We are Mini-Q dealer in Canada and had all but given up on the cars because of some quality issues on the Q5 and poor machining of the countersteer and front one-way. This gives us new hope that the Q-7 may be better and that I can also use these mods on the Q-5. I see you also went with the Three Racing One Way...I agree; the Sino Hobby one-way seems too heavy and is more work for the motor. Are you now happy with the Q7 using the three mods (body to 90MM, countersteer and servo arm from WL toys)?

That red ESC has 2 switches. One switch for power and the other one to turn the brake on and off. Make sure you turn the power off first before switching the brake.

I'm wondering, in this video you have a formula for working out your CS ratio, is there a rule of thumb that you know of as a rough guideline for selecting a decent gear ratio with rwd drift? I'm trying to build a wltoys rwd setup with an RM style motor mounting position and I'm struggling a little with my gear ratio, lol. I felt you was the best man to ask about this 😎👍I have a gearbox mockup I just think that there's far too much reduction from the spur down to the wheels 🤷♂️ I would love to know your thoughts on this. I don't really have something like that since most of the RWD cars I got are like pre-set for RWD already. But if you feel like the car doesn't have enough pull you can decrease the pinion size and if you feel that top end is not enough while it starts fine then increase the gear. That's pretty much it.

But if you buy 3Racing or Eagle Racing oneway it will come with additional gears too. The package I give you here is replacement part for maintenance.
They are different beasts altogether. Q7 is a really good AWD car for both touring and drifting while HGD1 is a really good RWD drift car. If you focus on drifting only then HGD1 has brighter future because the trend is moving towards RWD.

Right now, no idea. It's out of stock everywhere as you know. You can make one from existing parts if you want. Here's the tutorial th-cam.com/video/t6PiUq-_9lI/w-d-xo.html (same method as WLtoys) Fun is quite subjective. This car is already very good at initiating drift and keep on sliding. This mod will allow you to kick the back out easier and hold the opposite lock longer but it will sacrifice some speed. So if you want to slide at high speed you don't want to do this.
Gyro helps a lot especially if you want to drive fast. But it not necessary. You can drive without it. Easy to start CS ratio is 1.5, you won't feel much difference but the back will step out easier. My favourite is 1.75. It's easy to drive, can hold some counter steer. More than this like 2.0 or beyond will be much harder to drive and you'll have to fight the car to come back to straight line.
Q7 is newer with double wishbone suspension so it drives much better. Q7 also has fully adjustable suspension from camber to toe. If you want to get a drift car Q7 is the best for AWD.
Since I couldn't get the gear set. I ended up replacing the ring gear on the differential from a 28t to 26t,It does the same effect This works with the 3racing and atomic rc differential. Unfortunately it's starting to be difficult to get them also🙁

Hi, i just instal 3racing front one way on my mini q, but when i push the brake the front wheel is not spinning to much?? The bearing is greasing well and oily. Do you have any suggestions maybe?
It doesn't have to spin forward too much when you test it in the air. Try putting the car on the floor, if you push the car (by hand) forward and the front wheels spin while rear wheels stay stationary then it's ok. Otherwise you can apply one way bearing oil to it, what I did was putting some bicycle chain oil in it. The oil is a bit sticky and works really well.
Yes, they both fit. You can still find the one way and solid axle on aliexpress. The rear gear is out of production. However the new batch for these parts are pretty bad. They have sharp gear teeth and will ruin your pinion gear.

The diff (solid axle/rigid axle) is direct fit. The gear however is unknown. Shaft has the same kind of notch but I don't know the exact diameter of Mini-Z's shaft. Anyway, you can just mod the rear gear by putting a bigger pinion over the original one, it's so easy to do. I have another video coming up about how to DIY a CS gear kit, both rear gear and diff.
Blurr Face Mini-Z shaft already has the cut. The diameter of the shaft is what I'm worry about. I heard it is smaller and the gear might not fit properly. Anyway, you can try glueing them together but don't let any glue get inside the ball bearing.
TR Q2 is RWD. If you talk about the act of counter steering the car then yes, it can do that, any car can do that. But the term "countersteer" or "CS" is for 4WD car that means rear wheels spin faster than front wheels.
Hi mate :-) I was just wondering how you rate the 3racing one way diff? I've purchased 2 now and they both struggle to maintain drive....... most of the time the car is in 3 wheel drive mode and is impossible to control...... is there any reason these diffs may get jammed or something?
I haven't use it much but one way bearing need to be cleaned and lubed properly. Otherwise it won't grip the shaft (slipping). The lube has to be a bit thick too. There are one way oil or grease and you might find one at your local hobby shop.
