Today I'm reacting to MandJTV's video Can You Beat Pokemon ORAS With ONLY Castform? This Castform only run was actually something I did alongside Mikey on stream a while back, but we never finished the project together. He eventually finished the run himself and made it into a video and I thought it was about time to finally watch it! I personally did the calculations, it's surprisingly remarkable.
At HIS full health, a max damage (not a critical hit) roll lands at 99%. At 126 HP (57%) WITHOUT tough claws & +1Attack boost Castform (Lv. 71) survives giga impact from Metagross before receiving it's boosts from mega evolution. However without the 84 HP EV's he picks up along the journey using the SAME calculations, he does not survive at 57% health. And on top of all that, without the sun, flamethrower does only around 50-ish% to Steven's (Lv. 59) mega-Metagross! Kudos Michael for the smart/clutch heal, the "poke-math" seems to heavily support your decision!!

It's not that Chip Away can't ever miss like Aerial Ace, it has a normal 100% chance to hit and ignores an opponent's Evasion boosts like Sacred Sword. Accuracy drops on the user can still make those two moves miss a target.

Mikey didn’t know that weather ball’s power actually doubles to 100 whenever it’s used in the weather. This along with the fact that it gets the 50% bonus damage from being the same type as castform makes the move even higher.
He found this out in a reaction video.

Castform really came in clutch for me, defeating Mega Metagross where Kyogre could not! Also with the Slaking I did a protect stall strategy with my Marshthomp, protecting on the Slacking’s attacking move then attacked it when it was loafing about.

I'm doing a Castform only run with a neutral nature and I went for the Incinerate TM instead of learning Fire Blast. If it's not 100% accurate,it's 50% accurate.

See I was very smart with my Kyogre. i managed to get O-Power catch level 3 up just before entering that low chamber so that when I started the fight with Kyogre it still has a little time left on the clock. It made catching Kyogre (with a Net Ball btw) MUCH easier.
Seeing it now I wish Mikey had challenged the Elite 4 again: I don't remember if they have 6 pokemon during their rematch, but they are much higher level and have mega evolutions 🤩 Mega Absol, Mega Sableye, Mega Glalie and Mega Salamence

I remember a lot of Mikey's comments pointing out that Weather Ball gets stronger in weather in addition to the type boost it gets from the rain/sun and the STAB.
You should react to SmallAnt’s only shiny play through or him beating Platinum without taking damage.
Actually weather ball gets another boost if it's used in weather becoming even stronger than moves like scald
Castform run in the gen 3 games is possible even without non-held items in battle like using a potion to heal your mon up when fighting an elite 4 member

i replayed oras earlier this week and i was caught by suprise when the gift castform i got from the weather place was a shiny
I know this is an old clip, but I used a Castform in my playthrough of Emerald and it helped me big time against the League.

Water gun Power: 40 + Stab & Weather 80. /2 for resistance from vile plume 40. Ember: Power 40 1/2 20 because of rain 40 because of weakness. it literally was the same power for both move.

Mikey never called off the competition in its entirety but rather changed the end point and just continued afterward its a small difference in wording but a significant difference in meaning
I always wonder what was what the future of the region looks like. Someone walks up to the Pokemon League, they've just gotten past the victory road and are about to face the Pokemon League.
They walk in defeat all of the elite four members battle hardened their team scuffed up, battered, and bruised from the previous elite four members. This is their final challenge the champion of the entire region. They walk in expecting a fierce opponent. Then find out... The champion is a guy with a Castform. Literally no other Pokemon, just castform. Yeah sure, he's got a legendary and some random zigzagoon in a box somewhere. But his entire team is literally just one castform. No other Pokemon just castform. Honestly by that point I wouldn't know whether to drop to the floor and start laugh hysterically, or be absolutely terrified that this guy became champion with a castform and no other Pokemon.

That Torkoal battle was silly. He could have used water gun. No Stab and it might have taken 2 turns cause of light screen, but Fire resist fire and it takes 2 turns to set up rain.
