Yeah, honestly I'm kind of wondering what qualifies as a "big success". I remember cringing really hard at this show when I saw it as a kid, and I wasn't very critical of anything back then. I might have to re watch it and see if it's as bad as I remember.

When I found this, I honestly cried. My whole family convinced me that I made this show up since I couldn't remember the title. My friends have never seen it and I thought I was crazy. I have loved this show since I was a toddler and could figure out the TV remote. It makes me sad that people around me don't know what this show is. I will continue to love this show and I hope they reboot it at least for one more season without the live action(wasn't a fan of the live action style).

Ahhhh this happened to me! From like 3 until I was 11 I knew of this show but could NEVER remember anything about the title until I stumbled upon it(i think on netflix) and instantly fell in love ever since.
I agree with you for the live action one..i really hate it..i love it more in cartoon way💯 its been 2 days that i got to know about the.code lyoko evolution and am very disappointed cause i was expecting it to be completely cartoon..but its live action huhh i hate it..am watching it not because of the live action but because i always loved this show since i knew about it when i was very young..

If people didn't grow up watching Code Lyoko, I feel sorry for you and for those who didn't bother to watch it you missed out on an amazing cartoon
But some things about robots and Xana generely was scaring me! I was about 12-13 years when I was watching all seasons and I thought it's kind of sick! I think it's for older viewers (16-18).

DUDE CODE LYOKO WAS MY JAM AFTER SCHOOL. The only reason I watched Miguzi. I didn't see anything past Aelita becoming real, though. Everyone says William is their favorite but I don't recognize him. Guess I'd better go look for the episodes online. I shipped Yumi and Ulrich so hard, back before I knew what shipping was.

37 - Aelita's actual hair color is light red. More obvious in the novel red, but the show made her seem pink to stand out more. In general she is supposed to be a light redhead. it makes sense as all characters have actual haircolor except for Odd who dyed it

Love the show but I always thought Aelita took so much time getting to the tower in some episodes because she has to look majestic while deactivating the tower

Evolution explained that as having to be calm and concentrate on flying up through the tower. Makes sense, since you seem to have to put intent into the activation codes and such even in the cartoon. Note when Aelita took information from a tower teleporting William into the Siberian base in season four (I re-watched it recently, first part that came into my head). You can access a tower's programming the same way you deactivate it, but with a hint of intentions in your touch.
That makes sense. There's some episodes where she needs concentration but all she has to do is put in the code and it's frustrating because she does that all the time she should be used to it
When I went to rewatch it, I just started laughing the first time she did the flip that became common place. "Aelita, this is not the time to be showing off"
Wait it was planned for an animated season 5 with Ulrich and Yumi finally dating? Yaaaaaaaaaaas. They should make it, but rated 14+ so we can enjoy it more as adults.
In China the show actually feels more like there isn't a main plot going on, and each episode is like a complete story that starts with Xana invading, and ends with a time reverse. It's just, Xana Awakening and later seasons aren't imported to China at all, and thus nobody seems to aware of that there's a main plot to the series at the time it's aired on TV.
The Chinese localization is also kinda weird with some of the translations. The show is called 虚幻勇士, Virtual Warriors, XANA is translated as 夏之纳 which makes no sense at all, the AI girl is called 董美娃, which might be a transcription maybe. The "Code Lyoko" shown at the tower terminal is translated as "密码：兰科", which sounds like "Password: Lyoko".

I laughed so hard when I found out that William grows up to be an edgy Justin Bieber. Man Reloaded sounded awesome. It's a damned shame that we got that abomination known of Evolution instead.

I've read them. They're ok. There's some major inconsistencies but still miles better than Evolution. The first book is just a recap of the original 4 seasons so 90% of that book's chapters are skippable.
In my personal opinion, Evolution wasn't THAT bad. It was no where near as good as the original, but still not the worst show ever.
I feel the main drawback was the live action and the different style of Lyoko itself. I found the story to be highly intriguing and kind of hope they someday finish the story, preferably going back to fully animated at the same time.

I just rewatched it on netflix usa and 1. I dont remember season 4 at all. 2. There is no live action version. And acording to the internet it never got translated to English. Top 10 list of reasons why having multiple languages sucks.

But I didn't exactly knew the name of it at the time. Whenever I wanted to watch, I would go up to my mom and say "Mommy, can you put on that TV show with the boy with yellow hair and glasses?" And the weird thing about it, is that she knew exactly what TV I was talking about. I found out the name of the TV show back in 2013. It's 2018 about to be 2019, and I still love this show. I pray that one day the series does get a proper end, I've watched it countless times over and the show made my childhood amazing. The shoddy attempts at giving it the proper ending or continuation it deserves honestly makes me sad.
Man, a lot of these old french and canadian shows were my favorites during my childhood. Code Lyoko, Oban Star Racers, Totally Spies, Dragon Booster, Martin Mystery, Galactik Football, Silverwing, Class of the Titans, Get Ed, etc. Too bad most of these went out of air in my country way too soon and could never watch their endings. Maybe I will make the time to find them online soon. The few ones I did find online have been really worth it.
As far a code lokyo goes watchcartoononline.tv has it and I think they have totally spies as well

For one thing to me code lyoko evolution was boring & took out most of the characters. & the actors looked nothing like the code lyoko characters in the show especially The teachers the lyoko warriors & sissi I know a actress who would be a good sissi & who is hot AF.

@@peakrock790 Actually, it did. If you watched the entire video, you would know that Code Lyoko: Evolution was actually the fifth season of Code Lyoko. It aired online in 2012, and then aired on television in the U.S.

French fan here, It so funny as I watched this show on France 3 and Canal J when I was little but never knew up until recently it had such a big international following. It so cool to see a french show being beloved internationally. It was a great show so its understandable. I also really liked the fact that Xana was never a real physical character (well other than the possession part) while being a constant ominous presence for the kids. Yeah the live action wasn't too appreciated in France either and kind of drop in popularity afterwards. In any case thanks for the facts and yeah Totally Spies and Martin Mystère were also great french shows I would recommend to check out.
in other words whole fanbase would rather not remember evolution or just erase it from the canon lol every fan wants a reboot that erases evolution or a true season 5 fan projects don't either

I remember when I watched this as a kid with my friends, ah, good ol' days. I miss this show. For real I would even pay to go back to those days.

I LOVED this show to death as a kid, and still do to this day, I have every episode of the original animated show, collectable figurines (only sold in Australia by the looks of it) computer "games" (basically wallpapers and a couple of episodes as well as some behind the scenes things) and Quest for Infinity
Also if you remember the picture of the Lyoko Warriors from the show, my friends and I printed it out, framed it, and all still have it in our bedrooms to this day (we're all just about in our 20ies now)
This show is one of the best things I've ever seen, I didn't know there were novels, so guess what I'm going to find now!

The fact that the real factory was used to make Renault cars, which are expensive, that's awesome. Should have given Aelita a Renault to ride in on Lyoko, that'd be sweet.
France makes a load of great animation, tbh.
A Monster in Paris flew waaaaaaay under the radar, and everything that didn't, everyone forgot was French. I mean, nobody associates Despicable Me with France even though Illumination is a French company.
It makes sense that France would be good at animated cartoons though - after all, France, alongside Belgium, had the biggest influence on European comics and cartoons. Tintin, Asterix and Obelix, the Smurfs, Lucky Luke, Boule et Bille, Spike and Suzy, Titeuf, the list goes on. After Japan and America, they're some of the world's best in cartooning.
Thank you for making this video. I'm happy that Code Lyoko still has a strong fanbase after all these years. I do want to add though that Code Lyoko actually had a proper conclusion in it's fourth it's just that Evolution messed it up by touting itself as a continuation we Lyoko fans didn't need.

As someone who watched through "Code Lyoko" back in 2020, I loved it.
My reintroduction to "Code Lyoko" started with the "Code Lyoko: Quest For Infinity" game for PlayStation 2 back in 2012. I found it for Nintendo Wii 7 years later.
"Code Lyoko: Quest for Infinity" changed my life in away I never would've imagined. (It's not the first, nor the last game to do this.)
