DO NOT USE THE BLUE BENCHCRAFT EC5 2 to 1 SERIES BATTERY CONNECTOR shown in this video and sold on MotionRC. It is made poorly with a tiny 12 gauge wire soldered perpendicular to the connectors which means IT WILL MELT if you fly for 3 minutes at full throttle with a 90mm EDF in warm weather. Wires in EC5 connectors are supposed to be 10 gauge and inserted into the cups parallel to the connectors, then surrounded with solder filling the cups. You WILL LOSE YOUR PLANE if you use that series connector and don't have a separate radio battery. MotionRC would discontinue that product if they cared that it was causing crashes. Instead use a Y wire harness EC5 series connector such as the one sold by Spektrum.
Were you running Admiral's? What was the Spektrum part # you part went with and has it worked out?

DO NOT LAND this bird hard. The fuselage WILL crack across the front of the plane. Retracks are good, but the weight of the plane will damage it.
Can you use a 6s and a 2s for the 8s setup?
Yes you can. You need a series connector. Then it does not matter if it is two times 4s or 6s and 2s

How high do you think it can fly
You wouldn't want to go over 400ft as thats the floor for real aircraft. You'll lose sight of it before you ever lost control of it
My dream EDF was the eflite 80mm f16 until I saw this V2 freeing, it sounds INCREDIBLE.
My only question is, do the lemon receivers for DSMX radios allow a level flight gyro mode like SAFE or is it just turbulence stabilization? I assume you could also setup a spektrum receiver to use SAFE in this like any eflite BNF model has? I'd like to have that in case I lose orientation or sight of the plane and for takeoff/landing on the first few flights.
This model is PNP so you provide whatever RX you wish.

Can you tell us something about the AUW with those 5000 packs.
And when are you doing a grass opps vid on this beaty?
BTW: it looked like the canopy did not fully close with the 8s config, is there a height problem in the canopy bay?
The packs are around 1050gr total, and the 8s model is 3300gr so a total of 4350gr so with receiver and the series connector it would come down at around 4400gr I guess, so it's quite heavy but it seems like that's not that big of a deal

For high alpha you shouldn't go over dual 4000mah packs or whatever packs you get 800-850g combined. Also with a gyro bump up the pitch gains and go to at least 15mm behind the CG recommendation.
Now thats a good power to weight ratio, they need to relook at the power system for 6s or make the plane alot lighter.
I was waiting for him to make that goofy “right at storage voltage” claim again (previous vis he said 30% was storage) but…he seems to be learning.
