I need to change the turbo pressure converter on my wife's X5 e53 3.0d, which is close to the turbo. This is the closest video I could find, which I must say is excellent, you explain every step perfectly. I never normally comment but because you done such a great job, I just had to. Well Done!!
Listen your a legend. Seen so many videos of people dropping driveshafts and all sorts. That is a lot easier than the starter motor i put on recently 😂
Congratulations and thanks for this video. I'm just asking if it isn't easier to extract the turbocharger connected together with the catalyst through the bottom, considering that because of the two f----ng screws, the valve cover and the exhaust manifold must be removed?
@@emi6600 yes to do it in the way that I did it then yes, but I had some comments that some people got it out from under the car. You will need to check condition of your exhaust bolts and maybe you can do it other way. Good luck my friend 💪

Yes, I always check condition of the gasket first to make sure if it will still work but also add small amount of gasket sealant to the corners. It not only help to seal but also help to hold everything in place when assembling back
One of the screws scuring my turbo outlet pipe is directly under the metal pipe. There is very low space to stick a tox key into it. It's position is even more awkward than in the video. Not sure how can it be removed.
I have done this job some time ago, but as far as I remember there was triangle plate that had two bolts connected to the engine and one that was under the turbo. By removing bolts that goes to the engine you should be able to remove turbo with this plate. I speak about this at 24:53 of this video. I hope that this will help

Removing the turbo you don't need take of valve over. Over hours pointles jod. That's why bottom of air filter cover is 3 holes to remove turbo bolts..
@@AndyN1 This is big mistake. You can take of the cat and remove the 3 bolts from filter rom, why are you doing all this job to change turbo. Idont understand.
Much easier is to change it under the car by removing cat👍🙂

Yeah the starters are a pig, them bolts right up to the firewall, had to take mine off to change the CPS recently

Hi there, I dont think that I have to go under the car during this work at all. The whole job was done from the top of the engine.

@@denisovanhybrid9610 if you can then it may be easier, as I know with some of the engines fuel injectors may be a problem
