, it is a shame for the people who had to wait 14 years. I would prefer an apartment in the buildings that you liked, maybe the lower rise ones that are attached to a high rise, or else one in a smaller building . xx
Hi, St. Petersburg! I think you have a very beautiful city with lots of trees, grass and flowers. I'm also impressed with how clean and tidy everything is. Your apartment buildings look great on the outside from the Stalinska to the most modern.
