Rattie Damian most definitely. I think the biggest reason this show is not that well known is because when it aired. it aired at a time where the network wanted to ditch most cartoons in favor of live action, most people didn't watch the channel during that time.
I'm 25 and Flapjack STILL has a special place in my heart. I can see why it's more popular with teens and people in my age group. It has a way of having a special place in your heart. It's never going to not have a place in my heart.
@@Jennifer_Devote Same. Some things on the show bothered me as a kid but I still found it interesting enough to watch. I just avoided the parts of the show that were too weird for me. Now that I'm older though, this show wan wasn't nearly as weird as other shows lol
So basically, Flapjack started a miniature Animation Renaissance? So many people that worked on with or around it went on to make so many other great shows.
A lot of people correlate Chowder and Flapjack. Even in 2007 when the shows first came on, I thought it was funny how both main characters were named after food and had their first premieres around the same time.
When you think about what Flapjack's voice actor would look like, you'd think of a woman like Tara Strong, or the lady who plays Bart Simpson…Or maybe a boy between the ages of 11-13 awkwardly going through puberty…Not a grown man who looks like a biker and can win a wrestling match against a bear, mountain lion, and a crocodile. LOL XD
So Powerpuff girls inspired Flapjack, which inspired Gravity Falls and Regular Show, and Adventure Time, and Adventure Time, and who can even count how many shows those three inspired.........ah the circle of life.
Lil OnionRings Cartoon Network isnt the only network you know. As a matter of fact its not even the best place for quality animated shows or cartoons anymore, that spot nowadays belongs to Disney XD and on rare occasions Adult Swim. They've got some great line ups. There is also this channel as well.
@@2la84me I know this is 2 years old but so far Craig of the Creek and Steven Universe are pretty good. Idk what other cartoons come on CN these days tho since I don't watch TV much anymore. Hope TTG isn't still overshadowing everything.
Flapjack, Flapjack. Come with me, we'll go and see a place called Candy Island! Who needs Candy Island? It's safer at the docks. But there ain't no tales of sody pop, that go drippin down the rocks! It's dangerous and risky! But adventurous and free! Adventure, that's the life for me! There's lollipop trees and a lemonade sea! Don't sound very good to me. The misadventures of FLAPJACK!
Man, Flapjack was awesome!!! I remember that my brother, dad, and I would stay up on Thursday nights to watch the new episodes. The funny thing was, my Dad loved it the most out of all of us!! Thank you, Mr. Van Orman, for giving us this great show.
I absolutely love flapjack my mom would make me change the channel whenever it came on because it gave my little sister nightmares I could say it was the only time I wished I was an only child I missed this show and i couldn't believe it wasn't on CN anymore along with a lot of other good CN cartoons they had sad I miss the old CN and how it used to be
THATS the creator of flapjack! He's so freaking awesome! His voice his...adorable? And that beard! Are you sure he's even real? What am i saying. Only someone this eccentric could create a show like this.
what if candy island was actually the land of Ooo in adventure time.. and the only character who ever got to the land of Ooo/candy island was peppermint larry, and that's why he built his wife in candy form because she met princess bubblegum and he fell inlove with her.
No noo! Most of it was right! BUT a good theory that this CAN be connected as for finn and jake they are adventurists only to eat most of the time sweets! And flapjack and knuckles eat sweets along with adventuring same situation this must be no mistake!
I still can't get over he grew up near the same area of Panama City that I did. I never knew until a few years ago. I was highly inspired by his show to also adventure! I didn't go into the survival stuff as far as he did (Paddling to Shell Island is no joke. I recall it takes about 6hrs to kayak there) but I went kayaking, boating, fishing, and other fun things with my family. I also went to Shell Island AND I almost got bit by a baby rattler while stepping over a branch there. I really love how my life and his sort of line up in small places. It means a lot to me and I hope I get to exchange stories with him about our hometown together sometime.
I would also love a 107 facts of Rocko's Modern Life. That show is a very beloved show among 90s kids and is one of the most well written shows of all time. Not to mention that it does satire very well.
I used to live in Panama City when I was younger, and there's quite a few pirate-themed events. I went to a pirate ship cruise as a field trip once. It was fun.
You know what I've noticed? When writers and animators of TV shows try to make each other laugh with their content, it makes the best shows. Like freakazoid for example.
This show MADE my middle school years. It's creepy artistry helped influence my art. Flapjack is one of my favorite shows thanks to that and thanks to the influence it had on American animation.

Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, Chowder, and The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack are my top three choices for my 16 favorite animated television series. I am conflicted on which chow is my #1 favorite, but for now, I will tell why I like Flapjack.
First of all, Flapjack is such a cute boy. I may be troubled by how he is voiced by his own creator Thuop Van Orman instead of a real child, but that does not stop him from being adorable. I just want to see as much of his cuteness as possible. Secondly, although I like 2D drawing animation better than any other animation type, I will admit this project features some of my favorite stop motion work from Screen Novelties. I can be impressed by two types of animation blending together well, I just like to see drawing animation taking the center spotlight. And yes, I have seen the ugly faces that show up throughout the series run, but because I am more interested in Flapjack's cuteness, that actually makes me "adorably tolerant" of the ugliness. I'm not saying I like every single face on-screen, there are a few faces that scare me, but getting to see the cute little boy Flapjack makes it all worth it.
One last thing I like about Flapjack is that it resulted in the creation of other animated television projects like the Adventure Time Project. When Chowder and The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack both got cancelled, I was somewhat sad. Fortunately, The Amazing World of Gumball and The Adventure Time Project both made good coping shows, and even turned out to be great shows by themselves.
