Ronda, you're as good a teacher as your mother. (Back in 2015 your mom taught her school age judo students at Prof Tom Reusing's dojo. My wife and I were students of Tom and were there to help out. Your mom's instruction was outstanding.)

Wow it's great seeing you on YT, you're quite good in Instructor Mode. I took judo lessons when I was a kid, starting back again after +40 year hiatus ain't easy! Studying Danzan ryu, just added BJJ to the workout schedule.

I've tried and failed countless times to find a martial art that's right for me. Korean Tang Soo Do, Karate and Jujitsu as a matter of fact. You've inspired me to find a Judo place near me to give it a try.
if jiu jitsu didn't work for you why would you thinkJudo would? its basically BJJ but with harder, athletic style throws ---its a young man's game

I agree. I am a French Judo Teacher and this is definitly Tani Otoshi, I can be wrong but Ko Soto Gake is more like you "hook" the leg of your opponent (gake means hanging). But I don't blame her because since there is no real official videos of the techniques done by the Federation of Judo, I have seen plenty of mistake before (whenever it's nage waza, shime waza or kansetsu waza)
I agree. Ko soto is done from the front and tani otoshi more from the side. It's like harai and o soto : it's all about the angle
Crom fighter and competitors don’t always make the best teachers and coaches. My observation isn’t an attack on her abilities. It simple a question on technique. “Gake” is a hook. It’s even explained in the video. But I don’t see any hook here.
@Crom Go to see the Kodokan Judo, and probably other 2000 videos about Kosoto gake... She has a good technique, but the name, all the way wrong...
It's Tani Otoshi... Incredible mistake in a 6th Dan and Olympic bronze winner...
