Basement Renovation: Installing Media Wall, Plastering, and Electrical Work

- In this episode we finish the plastering on the ground floor, the sparky fits all the spot lights, sockets and light switches to the ground floor and I complete the stud work including the media wall in the basement.
We now have a date to work towards for the underfloor heating.

With regard to Selco,i am assuming that its a "Trade Only" stores and for local to Brum tradesmen? I live in the wilds of Herefordshire and all our building suppliers costs are a lot higher then what Selcos appear to be!!!!! Its a shame that us mere "mortals" or in other words "Joe Public" cant get the pricesSelcos prices!!!!LOL Keep up the great work and videos!!!!
Hi Gordon and thanks for the comment. The public can use Selco and they are up and down the country. You can always go in and negotiate for a better than shelf price as well. 👍🏻

Looking good - Question - when finding your centre for the media wall you found centre and said the plaster board will not affect it as you put it on the wall and the end of the media wall but by adding plaster board your centre moves to the right by the thickness of the plaster board or have I missed a trick ??
No Chris you haven’t but what I failed to say was I’d allowed it on my opening for the tv 👍🏻
Don’t worry about that one hole mistake I was always told if you can’t make a mistake you can’t do anything 👍😂
Are those lights going to stay half pushed in? Or are you guys going to do more work on the ceiling before fully pushing them in?
Hi Rich, at point 19.30 on the video the baseplate you stuck down it looks likes you applied the glue to the 50mm edge, am I right? Also when screeding will you be laying a slip membrane down and bringing it up around the edges to prevent the timber from rot ?

The packout cooler box......does it work well?......is it worth owning?
The cooler box is worth every penny. I chuck some cooler blocks into it every morning and it stays cold all day 👍🏻
Is it just me being thick (cue the abuse 😂), but if plaster board is added to the wall that is left of the media wall and then plasterboard added to the outside of the upright on the media wall, surely the centre marks would be too far left by the thickness of one plasterboard?
I’m a joiner myself and I was thinking the exact same thing 🤣
Yes, the distance is the same, but the centre needs to be offset 10mm to the right
The centre needs to be 15mm to the right to allow for slab and skim.

Spot lights are always a customers choice as to how many they want and that’s what they wanted 👍🏻

For the life of me I cant see how that Tanking works ? it just looks like thick polythene ? what am I missing ?
It's textured (a bit like Lego). Any moisture that gets in behind it makes it's way to the channels around the sides and out through the drain.
