    Great to see a review of a utility sled.

    That thing is epic. Reminds me of my 74 Rupp 440 with the 18" wide track that could go through anything and is still my favorite sled that I have owned.

    I think a lot of people are missing the point.. it's not for the trail only or exp. Only types, it is a do all decent machine. I am thrilled with my 19' back country xrs and a machine like this entices me . Although the 20" tunnel could be the deal breaker. I have ridden 24" s many times and a few 20" s and long trips can be painful on the knees. I guess the only way to make a good judgment is to drive one.

    the best thing is that it doesnt look super alien and weird like the older expeditions, it didnt look right with the wide track but oh hell this is the first time im recommending a 850 two stroke to my dad

    Ya I think this hits a sweet spot. I kept my 14 gade for it's 16" wide track but it's trail front end betrays it off trail. I try to dual purpose it as my weekend ice fishing sled..... Not a great powder trail breaker. Front dives.. this Xtream with hi/lo is what the tundras missing. I'm sold! Spec wise! Now to try it out!

    All the expeditions are a swiss army knife. The next thing BRP needs to do is love on the sport and give it better shocks and etec options.
    I wish you would have addressed the wide track bulkiness when it comes to cornering and carving most wide tracks. Does this machine do better? How close does it feel to a 16" track? Those wide tracks sure can push in the corners.

    I would love to see this sled vs. a 165 Summit in very deep snow trail breaking where slow going is part of the route. I know the Summit will out climb it on steep hills but how do they compare in breaking trail??????

    • @BilThomas
      @BilThomas 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I know this is a super old comment but I think they stated it perfectly in the video skidoo summit is a purpose built machine for the mountains n that’s it’s niche and what it’s good at so for breaking trail I don’t really think that’s a valid comparison due the what there built for now I’ve never ridden one of the expeditions but I’m sure for breaking trail I’d would do that better than a summit is built to chew through snow these things are meant to float through snow

    Im from the Arctic, no trails no grooming nada. This is the ultimate sled for the terrain and everything else. Trail sleds and lake rockets are a money waster here, but the do alls and 50/50s shine work here in Nunavut

    4:00 looks like skid needs to be stiffened up - all the paint is off the tunnel underside. Just picked up a used 15 Expedition XU 900 and have to admit it’s a nice sled - would imagine the 2020 is even nicer

      favarcat I didn’t ride the new Extreme but the Titan has more track noise than the old Expeditions. My friend and Brother has the Titan and it is an awesome sled.The only negative was the track noise, however it’s not off the scale and not something that would be a dealbreaker

    Fuel mileage? Total overall cost to operate ? Lifespan with etec? The 900 ACE would seem a better option for all of the formentioned.

      @@brentbradley6711 Define fun? Everyone's fun is different. I don't need to do wheelies to have fun. Nor do i need a 165hp engine to have fun.i need a safe, reliable snowmobile that delivers on my needs, not those based on the profitabilty of others. 14k or more for a play toy is not a good investment. Particularly when the toy loses considerable value in less than 3 years.

    • @jay101379
      @jay101379 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It's way cheaper than an affair! If you want less power go with a different Expedition. The 850 is an excellent motor with significant longevity compared to the 800...there are guys that run them hard with 14k+ and still no rebuild...probably some 20k out there as well. As far as price...a snowmobile is an investment in fun, not to be confused with a wise one...I've committed to an Extreme for spring ck so we'll see next winter if it's as fun as it looks! If guys don't buy em Ski Doo won't make em and we'd still be riding Elans...though they are pretty cool too!!!
