I'm interested to know if these increase or refuse drag on the engine and if so, how much. Namely because stock fans are known to cause 10-15hp drag on a Dyno.
I have done some preliminary power measurements, but will have definitive ones after some final work tomorrow. In my measurements of the stock fan goes from 1.64 hp at 2,156 engine RPM to 14.92 hp at 4,500 engine RPM. Above that, if your using the stock v-belt setup the belts starts to slip and it is no longer on the same curve as engine RPM increases. When you move more air, you use more horsepower, that is one of the fan laws. Having said that, the efficiency should be considerably higher, so the increase in horsepower draw won't be as great it it would be if the efficiency was the same or lower.
