The new clone trooper named Lieutenant Hilo was different from the other clone commandos we have seen in The Bad Batch series. Maybe Commander Wolffe and Hilo will work together to help Captain Rex in The Bad Batch season 3! It's cool to see one Imperial Commando go against the Empire.

Do you think Hilo will help Wolffe?
Hilo is not the only Commando that served under Wolffe at the scene where Hilo informs Wolffe that Clone X went rogue there is another Commando among them
Yes
Hilo, is a new favorite even if he’s got a small part. Hilo the name of my home town on the island of Hawai’i. Hopefully he develops into something special.
No he'll snitch on him to hemlock
Yep
Hilo was extremely chill, compared to the other commandos during the time period
It's possible Hilo's commando squad was attached to the 104th, the same way foxtrot group was attached to the 212th.
That's a fascinating prospect, might be why Wolf knows his name? It would also make sense for why Hilo doesn't have markings on his armor since mostly they only did if they were their own group. Like Delta & the BB. So it'd make sense if he was in the 104th too, especially because of the small and specific nature that the 104th was during the war.
Hilo sounds like a good chance and he has good character potential
You mean death potential*
@@pinkinthesushiyeah. Look what happen to nova, fireball, Nemec, etc
@@Savitar_G.O.S
Or any other clone that has a name.
*“If they’re named, they’re gonna be maimed”* is my slogan for the clones.
I got the feeling the commandos on Tantis are only loyal outta fear. Just so they don't end up like their brothers, cause they know rebelling is for naught. They're probably dying a little inside every day.
I hope so, cause it's so messed up to see the commandos doing this to their brothers
It's more likely that the commandos on Tantis are far more loyal than most clones and believe in the Empire's cause, similar to how the Secret Service never recruits people who may not be loyal to the US Government
I doubt this to be honest, we have seen how Hemlock made the shadow clones into unquestioning assassins and how Crosshair had his chip amplified in like Season 1, more than likely the commandos on Tantis have went through the same experiments as the shadow clones and enhanced chips to make sure they don't feel empathy for the clones being experimented on.
At least we know some of the TK troopers have respect for the Clones.
I feel like they it’s more so they respect Wolf who probably leads like Plo Koon and actually cares about the people under his command. And since they’re conscripts most likely taken from the lower echelons of society they’re probably used to getting treated badly by those incharge. So by being a good leader Wolf probably commands both their respect and loyalty.
Wolf just is the high ranking officer and has the command. What should they do. They have to obey I guess.
@@Z0ttMonte I mean... there was that one guy who didn't respect his superiors and thus disobeyed...unfortunatly his' commanding officer was crosshair. point is, there's a greater chance they'll obey you if they respect you
Ngl Seeing Wolfe Command and work as Equals with TK Troopers warms the heart
You can even tell the TKs respect him a whole lot
It’s cool that the stormtroopers weren’t disrespecting the clones like Wolfe and they were able to work together where as early episodes have the normal people just have no respect
I think Hilo it’s gonna help wolffe ❤❤❤ and Hilo have my respect because he respects the orders of Commander Wolffe
Palpatine cant deny that the clones are excellent soldiers but their brotherhood and individuality are their vice. Id imagine he stil uses them occasionally because of their effectiveness
I hope Clone Commando Hilo flees from the empire and survives. I don't want him to die.
Named side character appears for a few seconds.
Star wars fans:
Is he the chosen one?
Then he dies next episode we see him in
I would love to see Hilo, Gregor and maybe Scorch and another comando that get convinced to join the rebellion become a commando squad that works for Rex's rebellion and we get a short spinoff show on them at some point or smth
That would be awesome!
Scorch is way toooo evil, as he's pretty much Hemlock's right hand man. Also tried to kill Gregor, as he was escaping with the bad batch, I don't think he's going to rebel with the other clones.
Would like a spinoff series following Rex, Gregor, and Wolffe
Wolfe was so done with cx-2. Hilo was so chill.
I love Hilo. Hilo might be working for the empire now, but really hope hilo doesnt die
Imagine if he was the key to getting the commandos on Rex’s side
That would be a big help in saving the clones on Tantiss!
So happy another clone commando other than Gregor has some semblance of humanity here. I agree that he’ll be a useful addition to the squad and hope that he will go back to Tantiss to get the other commandos to snap out of their evil deeds.
Hilo is an alpha chad clone but i have a feeling hes gonna have a similar fate to nemic and fireball
this is the empires way to get rid of the clones send them on these missions hoping they wont make it back!
those clones must be members of the wolf pack without their signature wolf pack armor designs
Like Rex said “Experience outranks everything.”
Probably why Wolffe’s men are so loyal to him.
0:19 and Stormtroopers.
Have a feeling he'll probably actually end up saving Wolffe in some way. Perhaps even the reason he joins Rex and them as it feels as though they've just been killing off new named clones as of late IE Wilco and Mayday. Reason being that the assassin lived and can report that Wolffe had questionable loyalties during the operation.
The fact many people were really expecting Hilo trying to stop or shoot Rex despite Wolffe's orders or something made me think he was made that way intentionally for the additional contrast. To show the difference between the average commando units attached to regs who kept their Legendary "Free thinking" and those unlucky who were deployed on Tantis and probably came through additional brainwashing.
💯
I just thought it was cool to see a mix of clone, troopers, clone, commandos and TK troopers and then to command them, all such an OG commander as commander wolf
They were also acting all like actual soldiers not just mindless robot killing machines like when the inhibitor chips were initially activated
There was also Wilco captain will go. I think Rampart shot him in the dooku’s war chest episode. I think it was the first episode of season two
I feel like a lot of the Tantis commandos (Scorch and Gregor aside) maybe promoted CT units in Katarn armor. That's why they're not as competent as other "named" clones.
When I first watched the episode I thought to myself: ,,maybe there's still a chance to save him (the commando)" when I saw Hilo.
Hilo is a Red Shirt, written in to die, dead clone walking!
I hope not 😢
Dont talk bullshit
I wish CC Hilo has Wolf markings on his armor/helmet that would be so cool
Wolf and scorch are the only ones left with there original clone wars era colour and markings. Even Cody switched from yellow to grey
Well yes but wolf’s color has been grey to begin with so there was no need to change it
Actually, that kinda brings up an idea. I wonder if CC were given stronger inhibitor chips precisely because they were more independent and generally more lethal. A bunce of CC deserting or rebelling would be a major problem for Palpatine so i could see him wanting to nip that as much as possible.
I think he'll help Wolffe and the Clone Rebellion, he better survive the war
It's possible that most clone commandos at tantiss underwent a similar reconditioning process that the clone assassins went through.
To ensure they wouldn't defect or they're just loyal.
They wouldn’t give him a name if there wasn’t something important about him
That's what I'm thinking too
Oh yea just like Greer right?
My guess is that Hilo is an inexperienced clone commando where his training is to assist commanders like Wolf on missions
I’m surprised wolf wasn’t gonna be leading a squad of tk troopers
Commander Wolfe commanding this commando
😂🤣
Kindia funny how every tk trooper is missing in the end
I hope we see more of Hilo. Hoping he joins in with Rex
I feel like many clones will retire but will pass away due to old age. Rex is really old by the time he reaches the battle of Endor.
I was pointing this out in other videos but Noone ever talks about Hilo
Well I’m glad I made one about Hilo today then 😂
He was also commanding TK troopers. Interesting clones can still outrank them when the Empire doesn't see clones as people.
Yeah that was interesting to see. Wolffe definitely had the authority this episode
And in Rebels he was in good standing with the Empire, if he doesn't get in trouble for losing Omega maybe he helps Rex as their man on the inside and gets away with it.@@expandedshorts
My theory is Hilo and Wolffe worked together quite a few times during the war and Hill learned to trust Wolffe
Yes I agree this clone commando was different in comparison to the other clone commandos we regularly see. Additionally I wonder what happened to the other clone commando under wolffe who was in the other gunship alongside the TK troopers
The last time we saw him he was stunned on the ground so he and the other stunned Clone/TK troopers should be fine.
Only 6 Troopers, 3 TK, 3 Clone Regs died in the Ep.
@@tylerellis9097 also shame about the clone pilot who I recalled got shot by crosshair
I wonder if Hilo will go down helping Wolffe out of the empire. Maybe the rest of the squad too.
I wondered why nobody tried stopping them until we got the wide shot and i saw it was only CTs no TKs
Bro just imagine if the clone assassin that appeared in the last ep of bad batch was Dogma :o it could be possible since we dont know what happened to him after he killed krell he could have been reprogrammed
That would be crazy! I have been wanting to see Dogma again so bad
@@expandedshorts Ye and the fact that he followed HIS orders instead of Wolffe orders kinda shows that he blindly follow orders just like dogma
With the exception of Howzer and Gregor, Rex's squad was completely wiped out. I'm curious if Wolffe, Hilo and and the rest of their clones will join to reenforce Rex's squad once they discover the clones are being experimented on Tantiss. I'm also curious if Boost, Sinker, and or Comet are still with Wolffe, possibly some of the unmarked clones in the background. I also think this clone assassin is Cody, not Tech.
My prediction: In the finale, Rex, a new reenforced clone squad and the Bad batch launch a surprise attack on Tantis. They are able to retake Tantiss with light losses. In the ambush attack, Omega's sister Emerie turns and kills Dr. Hemlock to save Omega. They are able to free almost all the clones and equip them with armor and weapons to defend themselves. However, the empire sends a massive garrison of TK stormtrooper/Impirial fleet to crush the clone rebellion once and for all. In the battle of Tantis, Rex fights and kills the Clone assassin. Similar to the scene in the Umbara Arc, Rex removes the helmet and is horrified to find Cody in his final moments. As Rex begins suffering massive casualties and becomes overrun by the empire. Rex, the clones, and Bad Batch attempt their getaway. However they are cutoff and begin getting overrun. In order to to save Omega, The Batch stays behind to give Rex, Omega, Echo and the remaining clones a chance to escape. Hunter, Wrecker, and Crosshair volunteer to stay behind in order to give them all time to escape, they are slowly picked off, but take a ton of TK troopers down with them. Rex, Omega, Echo and the rest of his clones make it to the hangar. However they are ambushed, by Scorch and Imperially loyal clone Commandos. A clone on clone battle ensues. In the battle, Echo, Howzer, and an overwhelming amount of Rex's men are killed. In the end, only Rex, Gregor, Wolffe, and Omega are the only ones to escape alive from Tantis. Before Echo took his final breath, he made Rex promise him to take care of Omega. In the end, the loss of Cody, Echo, Howzer and Bad Batch are the final nail in the coffin for Rex's desire to fight the empire go into exile. Rex, Wolffe and Gregor go into exile, and raise Omega until she reaches her early twenties. Unlike them, her desire to fight the empire never fades. At some point before Rebels she leaves Rex, Gregor and Wolffe. Possibly becomes a bounty hunter and or eventually joins the rebel alliance in hopes of avenging the bad batch.
Wow, this is a really cool prediction! It will be interesting to see how much of it lines up with the finale, thanks for the comment! 😄
the battle of Tantis, i like it! This was really good to read, I agree
I actually liked Hilo.
What makes this more interesting is that with Gregor, you could argue that him having amnesia and then getting nearly killed in an explosion "wiped" his programming to obey Order 66 and the Empire (like what Tech theorizes happened to Echo), but Hilo has no biological reason to not be as unquestioningly loyal and stoic as the other commandos. So clearly it _isn't_ a thing where Gregor's unique circumstances are what led to him defecting, it's something every commando can do.
Yeah that's a _really_ good point! Maybe Hilo has been working with Wolffe since the Empire was formed. I'm hoping we see more of him
This episode confirms my theory that by this point (late or mid 17 bby probably) the imperial forces still consist of about 50-60% clone troopers obviously we didn’t see them on tantiss cause that would make clones want to deflect but the overal military is still probably heavily reliant on clones
I’d say you’re pretty close. We know at the very least, it’s been over a year thanks to “The Outpost” in season 2. And with a couple months passing during that timeskip in episode 1, I’d say we’re somewhere around mid-late 18 BBY.
As for why we’re mostly seeing human recruits, it’s probably because they vastly outnumber clones regardless. Even if the couple million clones were never phased out, they would still be significantly outnumbered by the trillions of humans willing to enlist across the galaxy 😂
The fact that Hilo has a name is very unique compared to the others in the ahow. Not even scorch gets a name drop during the episode(at least u dont think he does)
I just really wanna see a Bad Batch vs Delta squad episode 🥲
That would be epic 🔥
It’s frustrating that they’ve teased delta squad (having scorch on screen), but will prob not show us the rest of delta let alone explain what happened to them after the clone wars
Hilo also talked without feeling like a soulless shit head, sounded more like a logistics trooper than anything.
Guess what we will never see him again
Not so sure whether the commando was actually different. I think it’s more so the case that as the viewer we are imbedded with the empire as opposed to viewing them from an outside/ adversarial position.
If Hilo back with brothers no doubt that eventually will kill him in that exactly episode, predictable
delta squad should come back and save scorch specially sev
I'd like to think that the reason the commandos are not as bad ass in the Bad Batch is because they're being misused by the empire. Given their skill set, they should be infiltrating and toppling non compliant systems, but instead, they're glorified bodyguards. I blame the Tarkin Doctrine
You say that but Gregor soloed a separatist army in his clone wars ep. Every commando should be effective as the clone assassin was this in Ep.
Hilo means “to twist”.
Oh that’s interesting
Still think the rest of delta will apear as I don't think all cc stuck with the empire would be cool to see if they defected or still serve the empire
Maybe not all commandos were part of what was happening on Wayland.
Nice vid
Thanks! Really appreciate it :)
I think scorch will turn against the empire at the end tho
I wonder what happened to the rest of Delta Squad?
Hilo must not be from tantiss
Maybe he's been working with Wolffe since Order 66
you guys looking into it way too deep.
