      How many miles do you have it on your sorento? My wife really likes this suv but after watching few videos, like the one, guy is doing review on 40k miles... she's thinking twice about getting this.

    I've have a 2014 Sorento LX FWD I got used with the 4 cylinder engine and I love it. I like the body lines of the third generation better than the direction they're going. Thing is my Sorento LX is just a glorified front drive car, and that's fine for me. It's a little underpowered but I'm in no hurry, and it's got enough power when I need to get on the on ramp or pass on the highway, that's all I need. I'm never going to tow anything other than the baggage of a misspent youth and it has the tow capacity for that. The gas mileage isn't great but I don't drive much. The interior is wonderful, very comfortable, stereo is lacking, but it's a really nice environment to drive in, very comfortable, very enjoyable.

      @@AJ-ds9xq It has 161,000 miles, and after I found it and really considered buying it I had a compression test done to make sure the engine was sound and sealed, that's something most people never even consider. Even if you have to pay cash, do it, it can save you thousands of dollars of misery. I almost bought a Kia Sportage, super clean, paid for a compression test and it failed, the engine would require a rebuild in very short order, that test saved my a**, believe it. I wouldn't buy an older car without that test. There is no stronger recommendation than having a compression test done, it's everything for piece of mind. So to answer your question, Yes I'm very happy but with one caveat. I bought it because it was a zero rust, one owner car all spent in Durham NC where the owner was meticulous when it came to its maintenance. The Carfax had 52 regular maintenance entries, all at the dealership, he never missed anything especially the oil changes; those were like clockwork. Gravy! And btw, nothing bad, no catastrophic issues, only regular maintenance and general wear item replacements, tires, brakes, etc. A very clean record. That's gold Jerry! BUT, here's the unknown when you buy any high mileage used car: turns out the alternator was dead or almost dead and I was running on only battery and didn't know it. One cold night it died, bought a new battery not even thinking it was the alt, and it started to drain the new battery. So I had a brand new alternator installed and it runs like a top. I can't really be too mad, an alternator is a wear item that lasted 160,000 miles before it gave out, just wish it was before my watch as they say.
      It is a wonderful car/SUV, a pleasure to drive, really comfortable. It fools me into thinking I'm driving a high end Lexus, a poor mans Land Rover, which is fine, I shop at Walmart. lol. Kia's have always been true value for money cars, and their quality has gone up exponentially over the years. People used to joke but they've upped their game big time. It feels solid, the doors have that nice solid clump sound, not tinny. Mileage is just ok, it's heavy. One thing I did since it's a direct injection engine, I had my mechanic to a seafoam treatment for any carbon buildup on the injectors, money well spent. The car has a noticeably improved acceleration and gas mileage as the engine is closer to it's original spec. I just had them do it when they installed the new alt. What else, it's not the greatest handling car ever, not horrible, but the steering is a little floaty, but not out of the realm. It feels slightly lurchy in wet conditions, like exiting an off ramp don't go too fast as you go round, it's big so that's part of it. Still I love driving it, just love what a great environment it provides. Heated leather seats, backup camera, backup sensors, special mood lighting at night, fairly cool but useless but it's factory so I'll take it. Wish it had the side view mirror blind spot detector, but that's life. The third row is for kids, or short trips, not for adults. I looked for a long time before finding a car I really felt like was special in terms of condition, my budget was only like $5500, so I had to make it count.
      You can tell things about a person when they own a car for 10 years from the day it was new, and besides the super clean interior and exterior, engine bay, etc. was something I noticed that was small but significant to my way of thinking. Most people wouldn't even give it a second thought but I saw something great. In the glove compartment was a soft car detailers brush. Just something he used to keep the dash vents. clean and dust free. And as you might expect the interior still looks stunningly close to brand new, it's that clean. Most people don't keep a detailers brush in their glovebox but this guy did, and it said something to me about how he valued and cared for his car. The key is not to be in a hurry and only move when you're really found something unusual. I'm glad I took the time needed to find this particular car. OK, well sorry for the long winded response, but what the heck I'm on a roll.

      @robertkees6048 Thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed review-I read all of it. I was also wondering, have you taken any long trips in this SUV? Would you recommend it for a family of 3 adults(1 is my dad in his 70's and 2 kids for a long trip?

    • @robertkees6048
      @robertkees6048 19 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @ I have not taken a long trip yet, but the essentials for a comfortable trip are all there. The backseat has ample space two full size adults, and if you have a third row it's perfect for younger kids, like it's their zone. The front seats are super comfortable. The ride is very good, but if hit a pot hole you'll feel a little rattle, it's a big vehicle. On highways it's smooth as silk, you could drive for hours and all rows would be very comfortable. It's considered a mid sized SUV, but to me it's sort of mid sized plus a little, it needed room for the third row even if it's only a two row car. I would rather not have that third row cause I don't and won't really ever use it, and the two row version has cargo space under the floor where the third row is. The second row has air/heat vents for the passengers, my third row doesn't although it's an option on some. Yeah it's perfect for a family, not a family of seven, but four, yeah it's perfect for a mid sized family with more than two adult sized people.

    I own a 2024 Kia Sorento X Line, And I will tell you honestly none of this is true about horsepower, MY KIA MOVES! There have been plenty of times I'm thinking, oh I'm only doing 65 and looked down and I'm pushing 85-90 easy and didn't even know it, especially on the highway, and that wasn't even in sport mode, just normal, so that part is BS. Secondly if you need to haul that much stuff, you should have bought a truck, not a SUV. (Sports Utility Vehicle) Thirdly I come from a "Robust" family and all of us fit just fine in Our Sorento's (Both my fiancée and I have one, different years, same model. Point is it's easy to "rag" on KIA, but at the end of the day it does what all cars do, get you from point A to point B, Period.

    I have a 2008 Hond Accor LX that has 277,000 miles on it. It is a 4 cylinder engine. I don't need turbo or hybrid. I live around the Chicago area, and a SUV is need in these areas. I don't care about the three seats. It is just me and my wife. I have never towed anything or did off road driving. At 57 years of age, I am just looking for something that is reliable, does not have start/stop, CVT. I am just looking for a naturally aspirated engine with the old school transmission. With the way vehicles are made now days and all the added fuel efficiency, I am seeing a lot of problems. As long as it drives and does not give me any maintenance issues, I am good with it. Is the 2025 Kia Sorento a good choice to buy? Also does the Sorento come with those airline seats. I don't like that look. lol

    Americans...
    1. In Australia we have 2.4 turbo diesel. It has 324.5 foot-pound of torque and AWD.
    2. Diesel has better fuel economy too.
    3. And better towing.
    4. We don't use third row.
    5. And this fixes cargo problems.
    6. Pricing is comparable to rivals.
