I’ve been a silent watcher for many years. One thing I’ve always admired about you is your ability to romanticize the normal, mundane, menial tasks. I really enjoy your content
Your kids are going to grow up and have such wonderful memories of the the sounds of their mama in the kitchen. Sounds of metal measuring cups being filled, spoon taps on bowls, water coming to a boil, stove doors opening and closing, jar lids popping; all sounds of love being poured into the delicious food they’ve tasted throughout their childhoods. I have these memories from my gramma’s kitchen and they are treasured. ❤ Thanks for sharing your kitchen love.
Lovely video , my favorite part is when you were sitting by the fire outside with your 3 babies . Seeing you snuggle with them and you loving the moment made me tear up ❤️ God bless you and your beautiful family ✝️✨
I was just looking a photos of a friend’s birthday and anniversary party. It was glitz and glam and a lot of beautiful people enjoying one another. THIS is what gives me joy-caring for my family. Establishing a good routine. Spending time in my open Bible and loving on my husband and kids and grandkids. Making my home lovely and worshipping together with my brothers and sisters in Christ. Walks in the woods, the morning sunrise, even a beach with my Sweetie every now and again. Seasons. Baking. Cooking a meal. Simple life. I cherish it more and more every day.
I think the culture of consumption steals the joy of being in the beauty of now; autumn decor in August, sparkly chocolate hearts before the new year has even appeared, and so on. Do I dream of the quiet, fly-free, dark days of January when I'm sweating through harvest? Absolutely. Do I moon over photos and videos of loaded lilac trees and dry sunny weather when I'm cracking slab ice off livestock drinkers? Yes. However, as I age, I realize how right your son is about wishing away today; its something I'm trying to be aware of and guard against. Thanks again for a wonderful, comforting peek into your life!! ❤
These breads today were especially decadent! The images of you with your boys. Wow.❤ We don’t actually get to see you with your kids often (which I respect), so it was especially striking. What a beautiful mother you are!
I’m a retired elementary teacher who will turn 69 this month, and I miss my own adult kids and all my students. There is snow on the ground where I live in Central Oregon, and I’m embracing this slower pace. I’m about to start my sourdough ventures again, as well as jumping on the reading train again. I’m not used to downtime but am learning that it’s ok after years of working and feeding my family a healthy natural diet. I don’t have as much room for a garden but am exploring EarthBoxes. I love your videos!
We're gearing up for a hard freeze...thanks for the content, it gives me motivation to embrace the things that can't be changed, and to find peace in those things ❤
I appreciate watching how you love and enjoy doing all the housework and cooking that i don't. I REALLY appreciate it when you find day, easy ways to clean or cook meals , make recipes better for those of us that can't figure out ANYTHING, even with having less children. Omg, you are so strong and amazing!!!!
Thank you for sharing your basement. We live in a house built in early 1800's and let say I don't call mine a basement but rather a cellar. It needs lots of work organizing my husband's tools (which he won't allow me to do because then he won't know where they are, lol). But I don't know why I have a complex about having a cellar but that is what we have.
Best kind of floral arrangements are things you find in your own backyard. Sticks and twigs-wild flowers-tall grasses-dried flowers and berries. All the elements you put in your pitcher/vase. 🥰 I love to do the same thing. I make a braided bread with cardamom in it. It’s a recipe from a small Pillsbury cook book I got at the checkout of my grocery store in the 90s lol. I love cardamom.
Your comment made me smile. I fondly remember those little cookbooks. Somewhere, in a box, in storage, sits a few remnants of my collection of them. The photos were gorgeous, and I, too, picked up a few nice recipes courtesy of the “Doughboy”!
I ❤ seeing your son in the yard collecting things with loppers! I use to pay my kids $1 a bucket of sticks they collected for kindling for the fireplace. It was a great way for them to earn $ for things they ‘wanted’ and they all learned how to create a fire for future warmth/activities. 😊
Maine brown bread is completely different, yours must be more like Irish brown bread. Looks delicious! Maine brown bread is a steamed quick bread made with whole wheat, rye and cornmeal. I don't think there's a possible sourdough adaptation 😅
You are truly inspiring. It’s cold a frosty here in Scotland too, but I love the beauty of Winter picking catkins and berries for vases is one of my favourite things. I am hoping to try sourdough bread!
I LOVE your channel! ❤ The videos are so peaceful and heartwarming! They make me feel a little inadequate, but inspire me to strive to do better making my home as cozy as your beautiful home!!
Lisa, a great hack for cleaning wax from glass is to put the jar in the freezer for a while. Then it pops right off with a little jiggle of a knife. Great for cleaning out and reusing pretty candle jars.
My mom used to find things outdoors-stalks of cotton, wild grasses, and create things of beauty. This is one of my favorite memories of her, and she probably didn’t realize I noticed. M-m-m🙂
I don’t know what it is exactly, but the peace I get from your videos is wonderful. Almost like the peace I get when sitting with the Lord and talking with Him. Not exactly but close. I love the cuddles from the babies and kiddos. I miss my babies. They’re grown and their babies are almost grown. I could totally hang out with your family and soak it all in. It would be like a retreat!😁God continue to bless you and your lovely family♥️😊
There’s a world you take us to in your videos that sets the tone of curling up with our iPad and a cup of tea and totally relaxing and enjoying every second of your videos….it’s definitely something I look forward to with each of your beautiful videos💜!
A little helpful bit of info, if you get wax on anything or need to remove wax from the jar place it upside down in the freezer and it will just slide out. I like to reuse candle bowls and it has always worked like a charm
Thank you for sharing those beautiful shots of you with 3 boys snuggled on your lap around the outdoor fire, you reminded me of when my 3 youngest (also all bays) were so little and I used to do the same thing….one in a sling and two on my knees. Such a beautiful time. Now they are 15, nearly 17 and 18, I have big tall men to hug now. Enjoy your tiny boys. ❤❤❤
I think about the reasons why we do the work of home keeping. If we can remember that we do it for those we love (and ourselves) in order to provide an orderly serene environment to be together in, or to come together in, that really lifts us beyond the ordinary work of it. We are providing “soul space”. What could be more important a gift to give our loved ones?
I LOVE the winter most. I love all of the seasons though, the work as much as the play within the rhythm of each... because I love being alive. I could never live in a climate without the seasons. I struggle with my sourdough because my house is so cold in winter.. it's always sometime in the night I'd have to go on to the next step. :(
I did not want this video to end.. 😭 I absolutely love the re decorating videos and cozy ones like this one.. it helps me get to sleep, it also helps me get through my anxiety issues.. you really are such an inspiration to many around the world.. The Swedish bakers also use quite a bit of Hagelslag, which is Dutch chocolate granuals on top of their rolls and bread slices. This may be something you'd like to research and experiment with. It's really tasty 😋

This particular video was so soothing. The bread looks delicious with butter and honey. Such wonderful memories for all your children especially in the Winter months when it’s slower and more relaxing. Yes yes yes! I am excited to see how you transform your basement for food storage. When we buy our house we are going to have a basement just for that very reason...but have no idea how. So you are not the only one excited about a basement lol

The domain of the family, the housewife, has always been sacred. It's a tragedy to see it treated as something to be avoided by modern people.
