    Hello! I know this is quite a long video but I hope you find it useful 😃Remember to use the chapters to get the information you need!

      I know this is over a year old, and there was alot of good info in this presentation, but I do have some criticism to unload. About the USB-C: The reason it has USB-C is because USB-C has way more functionality than any other protocol. If you google "USB-C vs USB-A", or any other type connector, you will see that it outperforms them all. Data transfer rate, amperage, etc., this connector is boss. To suggest an adapter to drop the throughput down to USB-A speeds, is a bad idea. My suggestion is that anyone who is going to use top tear tech, should bite the bullet and match it to the proper gear, and not rig up something which in effect, defeats the purpose behind purchasing high-end electronics. Just sayin'. I'm not trolling or trying to be a jerk. It just seems silly to think a person would expect to get top class audio out of a stack of equipment that ultimately has a can and a string in the audio stream.

    Just adding correction to something I mentioned in this video.
    1 - The ZG01 doesn't require extra 5V DC power when using a PC to power the controller. It's only necessary when using a console.
    2 - The ZG01 does not do video capture, only audio capture with video pass through.

    Dude that headset mic is CLEAN AF! I was shocked, sure the XLR has a larger capsule and you can tell, but for the headphones, bruz clean for a built-in. The Audio interface looks really nice too, love the clean aesthetic and a big volume knob 😍 Setup looking killer 🤙🔥

    • @SocialHardware
      @SocialHardware  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah the headphones are VERY good and the mic is easily the best mic I’ve experienced on a headset for sure and that says a lot. And yes, BIG volume knob is quite satisfying haha 😂 Definitely improving on the setup day by day, chasing perfection (impossible to achieve) thanks for dropping by mug dude!! 🤙🏄‍♂️

    Hi, great video! Thank you very much for doing it! I would like to ask what type of arm do you need to put the microphone? It seems to me that it is not the universal entrance

    • @SocialHardware
      @SocialHardware  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey thanks, you can definitely put this mic on any arm, it uses a 3/8" to 5/8" thread. :) This is the standard size for all XLR microphones like this one. Hope that helps!

    I thought you're using the big mic but it's the headset mic! wow the best boom mic I heard.

      Yeah it's a really solid headset mic, definitely the best I've tried!

    But excuse me, can you tell me the measures of earpad inner part? Yeah where you fit your ears in

    Problem with the video - only goes to 1080p60, 1440p60, 4k60....no 1080p 120+hz or 4k120hz support. For this price at this day and age?? I mean, most cheap gaming monitors also support at least 120.. and when the new PS/XB was out, wasn't there a big hoohah about not having 'true' 120fps?
    And, not including a usb power is fine.. you're using it with your pc, should be fine for most people really, or just just a spare which I'm sure many people have.
    But that's great, most gaming headset mics are rubbish, glad both the mic and the headphones are good

    What are the Pros & Cons between this and the GoXLR and M-Game? What I noticed is the difference in kHz on the specsheet and the that the Yamaha has a Limiter and Surround Sound while both the GoXLR and M-Game both have a De-Esser but that's just about it.

    i wish yamaha provides more products like this for streamers.

  • @ryanthompson4846
    @ryanthompson4846 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Question - How does the surround sound encoding work for what streamers hear on TH-cam? I know TH-cam supports 5.1, but from what I've read so far of this device, it's encoding virtual surround sound into stereo audio. Is that right? If so, would that make a practical difference for streaming and/or pre-recorded game content? For me, I'm wondering if I can just get the Elgato XLR instead for $140 less if I'm going to be doing all of my audio mixing on my computer anyways, and if my streamers won't really hear my surround either.
    EDIT: Thank you for making this video! Well-produced and you answered so many of my questions about the ZG-01!
    2nd EDIT: As you can probably guess by my comment, I forgot to mention that I would be using the ZG-01 to stream audio from my Xbox Series X, not a PC, capturing all the audio using the HDMI I/O. Not sure if this would matter in the answer or not, but I figured I would clarify.

    • @SocialHardware
      @SocialHardware  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey mate, you're correct. The ZG01 will process the surround sound and essentially pass that on to the viewer even if they are just using stereo headphones / speakers which depending on the game / audio for you and the viewer might make it more immersive, but whether or not you or they find value in that's up to you to decide.
      The elgato xlr doesn't support surround sound from what I quickly researched and so saving $140 might be worth it however the ZG01 allows you to connect a console or two and pass video and sound through which the elgato doesn't. So just depends what you're dong and what you might do more of in the future. Just food for thought. I hope that helps!
      And thanks for the feedback on the video! Cheers!

      @@SocialHardware Awesome. Great explanation. I guess I’ll have to weigh that, considering I play and am considering streaming mostly FPS games, where the location of sounds matters. I’ve used and always loved Yamaha gear in the past, and I’m assuming this thing is no slouch on sound quality like the rest of their gear. Thanks again for the review and for probably the fastest and most thorough answer I’ve ever received on TH-cam!

    • @SocialHardware
      @SocialHardware  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah definitely something to consider...I'm still using the mixer and it's incredibly powerful in terms of features and sound quality is awesome. One thing I forgot to cover as well is the fact you can create an EQ for the Mic and Headset that you end up using which is really nice. But overall Yamaha quality still is very present! And you're welcome! I do what I can and you happen to leave a comment at the right time when I had a moment to actually reply properly :) Good luck with whatever you end up getting!

    Heyo! I am from Germany so I hope my question will be understandable. Is there a possibility to reach the 120hz by a splitter between the Xbox and the zg01. So one signal into the zg01 and one direct into my monitor. Is it now possible to reach the 120 hz on my monitor and also can use the mic and headphones over the zg01? I am not sure if my „team mates“ will hear my voice with my „construction“ 😅
    Maybe you or somebody can help!
    And by the way, very nice video! I liked that you take your time to talk about everything precisely ☺️

      Hey friend 👋 I do understand you’re question! I “think” it should work in theory but haven’t tested it obviously. But I think I’m principal you shouldn’t have any issues and you’re friends will be able to hopefully hear you over the construction noise haha. Thanks for stopping and leaving a comment and I appreciate the feedback a lot ! Thank you!!

    This looks like an excellent product. As a console peasant, if it had HDMI 2.1 it'd be perfect.

    Is zg01 also a sound card like audient or focusrite scarlet? I wanna know how it could actually improve my dynamic mic quality through XLR connection. Couldn't find any specs on that

    • @mentalrey1
      @mentalrey1 ปีที่แล้ว

      there is an internal DSP for to EQ, compress, etc the voice - On Focusrite/Audient you need to apply this on OBS, use your CPU that add many millisecond of latency, then you cannot hear your voice in raltime and adjust your tonal - XLR is only a connection, the quality is about Mic and people that know, how to set some effect without destroy the sound.

    This YCM01 microphone sounds so thin and harsh. Don't think it's worth the €19,90 it goes for, as there are multiple better options slighty more expensive out there.
