    No it's a brand new CCV unit just put in. The problem was knackered piston rings, letting crankcase pressure build right up. Oil was leaking from everywhere. WHat caused the piston rings to jam inside the piston?! A swirl-flap did.

    Hi mate!Did you have any problem with the transmission while it was smoking like that?I've got a 535D and sometimes it starts stinking like burning and the gears don't change properly.Also I see lot of smoke coming out and it seems like there's an oil leak somewhere.
    PS: I just changed the transmission gasket thinking that the problem was caused by old oil ect....
    thanks

      I have the same problem. Burning oil, leaking oil and the gear won't change. But my car does it all the time now. Did you fix it?

      @@Mamppa20 I fixed it by getting rid of the car. The transmission started skipping really bad

      @@suelgashi387 I had broken piston. It was running on 5 sylinders, diesel smoke from exhaust, compression pressure leaked into crankcase. I opened sylinderhead and oilpan and replaced new piston.

    I have smoke from oil cap when opened some blowby but nothing from dipstick.
    Have cleaned breather valve vortex type but not changed. Smoke persists even though it’s turned off. Oil vapour??

      Higher mile engines, blow-by is normal giving smoke from breather, just have to live with it

    Was there any oil shooting from exhaust , I have an 07 530i and there is oil on my exhaust and a lot of thick white smoke coming out

    • @beemersandbass
      @beemersandbass  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not really as it's a diesel so the engine oil gets burned with the fuel. On your petrol 530i I assume the oil is not being burned in the engine and is getting blown straight through and out of the exhaust. White smoke is usually water-vapour, oil smoke is light blue in colour. Check again, if the smoke is definitely thick white in colour and oil is in your pipe then I would worry about a blown head-gasket. Good luck dude, post a reply if you get it sorted.

    valve cover gasket ?

    • @beemersandbass
      @beemersandbass  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, this comes from inside the valve cover, it was blow-by past the piston-rings, filling the sump and crank case with pressure and smoke. When the valve cover gasket leaks it drips ooutside the engine onto the exhaust manifold and oh yeah I've had that on two E46!
