- Let me ask you a question, Ted. Do you see anything wrong here? WE GOT NO ROOFS, DO WE?
The first major milestone is underway with the rollover repair. In this video we pull the roof off the rust bucket and then the racecar to start the roof swap project! Besides all the extra parts I was able to grab from the rust bucket, the roof was the primary reason I picked it up in the first place. A clean damage free roof, no sunroof, no rust. A perfect donor! Laso one step closer to getting the damn rust bucket out of my shop for good!

nice nice! Youi can do spot weld drill bit from any drill bit for metal. Just cut it a bit with the angle grinder. Just cut the ende of regular metal bit so it will look like a spot weld bit you showed in the video. That is cheap and easy to do.
I used a carbide bur to clean out the spot welds once. Worked shockingly good.
I enjoy these kind of stuff too lol
In the Subaru world (rally),people just buy brand new skin and stick them in eurethane windshield to weld the cage properly on the top instead of spot welding it. I think it could be a good option for you and save you some time. Your roof skin is not structural at all so no point to weld it! I like your channel Keep up your great work!
Yup. You're exactly right! That's the plan actually. I didn't mention that in the video but I'm also make a carbon roof skin with a buddy so next video will have a few updates!
Should screw the old roof onto the ceiling of the garage.
Yes wall art have pops sign it tooooo
Definitely!
Modern car bodywork reminds me of LEGOS. Pop a piece out, snap a piece in. Cool video today.
Yeah, it's super simple how they are put together
👏👏👏 nicely done..
Thanks man! A satisfying project so far!
plasma cutter to remove spot welds?? .
I have the same car but my front and back seats are very nasty and it needs to replace. Maybe you can give away that old seats of yours ahaha.
Awrsome job. I am curious to know the weight of the roof. Was thinking of removing mine and replace it with fiberglass. We have no weight restrictions in our series, and with B16 I need all the power to weight I can get.
Also you can remove those inner supports accross the roof. I removed mine a few years ago and it made no real difference in support of the roof.
I'll weigh it in the next video! I also didn't mention it yet but I'll be making a carbon roof instead, so I'm excited about that project!
Dam man shes coming together real nice awesome work. Are you doing any driver improvement stuff in off season too and what would that even look like for you where do you look to go faster
Driver improvement stuff would look like sim racing. I used to do a ton of iracing and it really helped! Unfortunately, I don't have much time for it
@@EricKutilRacing definitely do a video on the sim rig aswell when you get a chance
Can do! Although my rig or PC is kind of outdated unfortunately
You remove any extra that isn't needed on the roof because that weight matters.. carbon fiber roofs are for a reason other than looks
I heard about carbon fiber roofs but how they are fixed? It's glued?
Carbon fiber roof is the plan. Yeah
Panel bond
No way your name is the same as mine, but spelled different...
Haha thats wild!
U can't use carbon roof?
Why don't you put a carbon fiber or fiberglass roof
Haha i will! But uts not an easy thing, they aren't cheap or easy to make
@@EricKutilRacing they are verry easy to make. Fenders are hard to make
Save doing the roof till the rear quarter is cut and placed on
Yup! Thats the plan because my plan changed after filming this video ha
*insert topless joke here*
😆
