No believer father would like his son-in-law to marry a second, third or fourth woman along with his daughter. The jealous nature of the woman and the affection of the father for his daughter disapproves this. As a matter of fact, the daughter of our beloved Prophet, Sayyidah Fatima, objected to her husband, Ali’s marrying of a second woman. If it weren’t permissible to object, Sayyidah Fatima, who was brought up by our Prophet, would not have objected. The Messenger of Allah would have warned her and ordered her to consent to her husband’s wish. However, it did not take place like that. On the contrary, the Messenger of Allah, who saw that his daughter was worried, asked Ali to give up his wish and told him that if he did not give it up, he could marry another woman after divorcing Sayyidah Fatima. He did not consent to Ali’s second marriage to depress his daughter. By considering that act of the Messenger of Allah, it can be stated that Muslim daughters and fathers may object to the second marriage of their husband or son-in-law.

I like how well-knowledged he is about all the statistics on males and females, and how he differentiated between different religions and how they are intertwined with the law in India. However, I completely disagree with this, he did not answer the question at all, instead pointed at every other religion. It did not clarify at all why muslim men are allowed to marry 4 wives exactly, should have referenced all the right reasons as to why from the Quran and from the prophet Muhammed (peace be upon him). Instead, he made it look like women need to be protected even in our modern world (women do not need to get married to live a fulfilled life, it is not a NEED). I've given up on white men because the ones I've known take no responsibility for their decisions. No financial support. No emotional support. Just endless pushing for sex right away in dating and then demands for freedom to date others. It's a mess. The idea of a man being responsible, even if not full time, when he chooses to include a woman in his life feels so attractive compared to all my "freedom" to be nothing more than a bootie call. If everyone followed the 1-1 marrying ratio , a huge proportion of women would be left single for entire life with No Children and satisfaction. Also God makes the standard of what is allowed and what not .If you can't accept gods objective values/commands Then the issue is with gods existence not justification of Islamic jurisdictions by western standard.

Actually In Islam marring a second or third or forth wife is not that easy. There are some requirements you have to meet. I remember some like, You have to be Just, Be physically fit, have to have enough money and so on. Many doesn't dare marrying a second wife because of the first requirement. Because treating two wifes the exactly same and being just is not easy. If you cant do it you’ll be severely punished. This is all I remember rn. It is a total disrespect for women , how come a men sleep with other women in the same house, and women have to accept it . Women are treated like animals , there is no argue about it.

The man doesn't need to marry another woman under normal circumstances, a woman doesn't need to marry a married man if she doesn't have to. A true believer, a father-in-law wouldn't like his daughter in law to marry his son with other wives. The judgment day is probably near, they're doing so much wrong and showing a bad side of Islam. Fateema RA objected when she came to know that Ali RA can wants to have second wife. He told Ali RA not to marry again when he saw Fateema, RA being heartbroken. Thus the marriage was cancelled.

To be more precise, The rule is :( a man is allowed to marry another wife *only and only if* he can treat all of them fairly). All wives must have equal rights And in surat Alnisaa i remember, the Quran says that men wont be treat all wives fairly even if they tried to, indicating thats its a difficult task. First of all, one must understand that the original point of polygyny (erroneously called polygamy) was to provide for the maintenance of war orphans and widows during the time of the Prophet (saw) since there war many conflicts in which Muslim men were martyred. (Sadly, I NEVER hear scholars speak to this fact which leaves those who don't study the life of Rasulullah to draw ignorant conclusions.) The Prophet (saw) even married women who were past their reproductive years. Do you think he did this for sexual gratification? As head of the Islamic state and the Last Prophet (saw) he also married women in order to establish ties and calm hostilities with communities he wanted to bring into the fold of Islam. My husband works long hours, sometimes after hours, comes home, eats, prays, sleep. I joke that his job is his three other wives. But I don’t completely mind. I have freedom to pursue my interests without always having to pay attention to his needs. I have the comfort and security of marriage and content children. He takes care of the needs of the home, children and myself. I a man has the financial, emotional and time resources, then Polygamy can work. The only thing is I don’t know if I could cope psychologically or emotionally about the idea that he is intimate with another person.

A woman does not consent to share her husband with another woman under normal circumstances, and no woman would like to marry a married man unless she has to.
It is a necessity of belief that polygamy is right. However, to believe it does not necessarily mean for a woman to consent to the second wife and approve it.
No believer father would like his son-in-law to marry a second, third or fourth woman along with his daughter. The jealous nature of the woman and the affection of the father for his daughter disapproves this. As a matter of fact, the daughter of our beloved Prophet, Sayyidah Fatima, objected to her husband, Ali’s marrying of a second woman. If it weren’t permissible to object, Sayyidah Fatima, who was brought up by our Prophet, would not have objected. The Messenger of Allah would have warned her and ordered her to consent to her husband’s wish. However, it did not take place like that. On the contrary, the Messenger of Allah, who saw that his daughter was worried, asked Ali to give up his wish and told him that if he did not give it up, he could marry another woman after divorcing Sayyidah Fatima. He did not consent to Ali’s second marriage to depress his daughter.
By considering that act of the Messenger of Allah, it can be stated that Muslim daughters and fathers may object to the second marriage of their husband or son-in-law.

I like how well-knowledged he is about all the statistics on males and females, and how he differentiated between different religions and how they are intertwined with the law in India. However, I completely disagree with this, he did not answer the question at all, instead pointed at every other religion. It did not clarify at all why muslim men are allowed to marry 4 wives exactly, should have referenced all the right reasons as to why from the Quran and from the prophet Muhammed (peace be upon him). Instead, he made it look like women need to be protected even in our modern world (women do not need to get married to live a fulfilled life, it is not a NEED). Also, what bothered me the most and got me so frustrated is that WOMEN ARE NOT PUBLIC "PROPERTY" IF THEY AREN'T MARRIED!!! I am so shocked at how accepting the comments are of this, and how the whole entire audience was praising what he has mentioned (especially the women). I've given up on white men because the ones I've known take no responsibility for their decisions. No financial support. No emotional support. Just endless pushing for sex right away in dating and then demands for freedom to date others. It's a mess. The idea of a man being responsible, even if not full time, when he chooses to include a woman in his life feels so attractive compared to all my "freedom" to be nothing more than a bootie call. Actually In Islam marring a second or third or forth wife is not that easy.
There are some requirements you have to meet. I remember some like, You have to be Just, Be physically fit, have to have enough money and so on.
Many doesn't dare marrying a second wife because of the first requirement. Because treating two wifes the exactly same and being just is not easy. If you cant do it you’ll be severely punished.

Allah wanted the men to marry the women who lost their men during war and these things to spare them. The rule is :( a man is allowed to marry another wife *only and only if* he can treat all of them fairly).

And in surat Alnisaa i remember, the Quran says that men wont be treat all wives fairly even if they tried to, indicating thats its a difficult task.

Because he is wrong. He says no other religion promotes monogamy. He says the "Quran is the only scripture that says marry only one" which is a contradiction if the Quran allows to marry four. The Bible is clear on one man and one woman in marriage. The Bible is also clear that the two are equal, even describing husband and wife as "one flesh." The key word in these passages is "wife" and not "wives" and the equality is clearly defined. If a man has several wives, clearly no wife is his equal and no woman is equal as they are not allowed to have four husbands. Naik is not a high IQ. He is under-educated on the topic he is discussing. He's justifying sexism in the Quran.

First of all, one must understand that the original point of polygyny (erroneously called polygamy) was to provide for the maintenance of war orphans and widows during the time of the Prophet (saw) since there war many conflicts in which Muslim men were martyred. (Sadly, I NEVER hear scholars speak to this fact which leaves those who don't study the life of Rasulullah to draw ignorant conclusions.) The Prophet (saw) even married women who were past their reproductive years. Do you think he did this for sexual gratification? As head of the Islamic state and the Last Prophet (saw) he also married women in order to establish ties and calm hostilities with communities he wanted to bring into the fold of Islam. We need to study this deen!!

My husband works long hours, sometimes after hours, comes home, eats, prays, sleep. I joke that his job is his three other wives. But I don’t completely mind. I have freedom to pursue my interests without always having to pay attention to his needs. I have the comfort and security of marriage and content children. He takes care of the needs of the home, children and myself.
I a man has the financial, emotional and time resources, then Polygamy can work.
The only thing is I don’t know if I could cope psychologically or emotionally about the idea that he is intimate with another person.
