    One interesting difference is they moved the motherboard socket further and rotated the prongs 90 degrees I guess to ensure someone doesn’t put the wrong supply in (like the DR).
    If you’re interested in looking at another FR; I’ve yet to crack the one I have that loses power under load.

    Absolutely amazing your troubleshooting skills are . i have so many dead power supplies that i wish i was as good as u that i could fix them all. With your videos i have got the confidence to drill deeper into them.Thank you so much. Also i always discharge the bulk caps as soon I open it up. I have a question for you , i have this slim supply in which the volts on the bulk caps go v high . I replaced the caps and the 16121A but that didnt fix the issue someone else suggested a bad DAP49. What are your thoughts?

    • @ToltecMerc
      @ToltecMerc  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Look at the large value resistors in the feedback loop. It sounds like there is not a proper feedback from the bulk capacitors to the 1612A on pin 2. Depending on the model, could be a 9.1Meg and 1.5Meg.

    You know what might be broken? Does my power supply output 8V?

    In the trace you repaired, is it frowned upon to use solder to make that connection?

    Thank you for your video!!!!!!! I've tried a repair of an ADP-400FR with identical components damaged (shortage by roaches). But I was unlucky. The power supply without load stay on... when I put load, stay on for five minutes and after this destroy again diode, mosfet and dap... Any suggestion? Thanks in advance! Germano

    • @ToltecMerc
      @ToltecMerc  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I could only guess. Did you use the proper MOSFET? If it breaks down, it could damage other components as it shorts.
