Enjoy watching your videos, now retired after 51 years in the trades but miss doing this type of work, i was an advance craft city and guilds plumber and also had level 3in bricklaying and worked in a team with other trades doing this type of work so picked bits of other trades as well really enjoyed it
Im glad you consider where the facia board joints are. Im really conscious of this sort of detail . Something that doesn't take a massive amount of extra time but makes the job.
For the stop tap, consider fitting a sure stop this way, you can have it in a convenient location. Personally, i always make sure there is a proper working traditional brass stop tap but like to then fit a surestop to allow more convenient isolation, especially for elderly clients.
Great job, I wouldn't get in the habit of pre nailing the pins tho because if your on a big site alot of the time the scaffolding can get in the way of driving them home 😅
How old is the house, that 'utility' room looks very much like it was a coal hole originally!? When I started in the electrical trade in the 1970's extensions like that were our bread and butter jobs! Over the years it became apparent that during the hard times people had extensions and when things were better people moved house, I don't know if it's still like that now!?
Hello Richie, slightly off topic I know but can you recommend a decent fast setting wood glue - tackling squeaky staircase at home next week - am able to access the underside of the stairs so planning to fit some timbers between risers and treads - screwed and glued, regards Nick
Hi Nick I’d recommend a D4 foaming wood glue which you can get in a tube as well. However we use illbruck foaming glue for a foam gun. Take a look at their site www.illbruck.com/en-gb/products-systems/product-overviews/foams/ 👍🏻
Great as always! What a slog with all that preparation. As always will look superb when finished.
Great work once again from Rich and Matt! Lots of tips and tricks to take away from this video! Have a fun week both of you.

I wouldn’t go on a big site for all the tea in China. Not interested at all in that environment. 👍🏻
@@Mr_A_Builders I wouldn't blame you 😅 wasn't a criticism to be fair, love the videos 👍

Hi Sarge. We believe that the utility was and old coal house and outside toilet. Thanks for commenting mate. 👍🏻

How do you fix the starter channel to the brick wall/asbestos soffit. Would CT1 do the job? Looks like a neat install👍
Yes Sean I used CT1 which I believe I mentioned in the video. Thanks for commenting 👍🏻
Greggs, Yuk Yuk Yuk. Morrisons according my grand daughter who loves them. can't argue with a 6yr old.😂😂🤣🤣😃😃
I may have to give them a go if she says so. You’re right who am I to argue with a 6 year old. 😂😂👍🏻
@@Mr_A_Builders I don't because she has more logic than me and noticebly more intelligence.
Were paint blisters on a soffit board, It's a sure sign it is asbestos, the blistering is due to the alkaline nature of the asbestos cement substrate.
Can't understand why people view a channel then don't press like. WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE. subscribe, these boys rock.❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thank you Mathew we really appreciate your support. 👍🏻
@@Mr_A_Builderswould a gable end of the facia be sealed? Or is it supposed to be on loose to allow air flow? Sandstone tenement. 1820.
Hi. I’m afraid I can’t answer that one so let’s hope one of our viewers can help you 👍🏻
@@Mr_A_Builders I’m middle gable end, top flats mate/roofer did the gutters/facia. Gable stop end wasn’t sealed.
