- Flat out rally crash! At the 2012 Rally Perce-Neige (Canada), we went off at 225 km/h and hit a hydro pole. The car should have been destroyed, but we fought back to finish second!
The most extreme accident in my racing career.

@Loscaldazar 225Km/h on a pole either the car is sliced in half, or if the roll cage is strong enough the pole bends. That IS NOT 225km/h. (which is 140mph)
@TheRuckShow trust me skidding on the fresh snow for just 10 meters doesn't slow down anything. Definitely nothing at 225km/h.
I repeat, 225 km/h = BS. Also because, are you really sure that they use high ratio diffs for snow rally?

How unfortunate. Your indicated speed might have been 225km/h(140mp/h) because of wheel spin but you most certainly did not hit that pole at 140mph. Look up "Ken Block crash" if you want to see a REAL high speed crash. The problem is that you mislead kids and people who don't understand speed to believe they could actually survive a crash at that kind of speed. Judging by the damage i'd say you hit the pole at 45kmh.
Not sure, once i hit a pole with my car with ~140 kmph and I was able to drive the car after that.
Although it was certainly fast, it was not 225km/h. More like100/110.
Kudos for being able to arrive at the end and getting on the podium, though!
This is the type of racing I could get into - the type that ISN'T just "They're making a left turn!" AGAIN AND AGAIN. Glad to see everyone made it out okay!
That is one fast, bad ass car. I would kill to get a car like that one.

Certainly not that big a crash (maybe by Canadian standards, but not in Europe). The snow slowed him up from the 180kph he was likely doing. There was no way that he was flat in top gear at that point. Still, it would leave your pants a little brown
it's not. Think about it. How many people drive cars on a freeway, streets, etc, and how many are there rally drivers? Plus, they have all the proper safety gear, rollcages, proper seatbelts, etc.
well theres go like $20,000 AND THEN .,... they win $100,000 for winning the race and do the math there winnings really is $80,000 i would like that much money...
Now that is determination.....Rally drivers are the most mental people on the planet and I love it.....Ken Block once said "you're not driving fast enough if you aren't scared"
He's so lucky that the car hit the pole from the back.. If he hit the pole from his side(door side), he will hug the pole and could be fatal accident

I have never heard of a rally crash before and it seems as if i have stumbled upon a crazy canadian phenomenon and i gotta know more about it! lol

I feel bad about the driver and co-driver when they crash like this. It might be very hard psychologically to get back on the road and continue rallying

A black guy in a crown vic with no insurance rear ended my 20110TC at 30 mph while I was at a dead stop and it worked just fine.
