@@RidingLifesRoads I meant boot into your existing windows 10 partition. Then use file explorer to navigate to the USB drive which contains setup file. Just run the setup file from it and simply click on next or appropriate options to upgrade to windows 11. I hope this clarifies.
For those who already have Windows 10 installed on their Mac, here's what I did; 1. I downloaded both windows 10 and 11 iso's 2. I made a new folder in desktop and copied the files ( like in the video) replacing the install.wim file. 3. I formatted my USB drive using exfat, then copied the contents of the folder into the Usb flash drive. 4. I booted into windows 10 and inserted the flash drive, it was already recognized as a bootable drive. I opened, double clicked set up and started installation process. Note that I did not create iso at any point. Also I didn't do the driver part of brigadier. I just went on and double clicked set up and installation started. Mind you, at the first restart you have to hold the options key and select the windows partition and not the Usb to continue installation. Everything updated successfully in the end without issues. HI, thank you so much for taking one for the Mac team. It's nice nothing was bricked. Is there a way to update Windows 10 (Boot Camp) to Windows 11 using Windows Update but somehow enabling with an app the TPM and Secure Boot, safely? God bless you.
Hello friend - thanks for a great video - I was able to follow the instructions and get Win 11 installed on my Macbook Air 7.2. I suggest you add a couple of more details in your blog: 1) During windows installation, we get 'Can't find network' window and there is no option to skip it. I found that we need to invoke Command prompt and kill that window to proceed. Please add this step. 2) Please add instructions on how to clean up Mac after Windows install is done - to delete unwanted installation files and uninstall softwares that were installed. This may sound trivial - however, we followed special installation steps. It is good to know how to uninstall them properly as well. Thank you again.
For 1) this is only applicable with Windows 11 home. The pro version lets you skip that part as far as I know. 2) The only thing to uninstall or remove is the downloaded ISO and downloaded files with Brigadier. The rest is all on your USB drive.
I would recommend the registry editing method instead: bypass RAM, TPM & Secureboot checks. It takes 2 minutes and can be done during the normal Windows 11 installation :)
I know, did a video on that as well: th-cam.com/video/iPc4Tmhv-1o/w-d-xo.html That method wasn't really widely known back then. Agree that the registry change is easier.

The drivers are in the downloaded package so you will probably need to install them manually. In most cases just fixing network connectivity (Ethernet or wireless) is enough and the rest can come through Windows Update.

Are you sure the bootcamp drivers are for the correct model? If you have an option to connect with a cable or other wifi adapter, you could run Windows Update and install optional (driver) updates.
@@jensdbe Yes I double checked that. I also didn't specify a model, and let it identify for itself. I have that option, I'll try it later today. But aren't at least the touchpad and keyboard driver supposed to install with Bootcamp?
Hi, thank you for making this amazing tutorial. But, is it possible for sharing your tweaked installation files? So you can help us saving much time for downloading win 10 & win 11, extracting and replacing plenty of files. Much appreciated.
can you make tutorial for update to windows 11 from windows 10 (on bootcamp). so i'm not lose my previous data on windows 10 (not fresh install like this video)
You can run setup.exe from the USB drive (after going through all the steps) instead of booting from it. This will allow you to do an upgrade. Just make sure you are not installing updates in this process (it's an option). It will show Windows 10 everywhere but if you did this right, you will end up with Windows 11. Keep in mind that I did not test this with Bootcamp or on a Mac (I did on a PC though), so make sure you have a proper backup. And would be nice to let us know how it went :)
Thank you for such a great video. I have been using windows 11 on my mac for a while now and when I partitioned the drive i obviously didn't allow enough storage space for everything i was going to have. Can I just increase the participation in disk utility without any problem? Thank again!!
Not 100% sure. Haven't tried that in a long time, so it might work now, but I had a corrupt/unbootable Windows install doing this in the past. Definitely make a proper backup before trying.
Hello. I have already followed your tutorial several times with success, and today I went to try to install it on a MacBook Air 2014 and I am getting this error: Windows could not set the offline locale information. Error code 0x80000001. It is important to say that if I try to install Windows 10 from the pendrive created by the official MIcrosoft tool, it works correctly. If I change the install.esd file for the smaller install.swm and install2.swm, then the problem occurs. Any idea what it could be? Thanks.
I followed all the steps (but my Windows 11 ISO was the official one not the Insider build), and installed Boot Camp on Windows, after it restarted the keyboard, mouse, network, etc. are still not working. Please help I'm using MacBookPro16,2
You are probably missing the drivers for keyboard/touchpad. Had the same when I installed Windows on my 2019 Macbook Air. You can use an external keyboard to install the drivers downloaded with Brigadier.
In that case you can follow the same steps. Just delete all the partitions at the step where you select where to install Windows. Then create a new one covering the full disk/drive.
You can have a look here: docs.brew.sh/Common-Issues Also uninstall and retrying might help: docs.brew.sh/FAQ#how-do-i-uninstall-homebrew Or use this tool to do the installation/repair: github.com/Homebrew/homebrew-bundle Good luck :)

The drivers are in the downloaded package so you will probably need to install them manually. In most cases just fixing network connectivity (Ethernet or wireless) is enough and the rest can come through Windows Update.

Everything works, until I install the Bootcamp drivers inside of Windows. It says it’s installed and it reboots, but still the trackpad, keyboard and wifi is not working, and everything is really slow. Anyone knows how to fix this? (Intel)

I'd love to do that but hosting a 5GB file is not easy/cheap. Also I'd be distributing Microsoft's software which is not very legal.
can you make tutorial for update to windows 11 from windows 10 (on bootcamp). so i'm not lose my previous data on windows 10 (not fresh install like this video)

Just plug in a bootable Windows 10/11 USB and boot into that. Works just like a PC. Simple and easy.

In my case, when I booted to the external USB drive, I was first told that my Mac's security settings would not allow booting from external drives.
