Bit of a small thing but thank you for having actual subtitles that aren’t the auto-generated ones! A lot of TH-camrs overlook them and it’s very appreciated as a viewer with audio processing issues
I'm so sorry! I can't imagine how annoying/disappointing it is to find a good TH-cam video topic to watch, and then can't because the subtitles are wrong!
Probably less "overlook" and more "don't have time." I've had to spend a solid 5 hours of frustrating work wrestling with some basic edits for subtitles on an 8 minute video, AFTER auto-timing already did the timing part for me. The thing fights you tooth and nail, constantly teleports you around the document, will randomly delete other segments while you're typing, and just generally messes with you. It also doesn't disable the shortcuts while you're typing. Like Spacebar, a shortcut to make the video start and drag you forward.
"a couple dozen of subscribers", Ceave said, not expecting the June Nintendo Direct. You're an excellent script-writer and have great presentation, flow and timing. I'm strongly looking forward to more such content on this channel.
I am shocked none of the commenters who found this video recognized your voice ceave (before you announced this) lol, happy to see this two channel approach :)
Just finished your Wind waker and Bloodborne videos, and now I'm getting on to this one. I love the way you dissect these games, particularly in the Bloodborne video! It was so thoughtful and interesting, not to mention ending on a great note! I think you have a really lovely way of discussing these things. Keep it up my dude!
wow i can't believe someone's first video is this good keep it up. imagine this amazing editing and commentary with a video overanalysing the new mario trailer for 26 minutes
I actually really like this style of content! I'm glad you found a way to not only make it work for your audience but also for yourself. Keep up the great work Ceave!
I really appreciate your sidestep about the voice actor harassment. I really enjoyed the video, Stefan! It's very well structured, good editing, good balance between funny and serious, informative, great views
I think the main reason that people blame stuff like the actors or the testers, or the composers for things that they ultimately aren't completely responsible for, is that it's easy and simple. They see an issue, and they see a role that's doing the thing they have an issue with it and they assign blame right there. Because unless we've got someone on the inside, it's hard to know who the actual problem causer was. Even in your explanation you put the possibility to several positions like the director, developer, publisher etc. And it's likely even more complicated who has responsibility for the issue in reality.
In terms of bugs its not the playtesters' fault, but it certainly isn't the developers' fault either. Its the fault of management for pushing games out too early or not assigning enough resources to fixing bugs.
This was incredible. Not just in reviewing the game but looking into each of those small pieces and how they can't together. Even after looking at so many reviews and discussions I learned so much from this video. I hope this channel is a success because I'd love to see more.
This is the fourth video I've seen on your second channel, coming back to you after I discovered Ceave Gaming long ago and eventually departed for a while. And... all 4 really hit me to the core. The Wind Waker one, the Outer Wilds one, the Hollow Knight one, and now this. They all did so because they all reassured me in the values I myself have been gathering these past few years, becoming my own person and being happy about it. So it truly feels nice to see it all thrown my way like this, reassuring me in the fact that this isn't wrong in any way... They're beautifully crafted videos, and I'm really grateful. Onto the TotK one!
I'm so happy you came back! Your content was always really interesting and very well put together, I won't miss any of the future awesome uploads on both channels, Hooray to the king!
A lovely video! Thanks for putting in the hours and hours of work to make this a reality, its appreciated! Was a joy to get the opportunity to hear your analysis over this.
As someone who is really into the philosophies of game design and artistic concepts and stuff like that, I personally believe that your analytical content was the strongest and most interesting element of your channel and I look forward to seeing what you come up with next!
Despite not being especially interested in RE4, I really enjoyed this! Your writing and analysis kept me thoroughly engaged the whole time, and I can't wait to watch your next!
Your Mario videos are some of my favorite videos on all of YT. I was real bummed once that cooled off, thought you left YT. Finding this channel has been a lovely surprise. Hope life is treating you well.
Hi, Ceave! I’m sure you’re gonna get a lot of this, but I’m so happy you’re back! I’ve been enjoying your content ever since the days of your Super Mario Maker contraption videos. Your newer analytical content, especially that meanie-demonetized Paper Mario video, have been big inspirations for me to start creating silly little video essays myself. I can’t wait to see what you’ve got in the pipeline, and I know I’m not the only one. Welcome back! Your return is rated 5 Rainbow Fuzzies!
i could listen to you talk for hours and frankly im glad to have you covering some games I'm a little more interested in haha. wishing you so much success
I'm so happy Ceave (Stefan:D) is back doing videos. I thought he was gone from youtube for good, but here I am expecting new videos every now and then. Thanks Ceave!
God damn you ceave. Now I have to watch an hour long video about a game I don't care about. Seriously, its amazing to have you back. I wish you the best in the future and hope that tears of the kingdom video comes out soon
As an indie game developer this perspective is so valuable and insightful. If I ever actually become successful at this, in large part I'll have you to thank.
I get that overreacting about subpar voice acting is childish but it doesn't mean people who criticised the voice actress are "racist" or "misogynistic", she half-assed her lines and it's really noticeable as the rest of the cast did a really stellar job, that's it, she stands out so she got singled out, I guarantee you if the merchant was voiced by a bored white middle aged dude with zero personality doing a mediocre job at best and really boring at worst people would be equally, if not even more, pissed.
Also, no the answer is not "B", you don't know how many takes they have done and how long it took, you don't know how much they paid her and if they had the time to just reshoot the lines over and over and over again or if they could just replace the voice actress, as not paying her for a bad performance probably would've came with backlash of it's own for capcom, and paying her for something they wouldn't even use would be just burning money, not everything is as black and white as it may seem. If you hire someone and they endlessly dissapoint you by doing a bad job and you can afford to rehire it's not really your fault and you just gotta get the best out of the thing you dumped money into.
Just found this channel from the latest video and I’m really happy that there’s already been people commenting, that there’s people discovering ceave for the first time through this I genuianly wonder how many people know he has another channel?
Years ago when RE4 came out there was a paper book, a game solution, added to an issue of video game magazine I was regularly reading. I have read through the whole solution and immediately fell in love with the game. Many times have I wanted to play it but never actually did. I don't really know why. It's still on my wishlist on multiple platforms, lol. Now I am watching your video, not really wanting to spend $70 on a game, but yet again, especially with how well the experience has been crafted, I am falling in love with the game once again. Perhaps I'll play it in a near future, or you know, maybe 20 years down the line they will make another reedition, haha. Your video is really nice. It makes great service to the actual game.
Oh man, RE4 is one of my favorite games on a system full of favorites, so learning about all the differences and how this new version is still awesome is gonna be a ride.
Never played either RE4, but your writing is so entertaining anyway I've been watching the whole thing! I'd definitely be excited to see more, especially to see your perspective on games I love
Aaaaaand just like that I'm hooked on BOTH channels now. Well done, good sir. Excellent video. Looking forward to more of these in the future whenever they appear!
This is awesome! I'm super excited for the new channel, I already enjoy your content and analytical gaming content anyways. I look forward to what you do next!
This is like a longer and more detailed game theory video, and that is said with incredible love since I love this style of video! Has great humor, but at the same time really educational, very enjoyable, and very exited for your next video!

Finding the Mario trailer analysis in my recommended already felt like Christmas but watching the end of that video and hearing there was an hour-long analysis of Re4 waiting for me on this channel felt like they went and decided to make Christmas 2 when i wasn't looking
This is the kind of content I always hoped for from Ceave, deep dives about anything he finds personally interesting. So excited to have this new channel to look forward to, Stefan!
Here from Ceave Gaming, where this channel is called Ceave Perspective, and not yet listed as a connected Channel there. Good Luck man! I appreciate being told what was happening and why.
Fascinating stuff, I've never touched a RE game and I'm not really a fan of the genre, but this video told me everything I need to know about how great this game is, and more. Thank you for letting us in on your little secret channel and I'm looking forward to more :)
Fantastic video. To the drama regarding Ada's voice actress, I think respectful/constructive criticism is warranted. But, with that said, it seems to be the default to discredit or silence those who have valid criticisms by labelling them as "misogynists" or "racists". I'm not denying or saying there wasn't harassment that went on, but a lot of what I had seen didn't go that far and the reactions to the actual valid criticisms were hyperbolic. I don't think the voice actress was a good fit for the role, but at the end of the day, I place the blame on the directors for miscasting her and setting her up to fail.
It's been 10 months and no one's going to read this comment, but the ravens were mentioned enough times to trigger my inner nerd. So, are they worth shooting? Eeeh.... probably yes. Ravens can drop three items - money, gunpowder and red gemstones, and it's completely random. (Yes, you can save scum every crow in the game to give you a gemstone.) Gems are of course super worth it, but the drop is rare. Gunpowder is the worst drop money-wise, but since you can't really buy it, its value is very subjective. Money isn't much usually, and if you take into account occasional misses, you will end up with slightly more if not just as much as you'd earn by selling those bullets. There are however "scripted ravens". Those guys will always drop the same thing and it may be a thing outside of the random drop list. Some scripted ravens will drop good stuff like blue gems or grenades, but other will only drop 100pst, which means they are not worth shooting as one handgun bullet sells for 120pst. So if you are playing this game for 10th time, you may want to remember which ones to shoot.
I just watched 1h and 17min of a guy talking about the remake of Resident Evil 4 and absolutely loved it. I haven't played a single game of the series. That was such an interesting and entertaining video, I hope you keep on with this channel!
As a fan of the other channel, I was a bit worried about this video being like 4 times as long as your regular content. I was pleasantly surprised that this video was just as good as everything you put out on your other channel. Keep up the good work/
A delightfully well made and super in-depth video! One small note that kept nagging me at some points about remakes and how this is a remake and not a remaster. It’s a really weird grey area we’re in where some remakes are wholly reimagined and new and some are remasters that are pretty much the same with maybe some extra content added on. Do I think it’s cool when a company thoroughly reimagines and recreates a game or series from the ground up? Of course! That’s super cool, and I like seeing the new takes the devs have on these older games. But I think there’s still room for remasters and ports as well, they might not have as much effort put into them, but I think some people may want to just kinda play the original on a newer console. If a company always fully remade games this way without giving easier access to what it was like before, it makes it harder for newer fans to have a comparison. Capcom should definitely get all the applause for their work on this game tho, like I said, I do also really enjoy when these kinds of games happen as well
Gonna save this video for later, but I just wanna say now that splitting the channel in two was a really smart idea. Hopefully it works out for you, as I love your content and I’m really glad to see you back to doing what you love!

If a company always fully remade games this way without giving easier access to what it was like before, it makes it harder for newer fans to have a comparison. Capcom should definitely get all the applause for their work on this game tho, like I said, I do also really enjoy when these kinds of games happen as well
Feels like coming home. Looking forward to more, welcome back and thank you for all that you do!!

Gonna save this video for later, but I just wanna say now that splitting the channel in two was a really smart idea. Hopefully it works out for you, as I love your content and I’m really glad to see you back to doing what you love!
Love that you're deciding to branch out into more new content through a second channel, and a great video too :)
