- In this video we head up to the Sierra Nevada mountains for a fun and beautiful weekend of off roading and camping along the Monache Meadows trail in Inyo National Forest! This is by far the best Overland location I have been to in California and quite possibly my new favorite place to take my kids camping overall.

Good to see the family enjoying the trip.
I've been going out to Monache a few times each summer for years. Lots of fun hikes from all points around the perimeter of the area. Olancha Peak was crazy steep! Deer Mountain to the south in interesting due to an unusual cowboy camp by a meadow not far from the summit. When I first saw the dam a few years ago I thought it was an odd place for the dam. The hike out to Strawberry Meadow was well worth the effort, BTW.

Loved it man! Great video and fun to watch your adventures. It’s funny cause as a videographer myself, I never feel like I’m capturing enough or doing it justice, but just simply filming anything at all gets you 90% of the way there. So don’t be hard on yourself about that, we’re all watching no matter what!
Quick question: what’s the rod mounted between the two headrests for the kids iPad? I really need that cause my 3 kids are always fighting over the iPad in the back seat of the Taco and I really need to center mount it. 😂

Game changer for the long drives! Make sure you put the iPad away when you hit the trail though. I didn’t on this trip and my daughter got major motion sickness. Threw up everywhere 🤦♂️

Got a locker? The trail down to the valley had some moguls/ruts and a bit of a rock obstacle. I saw a sock tundra down there so it can definitely be done. I
Very cool, I've been bugging my buddies to do this trip. How was the fishing? That's high on my priority list.
I didn’t get to do any myself but we ran into a guy that had caught and released 5 little goldens in the river during our little hike

Yes the trail down in was pretty rutted. I would not say very difficult but the effect the rain had was noticeable.
